Wardrobe Skins!

We've introduced a new feature into the beta wardrobe called skins today! Basically, if you have a zombie or morostide zapper base, you can claim them in the beta wardrobe and use them any time!

That means you can have a human avatar, and switch back to being a zombie to pop into the zombie den, you can absolutely do that.

We will be able to add skins as prizes to achievements and events in the future, so keep a look out for fun new ways to change your avatar!

I really wish this had been done while the Morostide zapper was still active, but it'll be interesting to see how skins may be used now :D

Wow, I can finally look human again! It does seem like there is no downside to being a zombie anymore, though.

I just hate that I've been so many different zombies over the years and I only get one skin.

I wish this was done much earlier (don't now if I'm still capable to do human avatars XP), but generally I really like this.

Interesting. To be able to look human again [I'm still a boobitis zombie under this!] is going to be strange!

I'll likely remain a boobitis zombie regardless, but it's going to be neat to make 'normal' outfits. I haven't really done that since becoming a zombie in the first place... haha. Even better, I found some of my pre-zombie HAs that I had saved the other day...

- Fair enough, I understand. It's too bad the achievements people have earned from having zombie strains (Infected, Survivor, etc) can't help with that, like if you have an achievement for having a virus, you get a voucher for a skin. That said, I really do like the idea that's been mentioned of vouchers like the hair vouchers being released, especially if they were given out for special events or for similar reasons as the loyalty box.

Subeta is the name of the site but it's also the name of that planet there we see on the explore page, and that planet has a population of NPCs, and I think it's natural to assume some of those NPCs live their lives and have kids. The plot thing I said was like a silly idea for some event or, like, say initially there is a big news discussion about wether or not is racially insensitive that small children are starting to dress up as zombies to go trick or treating during Morostide, but then later people start to realize that no, they aren't dressing up, the children are becoming zombies and they start attacking everyone and we need to control them or something lol It wouldn't turn people zombie either because immunity and such but it seems like a fun thing to do

And I'm not saying for them to do it I just thought of it is all

Wait...so then would our HAs be babies? Or would we be fighting the babies? I get what you're saying about the plot, but if that stuff mattered as much we wouldn't be getting updates like this one where we can turn on/off our zombie/zapper skins. I mean, how does it even work!? That's what's great about flexible game worlds, nothing has to be set in stone.

Love the idea in general. Since it's not retroactive, though, maybe you could allow people to receive a certain amount of random skins to start out, or even open up the zapper for a day, or something along those lines? Or even release vouchers for skins, like the hair coupons.

I'm loving the idea, but royally pissed off it was implemented so late. I wish this had been done before Morostide, or during a previous Pandemic; I just cured my Unliving status a few months ago because I kept getting bitched at about cover-ups being "my choice," and now people can choose when they look like Unliving and when they look like human? No. That's unfair.

Please consider finding a way to retroactively claim old Zapper and Unliving skins.

And besides, even if the person didn't get a virus the first time around, today Subeta has the whole VACCINATIONS thing, so people are innoculated were they there the first time the pandemic happened or not. Even subetan babies are innoculated, probably

(maybe to get they need to be a certain age to get vaccinated so children aren't immune yet and some year we could get a zombie children of the damned sort of plot going, that would be funny lol)

Sigh. The thing that would makes sense to happen is have new zombies, not the old ones back. It was never get bitten by X strain become said strain, it was random, I guess the virus mutates so it would not make sense for it to suddenly change back and give the same infection it gave before

THIS IS AMAZING! I just wish this was introduced before morostide this year so we could collect more, or they could be taken from previous year's zapping because I went through a lot of skins last year to get to the one I have now.

- The latex you're talking about is 1m? 1.5m? I paid 500m for the genetech secondskin coveup and I still think it was a great deal. This does not nullify other skin options

Ugh. Nope. Totally not okay with this, and yes, it's absolutely because I'm bitter about finally curing myself last year. After listening to years of the "your zombie skin is a choice, so stop complaining about cover-ups et al blah blah blah" gospel, kinda pissed that now people with skins have the option to get rid of the skin AND keep it in the wardrobe. If skins could be retroactively claimed, however, it'd be another story altogether.

Yeah, considering this is fiction and new plots are introduced all the time it is rather hard to imagine how a strain of a disease could be spread to someone else, especially if they weren't here during the initial plot that also inoculated people against that disease. And especially if there's zombies involved. As we all know from so many zombie stories, it's notoriously hard to catch some sort of disease when there's zombies around. :P That said, in truth I don't really care, I never wanted a zombie skin, I just want more options for everyone.

