Just a friendly notice that the underground will be closing Thursday evening! This will include floating items and candy hearts as well.

Update: Zombies will continue to have access to their respective year(s)!

"Update: Zombies will continue to have access to their respective year(s)!" So the people who joined recently and didn't get to become a zombie this year... miss out because they joined when they did? Wow. Or the people that cured to get a new strain this year... good one Subeta, good one.

I'm sick and tired of you, and certain other users coming on here and insulting them with your attitudes. If the places closed earlier then normal then something is wrong. No need for you both to verbally assault, mentally degrade people and talk to them like they're dogs. I should report you for calling everyone whiners here.

How exactly is it arbitrary when they told us when they were closing the event and then closed it at that time?

" the underground will be closing Thursday evening!"

And it was.

I can't believe they just arbitrarily ended the event before midnight subeta time!! I'm really upset. I had hearts in the LOVE shop and now the link is gone. All the other shops that use the currency of the event (Esther's, Steamworks Menagerie) stay open all year. Nobody said that Louie's shop was going to disappear into the Underworld. And maybe it didn't, maybe it's a glitch, I hope so. It truly doesn't seem fair since people may have put their candy hearts in there expecting to have time to shop til at least midnight. I thought that if it DID disappear into the Underworld I would at LEAST have til midnight, when I thought the event was ending, to spend those hearts. I feel badly for ppl who might have had a LOT more than 70 hearts sitting in that shop....

I don't know about everyone else but my "almost done" because of this is more like a last straw type thing. Pandemic/Survival has always been my favorite event because of the zombie strains (plot or no plot) and IMO you don't really need a big plot to have added those in here. So on top of all the other changes/deletions to the site that used to be my favorite things to do around here (SubQ, trivia, quests) the site pretty much dumping my favorite part of the year has me about done with the site. That's me personally and why I've said that. I've honestly never cared one lick about Masquerade. I can dress up in a steampunk HA with a mask all 365 days of the year. I can even get other people to do it with me if I want to 'see all the pretty HAs'. But you could only become a zombie during Pandemic/Survival...until now. Heck, I could have dressed in a Masque HA and kissed for candy hearts and it would have been like Masquerade a whole month early. Even if there is a big plot for Masq I am honestly too disappointed with no strains and the site changes over the last 6-8months as a whole to even care about participating. It's kinda like someone telling you "Well, we've decided not to celebrate your birthday this year because we wanted to put all our effort into your siblings'. But we got everyone in the family some pretty new plates to use for dinner, you should be happy you got anything at all!"

When do we find out if we can still access The Love Shop after the event is over? Too late to spend our last hearts if we can't? I have over 500 left and don't wanna waste them. Maybe y'all can let us know that and let us know if the Love Shop is going to be a continuing shop during this celebration every year? i.e. new items every year in there.

Okay, are people not paying attention? There was plot for Luminaire, fairly big plot, There were a bunch of huge changes to the site during the Councilor's Cruise in August last. There have also been small plots in between, And yes, no new Zombies, And I did want new Zombies too, but oh well, us norms got to shop in the Zombie Den for two weeks without a new strain. We got a new pet colour, and a ton of new goodies. We also got Keith's assurance that there will be zombies again, but not ALWAYS during this event, that was what the Announcement he made said. He also said specifically they were saving steam for another event. If the Masque is Huge well then I can deal with no zombies, That's my personal favorite event anyway, The Masquerade, and that's what's coming up next. If y'all recall, The Masquerade has been about the same as this was, the last couple years, mostly just dancing and lots of new wears and collectibles. But no plot to speak of, so y'know, maybe we're due for a huge bash there this time. This is simple logic, They get to pick and choose what events are huge, that's not up to us, yes they listen to our feedback, and yes they apply changes as they see fit, it's their site. We are on here because of them, I am Moving on, getting my HA ready for the Masquerade, and just please stop being so nasty to each other over a FREE SITE EVENT, which they don't have to do for us. Those who are saying they are Done or almost done over this, why don't you wait and see what comes next? Try not looking the gift horse in the mouth. We're incredibly lucky that they do events like this at all.

I'm a little disappointed because I was expecting another plot this year continuing the Skitters/Fantine/Ecks arc as well as what the new zombie strains would be. But I can totally understand why there isn't given the site only just recovered from some horrific downtime and all that refreshing would create lag again.

Anyways, I sure hope the arc will pick up next year.

On the bright side, I have a lot less distraction now. :P

Say, by "zombies will still have access to their respective years," they mean the Zombie Den, right? I really don't want to go to the Underground only to find I can only access the slum area (which was the only area during 2011, when I got infected).

I am so disappointed. In the lack of Zombies, in the lazy 'event', in the staff not bother to tell us or explain ANYthing. I am almost done with Subeta. I used to feel so connected and involved. The downtimes and and slow servers were worth it because the staff treated us users like actual people and kept us in the loop and worked hard to make sure they made the events fun and exciting. Even when I didn't like something it was okay because at least they'd take the time to offer explanations. Its like the staff isn't even trying anymore. Why should I bother anymore if no one else does?

Although I was disappointed by the lack of zombies, it was a nice change...I've been finding the annual events on the site very redundant lately and I'm a bit happy the zombie infection wasn't predictable, like most of the years before. Looking forward to seeing what happens next :)

I kinda thought the first news post announcing the opening of the Survival Memorial was telling us there wouldn't be new zombie strains. Yes, Subeta sometimes pulls the rug out from under us, and wishful thinking kept hopes of new zombie strains alive, but I thought that news post was pretty clear.

