I'd love to have chickens of my own. However, I have rabbits, skunks, possum, coyotes, and the occasional fox on my property. Watching all them critters is enough for me right now. :)

Oh, Lord! NOTHING bothered me more than someone who was trying to tell you a story but then kept wandering off on countless sidetracks in the process. I could and did keep dragging them back to the story. My mother was particularly guilty of this.

i know. in mds offices my hubby gets wayyyy off point. being in the medical firld i know how on the point the answers need to be..so i would touch his leg and answer the question thus cutting him off...soon the doc would look at ME to answer his question geeeeshhhhh

My mother was a registered nurse and I'm sure on the medical side she was all business. But my goodness, she was an awful storyteller! And the worst of it was she never could get it through her head that the rest of us did NOT want to hear her hospital stories at dinner...I have no idea how many times we would all shout her down when she started one.

Yes. Chickens dream. Their dreams, like ours, are probably based upon emotions. They might dream of scary predators or spying hawks passing over head. They surely dream about love. They must dream about their adventures, fantasies, food and friendship. I wonder if they ever wake up sad, that things were ever only a dream. Or do they sometimes wake up relieve to find reality different?

Yes, Mom's idea of a dinner story didn't set well with the rest of us. I think most nurses (and maybe doctors) do the same. I was at a dinner party at Christie's one time and Laura, a nurse, was there. She told a revolting story that she thought was hilarious. In the middle of dinner. The rest of us were just sickened and she couldn't understand why.

Dogs dream too. Several of mine would dream bark and I'm pretty sure they were having great adventures. I'm kind of sad for one of my new dogs, Mimi. She'll be asleep beside me on the bed and she'll start whimpering. I kind of wonder if she's dreaming about her old family and missing them.

My dog whimpers when dreaming too. I think it's about chasing something that it can't catch or get something that is out of reach.

awww first of the fox just let the duck walk off...lucky duck!! chickens dreams i think all dream and would love a petting or stroke when dreaming to pull them into.... it is ok lil bird!!!! my lil lovebird dreams n peeeeeps once in the ,iddle of the night,..n i click with my tongue n she peeps once n we can sleep again. i am directly connected to her n benny all night..now BOBBY hahahaha might be on his own more or lesss hahahahah. he DOES wake me when i am in a night fright phase, i have a medice directly for nightmares and it has helped me tenfold!!! i still dream but not intense horrifying once like i used to.

My cats definitely dream. Sometimes they twitch and make those ecking bird-watching noises and I leave them to their dreams. Other times they make stressed out sounding whimpers, then I’ll gently stroke their back until they calm down. I think they have nightmares about being back in the pound. Chickens can be fun to keep either as livestock or as pets who happen to lay eggs. I had a house-hen once who was even litterbox trained.

A Dog's Dream

Woof! Light and faint. Legs are trembling. What is my dog dreaming? Running in the wind? Humping a leg? I hope its not mine! Woof! His eyes are fluttering like butterfly wings. Maybe a possum is in his food again. Could be a bird at the feeder. The dream comes and goes. Is it the same or a progression? Woof! I give him a quick nudge. He wakes up looking at me. It seems he is trying to say something. What is it boy? Tell me...... Woof-means hello. Woof, Woof-means goodbye. He does it three times. Woof, Woof, Woof-means leave me alone, I'm having a dogs dream.

omg you had an indoor chicken pet i LOVE YOU that is sooo cool.in Kauai they have free range chickens everywhere..kindalike any other bird ahahaha was so much fun to see them. nice long strokes would surely calm a kitty!!!

i had peruvian guineapigs (with long hair) running around in my ourdoor aviary once..i mad them burlap ramps to climb into new and fun spaces i created for them the many finch breeds andddddd a lil bunnyu. the tight burlap is easier for the mto crawl on up!!!

I had guinea pigs in my outside aviary too. THey were great cleaning up the seed.