I don't have any skins. Even though I was zapped during morostide, and I've been a zombie. Is this normal?

November 11, 2014, 12:26 am by Taters

If I had the secondskin I would use it more than the reg base. The shading is pretty and the colour is amazing to put over salon skins. I play with it a lot on arvee and never make reg avas with out it. So idk how it makes it useless. Especially as most of the people I know that own it arent even special skins.

Its still rare, its still used. Nothing about this changes that. If you dislike it now then go sell it? You still can use it to coverup your skins.

My only prob is still that I ar some point HAVE TO convert to this system and will no longer have use of wearing my zap on top of zombie. Its one or the other. And that defeats the purpose of my zombie skin, for me, maybe not for all, but that is what upsets me.

I'm happy and sad, I had some zombie skins and got rid of them because I simply got tired of trying to cover them up. On a happy note, had my alien skin since they started the zapping, I'm thrilled I can hang onto it and still pop over and have a nose when I choose to :)

No, I'm saying that we don't make choices for revamping entire systems based on the value of a few items, that if enough people are upset are now no longer valuable we can change.

So we should make choices based on how it's going to change the value of a few items (that we can make cooler)? This is a change that benefits a lot of people, and is going to be a really nice system going forward for giving out rewards :).

This is a fictional game, with a fictionals storyline, and the zombie skins are part of that fictional storyline, it make sense that the people that were there during that particular point in time in that particular storyline are the ones still have the 'mark' of it. Yes it's fictional but don't go the plot out of the window because "sharing". That's how it is in every online game really

Is it weird that I'm not sure if I like this or not? Though this might mean I'd be able to unlock different zapper skins next morostide and be able to use them for future ha's, and I do like that idea...especially with being able to move the base now. That'd make that Rarity ha I was going to do possible.

But on the other side of the same coin...I've been here for every single zombie plague and I think all the zap skin waves so I'm so used to the whole "either love/deal with your zap/zombie skin or cure" thing. Having to work with what I had skin wise to either flaunt it or make a decent cover up ha was a big part of what made it rewarding and fun to keep it for me.

Ah well...gotta roll with the times I guess. Sounds like a really fun new feature being able to unlock skins though. c:

..... this is nice in some aspects. it's great for people to fully customize and collect. but this totally devalues coverup items. why would anyone use liquid latex now? I think it sort of sucks that an item dramatically has no value now :(

This is a fictional game! So what if other people get to put on the same base skin as you, that doesn't make how you dress your avatar any less unique (well, as unique as you can be in any sort of online game). I think it's unfair for users to get 'loyalty' rewards based only on the fact that they were present at a particular point in time. We all get loyalty boxes depending on how many years we've been on the site already, what more do you want? It was some people's choice to remain a zombie and some chose to cure, why do we all have to suffer for those choices? We don't anymore! We all should be happy that we all can choose between even more options of how we want to represent ourselves instead of wanting to limit each other in order to keep something special for ourselves. That's just selfish and really, do we want to be that guy? Who knows what future skins will be available, do long time zombies want to be loyal to their current skin, or be free to experiment with all sorts of styles? I'd say, probably the latter, right? So why not give everyone the chance to do the same? It's called sharing, bro.

When I was zombiefied and then zapped I kept my skin for about a year but I just got tired of covering up and had read all those "it's never going to happen" for easier capabilities in the wardrobe for zombies. So I cured. Kinda sad I won't have those skins in the wardrobe and I don't have access to places like the zombie den when another year later something like this comes out. So I might be a little salty but this is nice for a lot of people

I don't really understand the bitching. One of the big "perks" for being a zombie was the zombie den… Which has been changed multiple times now to allow non-or-temporary zombies in. When we complained about this, we were told to be quiet (not by staff, but by a few of you whining about us now being able to pick skins). The same thing about the commerce area, where non-zombies shouldn't have been allowed. So, as so many of you said then, stop the whining. Why should weeeee have to be limited because yoooooooouuuu chose something else.

The site grows. Let it. Move with it.

Oh my gosh, I am so happy right now! My zombie skin was awful to work with, but I kept it for the perks (I had no idea about the temporary infections). Cover-up items were always way too expensive or equally difficult to work with. Then when zapper skins were introduced, I could never decide which one to settle on, but now I can literally have them all! Thank you, Subeta! Thank you, Keith! ❤️
