I remember having a really neat strain of the zombie virus, but it kept getting in the way so I eventually just cured myself. I'm glad to see this won't be a choice I'll have to make in the future.

Although, I don't think people should be allowed to pic a previous zombie skin, because it was still ultimately their choice to cure. I just really wish we could believe the stuff that staff told us.
I sort of agree with accio. More due to the fact that to keep my zombie access I did have to work with it for a long time, and then more just having the zap. Though at this point I am so used to my zap I know I will rarely use the base.
In a way it was just that perk of how others couldnt handle the skin long term, and those who did had that little thing to keep it special? So now it being accessible to all after being told for so long that it was have zombie and the perks but need work arounds, or remove it and make it easy is weird...
Not saying its bad, I am excited to be able to dress as an oc. But there just seems to be a odd feeling around it?
I don't think this is bad for old zombies because their diseased aren't being released again or anything (not yet anyway, who knows). Everyone else cured and they didn't, so they're still the only ones with access to their disease
I'm a 2009 zombie, and this doesn't bother me because I've kept my zombie skin. I have the genetech skin, so it hasn't been an issue for a while. However, all of the people who cured because we were told time and time again that something like this would /never/ happen have every right to be upset.
Also honestly if getting a new skin involves 'fear and anticipation' of missing out on an achievement that's a sign the old system was really...bad.
If only this had been announced sooner; I would have actually gone to the Zapper! Ah well. Next year.

Accio: I'm not sure I see the problem. Because you stuck it out, you have the skin freely available, while I and many MANY other people do not. You're still being rewarded for your patience, you just don't have to deal with the bullshit :D
Well, then can we claim one Zombie skin each from the past years? Yeah not everyone is going to be truthful about what they actually had, but it would be really nice to get Love Bug back, I miss that skin a lot

This is a great idea, too bad I don't have any skins to claim as of yet.
I noticed I could move the base around last night, which is, to me, amusing. But I like this, this will be a lot of fun. When I was a zombie (back when Rainyday Desert Rose was still in SubQ), I did get a teeny bit frustrated sometimes about the skin lol. I loved the butterfly+zombie theme, but argh the skin. This will be a way for those who want to stay zombie or zapped, but don't have the SecondSkin (or whatever it's called, I don't remember right now D: ) or the latex skins and want to look human.

I claimed my skins, but I can't seem to get either one to work? I've been clicking on "choose" but it just keeps the human base. Am I doing something wrong?
And I guess by now everyone someday might be able to collect all zapper skins but actual zombie skins people will have just one, if any I don't mind Unless they make one big plot to make sense on why we should be able to get past infections again since everyone is inoculated by now, then it would make sense And I don't mind that either, that Ecks plot you guys left hanging might be of use for this
Well, it just seems like if there are going to be achievements, it should be for people to stick it out the old fashioned way. I'm sure many old time zombies will appreciate it, yeah, but it will also lead to a whole lot of people in the future getting whatever zap/virus, redeeming, then going for another to collect them all instead of having the fear and anticipation of losing one you had to try for something else. Sure, it will appeal to most people and make them happy, but we've been told for so long that they can't ever be achieved again once you cure, so at this point on there's a whole shift that the people who've been here the whole time didn't have access to

I have to admit it always pissed me off getting great face items released on the site but not being able to use them because my stupid zombie mouth was too low/too big/etc and I kind of lost interest. So this definitely makes wardrobe more fun

Can we not claim the Zombie or Zapper skins we used to have? It would be very cool to have a collection of the Zombie skins we got each year, and I know a lot of current Zombies who wish they could have saved an older skin. Will this ever be an option?
Accio - But why? That just isn't a fun game mechanic. It makes people stuck with something they spend 90% of the time covering up, which just doesn't really make sense. We want people to have the full use of their wardrobe, all the time, and making them use a ton of coverup items just doesn't really work.
I mean I'm going to get the sad/madness of longterm zombies because they've had to do this for so long, but now they can turn human and zombie whenever they want.
As long as old zombie skins stay retired, I am okay with this.

-velociprator screech- Honestly, this upsets me. The whole point of skins/cures is that if you chooses to get rid of it, it's gone or you can deal with cover ups. This pisses me off royally.
Oh man, I kinda wish I still had the cloud skin instead of the deer skin now (also makes me wonder if getting several coverups was a bit of a waste)... but that's pretty awesome that I can go back to normal and still keep my zombie skin forever.

If you claimed it, it should come off by itself (it removes the hex) and then on that page make sure to click "use default" which will make you a human :)!
I would suggest redoing it with this thing. :)

Hm, it's a bit odd that the base eyes, nose, and mouth now all show up over the top of the skin. It's nice in some cases, but it's a bit awkward when trying to use my Dolly Dreadful skin.
It's true, we were told time and time again that "this is your skin etc. etc.," but people change their minds. Now, I do think that the older zombie skins(before this year) shouldn't just be able to be gotten by anyone. I'm a "lobster face" zombie and I kind of would be upset if anyone could be one now. I think our Zombie Skins should be a "loyalty" perk sort-of thing or something and only those of us that have them now should be able to use them.
As for Zapper Skins, go hog wild. Just my opinion.