Anyway, I liked the fact that this event was really low key, just as I loved the simple and stress-free Masq we had last year. These events sometimes get pretty overwhelming and I like these breaks in between. Having Survival, then Masq, then Vesnali back to back to back gets overwhelming (at least to me). Plus, we had the mini Greenhouse event and the Cruise last year, in addition to the new battle opponents during Luminaire. And the recent exciting developments in the battledome. (Of course non-battlers may not care about that so much.) Anyway, like some other users are saying, maybe we'll get a fun plot for Masquerade. And if we don't, I'm sure the Subeta Team has other fun stuff in store for us.

And thank you for the heads-up regarding when the event will end cause that's always appreciated.

I wish I would've known this was it instead of getting myself so hyped up for the last few weeks. The item releases and the new pet colors were gorgeous and fantastic, all is well and good but this... With this being it and no warning that this was just a love fest with no zombies, it drops the overall excitement about everything for me.

Just want to reiterate what I mentioned on the forums earlier: it's not the lack of zombies that's annoying, it's the lack of being told there wouldn't be any.

I adore the new items and pets, I'm gonna get one very soon and have spent a bunch of hearts in the new shop. But I think a note before or very soon after the start of the event would have been good. From the actual staff rather than NPCs, since NPCs are hardly a solid source of accurate info.

But otherwise thank you very much for all the new stuff, the items and pet art is to die for :D

, it's been like that for a while If you're a zombie from 2011 you can't get the items from 2010 but if you're from 2010 you have access to all items that have been released since then It is a way to get people to actually keep their disease instead of curing every year This is nothing that they are just changing now

I was disappointed when Pandemic didn't start like I thought it would. I think a lot of that was because I was afraid that it mean that there would never be any new strains, never be a Skitters/Ecks/Fantine continuing story, and having looked forward to it overly much, it felt sad and disappointing not knowing.

However, I thought that, even though different than I expected, it worked out. The new shop was fun. Candy hearts as currency was a great idea. New pet colors are always exciting! Plus, after that one horrible crashing, laggy episode...the site has been running so much more smoothly than it has for a long time with heavy traffic during an event. The staff is always awesome, and I'm very excited about the possibility of having a chance at a plot during some of the other events instead of just Pandemic. Would love a Masquerade plot again! :)

I know change isn't easy, and I think not having warning that there'd be no new strains this year for those who cured just for this event, it was a bit hard. But I look forward to the future, great events I know are being planned and just wanted to say thanks for all your hard work and for the fun times. :)

I'm going shopping for dresses and masks, now. Bring on Masquerade!!! :D

I'm still a bit sad that there were no new infection this year and so on, so I can really understand all who are unhappy and complain. But I don't complain because it is really far to much to handle both, the Masquerade and the Infections. Not only for staff, but at least for me too! I would love to see that this events get separated, so we would have one of the events much later in the year. AND we shouldn't forget: there is also Vesnali coming very fast after this two events! I'd wished the Masquerade would have shifted though. But I'm ok with how it was done and that is why I didn't complain and I wont. Hey, even if all those Zombie-Stuff would be put together with the Morostide event, maybe as a new plot would be OK for me, and then we would only have one event in the future! But whatever staff will do, nobody can tell how amazing it can be right now. Maybe we will even get a possibility to get another stain next time without giving up the long time zombieness^^ Or something even more marvelous will happen! Anyway. I really like Subeta, and even if I'm complaining here and there (But as far as I remember rarely on the events itself), as long as it will be here, giving us so many great and lovely events, I will be here too! And if there will be an event I don't like that much... hey, next one always can make up for ot!

The complainers should just go and build their own site to see the difficulty involved with any event like the ones that are hosted here,Do you people not understand the amount of planning, coding, and other preparation it takes for these? Then to be expected to repeat the same thing over and over is just boring,I was thrilled with the overall theme of things this year,I love the new pet color,So much so that I plan on having 4 of the sweetheart pets xD

I am looking forward to see what is in store for masquerade,I adore it as much as i do pandemic/survival :D

I looked forward to the Zombies too. Can understand with so many back to back events this time of the year to do something different. It is draining and by the end I'm like whew glad that it's over. With Keith saying they are not gone and should not be expected at the same time every year is comforting. So that gives room for all sorts of possibilities!

New items and pet colors are always appreciative.

People shouldn't be afraid or feel intimidated to the point where they cannot express their opinions publicly. If everyone "shut the fuck up," there would be no feedback. I'd dare call it censorship. I've seen sites where no negative feedback was allowed. I'm not sure if you've experienced that before, but let me tell you, it was scary. All this la la laaa everything is fine when it really isn't~ feeling. It's disheartening to see people complaining about other people complaining. Maybe instead of automatically labeling people as whiners, others should realize what they are actually trying to say. Yes, people should express themselves with tact, but that goes for both sides, and even though your stfu wasn't directed towards any one particular user, it was still offensive to me. ;s /shrugs

WHAT?!! WHAT THE FUCKING HELL?! Why are you only granting us access to our respective years? Before we had access to all years except for the ones you retired before hand. This is severely unfair to all zombies. Only those who kept their original diseases will be able to access the really rare stuff and of course, make a fortune off of it. How can you be so discriminate? We're all zombies, we should all have access to all items available!
