Gold Account Changes!

Excellent news! The Pet Leash is now a bonus feature of Gold Accounts, instead of being a stand-alone CSC feature! So if you have a gold account, you can leash any one of your own pets and their headshot will show up under your human avatar on the forums. So you can keep an eye on them wherever you go! Just what I needed for Squidley, the little scamp.

Do you remember how to activate a leash? Simply go to your Pets page, click on the little drop-down menu of the pet you'd like to leash, and select 'leash'. From there on it's pretty straightforward! Don't forget to change your pet's headshot to be what you'd like it to be on the forums!

This has been added as a Gold Account feature because something else has been taken away...the 5 extra pet slots. But no fear, because you now have 10 BASE PET SLOTS!! This is huge! What it means is that when you get a new pet slot from say...a site-wide user quest, or a loyalty box maybe: you don't have to activate a Gold Account in order to use it. You can apply it straight to your account!

I'm told the people who made this happen thought this would make things way less confusing. I hope that's the case! NOW GO ADOPT SOME PETS. You know, if you haven't already maxed out.

Oh - and if you have any ideas for more Gold Account features to help take the place of the pet slots being taken away, please come suggest them!

For the confused! Petslots are no longer linked to gold accounts. Everybody now has 10 base pet slots. When you activate a loyalty totem you will get 1 additional pet slot, you do not need to have a gold account to do this anymore. If you participated in the quest-a-thon you will not need to buy a gold account in order to activate your pet slot.

I really like how this simplifies matters, and lets other users have more pets. However, I consistently get GAs anyway for the autopricer, so I'm kind of disappointed. Do I not get another pet slot? Not trying to sound greedy, it's just that I have the 10 slots anyway and have for a long time. :c

If you were already using the 5 slots from having a GA at one point, you do not get 5 more slots. The GA slots just turned into free slots, no slots were added to the site

I'm confused. It says I have 36 of 36 but if you get a base of 10,wouldnt that mean I would have 36 of 41? I paid for the extra slots.

It's interesting to see how confusing this is for some people. Basically, we all became SO USED to things being the hard way, that making things more simple is just... like, "wow, Subeta finally did something to simplify my pet life? Really? No way, can't be that easy." XD I mean, it is okay to be confused by this! Pet slots were always too complicated before. It is just sad that we aren't used to things being simple on Subeta! CHANGES LIKE THIS ARE SO AMAZING. PLEASE SUBETA. I LOVE YOU. MAKE MORE PET THINGS STRAIGHT-FORWARD SO I CAN KEEP THROWING MONEY AT YOU FOR MORE PET SLOTS. ;A;

I was just talking about how I wished pet slots and gold accounts weren't linked and now it's a thing. So excited for this change! Also I've never used a pet leash, but I guess since I have a GA atm I will. Just have to figure out who to leash XD

Yes. Basically, the slots that were previously GA slots now became free to everyone. If someone joins the site today, they can have 10 pets immediately. Your slots don't change because you already had the GA slots

You'll be at 25/26 before you adopt your new pet, when the new slot is awarded this weekend!

like the leash feature, didn't actually know about it before! however, the option underneath to add text doesn't seem to work :S i tried to put some text onto my leashed pet, and when i saved, it removed most of it (it was well under the character limit). i tried to put: i didn't do it...i swear... and it was replaced by: i didn/ i tried without the apostrophe and ellipses, but it still seems to delete it ^^;

- Your 5 GA slots have turned into base slots. So now you have 10 base and 2 purchased. The only people who can get more pets today are those who only had 5 pets to begin with! - ;)

Omg...this is so wonderful. :') I was worried I wouldn't be able to get that free slot from the quest-a-thon because I needed a GA but now I'll be able to get that free slot I worked hard for without paying for a GA or waiting to get a gifted GA. This is amazing news :')

But just to make sure I don't get too excited and understand correctly, If i get an additional pet slot, for example through another site-wide user quest or a loyalty box, then I'll be able to use it without getting a GA? If so...that is so amazing :') I seriously shed a tear because I'm anxious for my new baby tomorrow...I get emotional okay?

No. You do not get other slots, since you're already using the 5 GA slots that became the news base slots

The way slots worked was extremely complicated, because there was two types of pet slots. Normal pet slots, and GA pet slots.

GA pet slots always got filled last, because they're temporary. The temporary status was really confusing for people, and after ten years, it got awkward to tell "no, your extra pets won't get abandoned"

This way, there is only one priority of pet slot, they all work the same for the servers and it's way less complicated for everyone.

I'm still not getting this. I have 12 pets 5 base, 5 GA and two purchased. Does that mean I can get 5 more.. today? Sorry I get confused very easily. People tend to get very annoyed when I just don't get something. :/

you will STILL GET AN EXTRA PET SLOT FRIDAY, if you took part in the questathon
you do not need a GA for ANYTHING CONCERNING PET SLOTS
if you already have ten pets with a GA it only means you no longer need a GA to abandon and adopt another

I'm so conflicted about this.

A. I never saw the difficulty before. Procure a CSC medal if you used one before, they're not that expensive... you can buy them with sP. Maybe it's just because I'm a horrible pet owner and I ditch/recreate enough that this is... something I'm very familiar with. It's literally 75% of the reason I've ever bought a gold account medal. I worry that I won't have a need for one/others won't either now.

B. Then once I freak out about lack of funds going to site, who knows, maybe having more pets will boost the economy, people buying for the new ones. Of course, if they weren't willing to get the gold to get them in the first place.. maybe not? My brain hurts... so much I'm going to go clean. See what evil you've done?!

I still don't get it :/ So now I have ten base pets (5 of which used to be from GAs). And now I'll need a gold account just to use the free 11th slot from the quest-a-thon? As opposed to having 11 base pets slots with the new one? Somehow this became more confusing than before.

Personally, I suggested a reduced waiting time for the Ruffie Raffle AND a price reduction on Neela creation, but maybe you have ideas more suited to your own desires?
