Gold Account Changes!

Excellent news! The Pet Leash is now a bonus feature of Gold Accounts, instead of being a stand-alone CSC feature! So if you have a gold account, you can leash any one of your own pets and their headshot will show up under your human avatar on the forums. So you can keep an eye on them wherever you go! Just what I needed for Squidley, the little scamp.

Do you remember how to activate a leash? Simply go to your Pets page, click on the little drop-down menu of the pet you'd like to leash, and select 'leash'. From there on it's pretty straightforward! Don't forget to change your pet's headshot to be what you'd like it to be on the forums!

This has been added as a Gold Account feature because something else has been taken away...the 5 extra pet slots. But no fear, because you now have 10 BASE PET SLOTS!! This is huge! What it means is that when you get a new pet slot from say...a site-wide user quest, or a loyalty box maybe: you don't have to activate a Gold Account in order to use it. You can apply it straight to your account!

I'm told the people who made this happen thought this would make things way less confusing. I hope that's the case! NOW GO ADOPT SOME PETS. You know, if you haven't already maxed out.

Oh - and if you have any ideas for more Gold Account features to help take the place of the pet slots being taken away, please come suggest them!

For the confused! Petslots are no longer linked to gold accounts. Everybody now has 10 base pet slots. When you activate a loyalty totem you will get 1 additional pet slot, you do not need to have a gold account to do this anymore. If you participated in the quest-a-thon you will not need to buy a gold account in order to activate your pet slot.

GAs are worth it to me for the benefits of extra quests, random times, reflection, training times etc. I would still want a gold account even if I only had one pet.

I really appreciate this change, I have always been someone who has always wanted to use leash feature. The crux being that I am not really someone who posts a lot on the forum so merit purchasing this feature for myself. I am really glad to see this rolled into the GA feature, as that is something that I do try and utilizes when and if I can. Thank you so much :3

, I understand that, and I am very excited about that. However, we were told that we would get an extra pet slot beforehand. I am not upset, but I do not understand how this is a compromise for everyone. Does that make sense? I love that there can be ten base pets, and I love the lack of a GA for getting extra pets. This is really a great thing, however, I am just a bit confused as to whether the ten is the official compromise or if it is ten and the extra slot given Thursday night.

So does this mean that those who already had ten or more slots used don't get an extra pet slot? I don't see that as fair to all of those who worked at the quests when promised an extra pet slot. I, for example, have twelve pets and quested but am unable to get another pet. Is there a resolution to that or do we who were already over the limit simply unable to get the free pet slot and must pay or find extra ways to get more pets?

Definitely like this change! With me not being able to buy GA's all the time (except once every 21 days to get my pets in the resort and being able to autoprice that week, that is), I'm happy for this change! Like most people, I always hated each time I'd want to make a pet in the past that I had to get a GA to do so. With this, all I'll need to do is activate the pet slot and go for it. :D

LOOOOVE love love this change :D I really insanely hated having to get a GA for my pets. My only downside was that I bought a GA TODAY and used it for the slot tomorrow LOL, but I am really hoping you all figure out some cool perks soon to replace them :D

Kilala is absolutely correct. Now you don't even have to have that GA to HAVE all those pets. They are now completely unrelated to the GA. What this means for you is no more having to pay $5 a month to keep the 5 extra GA slots and be able to use them and more. You don't even need that at all now to be able to adopt/abandon and gain more slots. There isn't a bad thing about this change.

This weekend, if you have completed at least one quest from one of the QuestPoints awarding quest people, you will get another slot, and your total will be 13/14 before adopting a new pet.

I'm glad for this change. I never use up even my previous base five pet slots, let alone the extra five a GA gives me, but I've always hated thinking about all the possible slots when you couldn't have any of the individual ones you buy without a GA activated. So thanks for this, it makes things a lot simpler imo.

Also excited to see about future perks that might come to GAs. :)

OH MY GOSH. Thank you SO much. It never really made sense to me why we had to have a GA to use a Loyalty Box item. Glad to see that fixed! ^-^ (I might still activate a GA medal just for the autopricer...all that questing + years of hoarding items is clogging my Vault...)
