Thanks for the update, and it's totally understandable! Thanks also for bringing the birdies back when everything's fixed :)
This is an old, known bug.
That certainly DID work. Some users even opted in and sent birds around for free, because prices were high. I myself own all the birds, so could use them, when needed. It's just , that you lost out on receiving a bird on those days.
I suggested taking the land specific birds out of the pool - I guess, they must be flagged, so they become items asked for in the game. thus simply removing the flag would do the trick? Someone must have added this year's new birds to the pool, to begin with...
Thanks for the update! Angry? heck no, there are much worse things to think about these days. Have a beautiful week!
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.

Thank you for the update! But wasn't Bird Watching supposed to end by the end of August anyway?
Some thoughts to your post:
it certainly worked for me to grab a bird from elsewhere (shops, or in some cases, vault) and present it
unlike all the other floating holiday items, the birds don't overwrite each other. So it didn't matter from which tab I clicked it if I had more than one open (like when collecting income for my pets, they are bookmarked and open all at once). I wish this would be true for all other floating items, too ;-)
Thanks for the update and future work on this.
Grabbing elsewhere did work for me. It was just not getting the birds that was the issue. I think I ended up with half the birds I should have from the event because of the glitch.
thank you for the update! And no anger or aggression over here. I know I was one of the first to mention why staff hadn't replied, but it wasn't really an anger thing, more confusion because you guys are so incredible at staying on top of things. There are far more things to be upset about then a few pixel birds on a website that brings me a lot of joy. Thank you again <3
Not angry of course, but certainly frustrated that this is the status quo we've had to come to expect. Re-released "bugs" that were previously fixed but now nobody remembers how or the previous patch doesn't now work with the three servers are not new and have been going on during Survival for instance for years. The users have to come together to warn each other not to use this-or-that feature, or to exploit workarounds just to access site content.
That this issue would keep popping up again every year and be completely baffling to staff who appear to have never heard of it or know how the event actually works is just something we're all becoming resigned to, and that's what's frustrating. Then whichever staff you can finally get hold of go away to talk to unspecified "the programmers" and maybe the broken content quietly starts working (until next year) or maybe it closes before we can use it. In any case we'd just have to start the conversation again next year, by proving again to a staff member that yes, the programming is actually doing something unintended so that maybe they'll pass it on to "the programmers". That's just Subeta now for us.
Even when Subeta was paying a PR spokesperson, we couldn't get more complete information; direct contact from anyone who knew how the site programming worked; or mostly anything better than "I heard you and told someone, and that's all I can say". Ditto for the various changelogs and Keith's workflow pages that mostly last a couple of weeks each.
Thanks for the update Amber. Hope it will be an easy fix.
The issue with that was the price of the regional birds. People either found the 2 boards loaning them out to move on or gave up.

Thank you for the update Amber, I really appreciate it a lot and no venting from me either, just a letting off a little frustration about the stubborn birds not wanting to cooperate with any of us at all. Have a great and wonderful upcoming weekend!

I also wanted to chime in and say thank you for the update. I was never angry about it; much like some others, I was just confused because we hadn't heard anything. Slightly disappointed at the time, yes. But also I'm fully aware it takes a massive effort to keep things running as smoothly as they do. Certainly no anger or need to vent. I'm grateful that there will be another chance for birds! (And even if there weren't, that would be ok too and understandable.)
To Amber and Destiny both, thank you guys for all the hard work and listening to us/helping when you can. <3
Thanks, Amber!! was about to think I missed the last few days of bird watching if it wasn't for this ping, lol

Thanks for the update!
I guess the lack of angy people is what most concerns me. People are getting used to stuff breaking and don't even expect them ever getting fixed anymore. Communication (or lack thereof) has been a long time issue. As an old user, the older birds not appearing weren't an issue for me (like others said, pulling them out of my gallery to turn them in again worked to move along with the event), but it's the newer users this was important to. And those would be the ones you would want to keep happy and interested so they keep returning to Subeta and start spending money...
This is not the end of bird watching this year.
I&;m going to sit down with soon ...
...some very serious deadlines this past week...
Once we determine why...
...frustration with lack of communication...
In case anyone is wondering, what happened today after the site got fixed? The bird I needed weeks ago popped up, just now!
Oh, that's hilarious! Hopefully that bodes well for our next birdwatching event.
