I like Bananas' idea about integrating the current quest system alongside the new one. Keep old quests for quest point, add new NPCs for us to quest under the new system. (It might need some quest reductions/increases to keep things balanced.)
I also am not happy with no longer having quest points, and I think the moment that Subeta converts everyone's quest points into sP is going to cause the economy to go nuts as players suddenly have a ton of sP to spend and desirable items skyrocket in price. I don't like that items I can buy now in the quest shop will be locked behind reputation. I do think it'd be better to start reputation fresh with new NPCs.
I also wonder about the numbers for other activities on the site. IIRC, early in this thread, Keith said only 15% of players do quests on a day, and only 2% complete them. (Does that include Sarah/Sagittarius? Battle? Major Drills? Because those are outliers.) But what about user activity for other features. I really want to know the stats on Recycling. IMHO, that is the worst slog on this site, and the price of Ametsuchi compared to other legendary weapons implies I'm not the only one who feels that way. IMHO, I really want to see Recycling overhauled first. Could Recycling and Fragging be merged? Maybe say one buys out the other, then we can just frag all the items we want for crystals/recycle points (call it whatever you want, but the two currencies would be merged into one, reducing the overall currencies on site). Then players could purchase crystal shop and recycle shop items from the same store. Or incorporate Recycling into the new quest system. (Please, do something about Recycling.)
Other things could be done on Subeta to generate user interest. A whole new pet specie. A whole new pet color. Art/writing contests. Quest-a-thon, Epicon, Reading Drive, Restock War. Making it so the battle system isn't so time-consuming and expensive to develop a good battle pet; make the battle system easier to understand, give more challengers that everyone can access without a paywall. A new plot. New jobs, and maybe more interaction with the job system.
It also seems like there's a lot of issues with the new quests, especially the item pools. I can't say I'm thrilled about 100% of quests operating under that. I also don't understand the logic of "Players don't spend enough time on Subeta, so let's make questing go even faster so they get done quicker and move on to something else elsewhere."
I also don't think there's anything Subeta can do to stop some players from hoarding currencies. IRL, many of us have gone through times when budgets are tight, or we've been taught to be frugal, or we've had an emergency hit, or we feel safer if we have a financial cushion, or whatever the case may be. Subeta could have an array of items of all uses, for all kinds of prices, that appeal to all kinds of people, that can be used all kinds of ways on site, that look pretty, that make pets stronger, than spiffy up avatars, that go into collections, that can be used for battles, that are rewards and gifts, that are part of achievements...(And Subeta already has all the above) and many players would still choose to save their currencies and have a cushion first before buying things because that's how those players are wired. Trying to make it so players don't have more than five million sP on hand at any time or whatever is not going to work. And it's not a bad thing that players collect currency; that is the way they play Subeta, and it is just as valid as those who spend all their points from the get-go.
(On another topic...is anyone noticing their upvotes don't stick? I upvote posts, refresh the page, and my upvotes vanish from other's posts.)
Reputation won’t suddenly lock people out of stuff they already have access to. All available quest shop items will be available in the first tier if I remember correctly. Prizes locked behind tiers will only be for new things.
I do think the quests are too narrow scoped right now. Only asking for certain items, giving out certain prizes. I’m sure this will expand when they are fully released since this is only testing.
Tried to do the Sag quests today, he asked for the same 5M item (Regenerating Pylonic) all three times, each time I quit because that's way too much. Can something be done so that the same item is not requested multiple quests in a row, espeically if the quest is cancelled instead of fufilled?
Maybel quests never seem to reset with the others, I keep getting "Error choosing quest items. This means the pool can't provide any items for this quest, try again in a few minutes."
I'm also still confused why the quests start at "6/3" and then count down to "3/3" ?? That number should either start at 0/3 and count up to 3/3 "completed" or start at 3/3 and count down to 0/3 "available" .
Are these quests slated to eventually be run with the cron and reset at midnight server time? Because how it works now is very confusing, they don't seem to reset on any consistant schedule? That's fine if its just for the testing phase, but in the future, daily or every 24hrs or something should be stated.

Same issue as above with Maleria and Sagittarius both asking for the same Regenerating Pylonic for all but 1 of their quests. Then Rumi asked for an item that is 888,888. Please fix this. :-(
When I tried Miss Maybel's quest, I get the following message: "Error choosing quest items. This means the pool can't provide any items for this quest, try again in a few minutes."
let us not make everything here too easy... like in real life,,, you usually have to work hard to get what you want... making everything too easy,,, in my opinion,,, will not make Subeta a better place... i know if i need sp then i need to take the time to do quests,,, play games,,, stock my shop,,, and other things i probably am not remembering right now... this site has been around quite a while and i would like to see it continue... i realize you have to try to balance a bunch of moving parts here and do appreciate the effort... just be careful not to ruin what you have built over the years...
For the new quests, I'm currently at 6/3 quests and when I complete them it gradually goes down to 3/3. Can't hit 0 anymore.
I like the new format - it's so much easier to play on mobile. I used to play quests to help me fall asleep at night because they're so dull, so I'm happy about the change. Some feedback:
Thanks for all the time you're taking to get these running
I am completely flabbergast and in awe that people are able/choose to quest or battle on mobile - I barely manage to to use bookmarked holiday one clicks or tediously send my pets into training - scroll, enlarge, search the button, more scrolling on that tiny screen... Ever since PCs made it into private homes I had about the largest monitors available at any given time and I need two windows side by side to play Subeta efficiently and fast, still spending hours here every day. And for Kumos, because display/layout is completely broken, I can't even use the browser I have specifically chosen for playing Subeta. It's the only one, that opens a new window on the other side of the active one (otherwise I would have to consistently keep moving that new window to the other side, to see both). Chapeau.
To anyone asking, when resets happen: we get an event for that now!
I don't know if these have been answered already, but:
Are the Quest NPCs who don't currently have new quests for them going to? So far, only the Wizard, Saggitarius, and Maleria do. Will Carl, Cinthia, Mori and Nori, Alexander, Pete, and Sarah have new quests eventually? Or will they be re-worked ino other site features? (I guess Sarah sort of already has that with helping new users).
Will the Blue Building, Battle, Shinwa, and Major Drills quests also be re-worked into new quests of some kind or other site features? And the Oracle as well?
I'm just a bit worried about these quest NPCs who we have known for years losing relevance and being completely forgotten even though there's loads of items to do with them. Like how there used to be a balloon shop with an NPC there (I don't even remember their name). Or how fishing used to be run by an Ontra. Or the tanning and hair NPCs in one of the older wardrobes. They have hardly any items to do with them, though, but I think the fishing Ontra does have his own trading card.
I do like how having new quests involving other known NPCs can give them more relevance, though, like how you've done with Maybel and Rumi so far. It would be nice to see that with some of the Shengui Guo NPCs (bringing soaps and towels and stuff to the Bathhouse, maybe?), or other NPCs that don't get brought up that much anymore or outside of events/new items or pet colours which they don't get much of anymore or at all (the Islanders, Yun Enterprises, Genetech, the Carnival etc.). There's so many characters and if there's not going to be any more plots or events anytime soon, giving them some quests with a reputation system will make them feel more involved and relevant. They don't even all have to have their own shops, or at least not with loads of items like the Quest Shop items, or if they do, instead of making a load of new items right away, they could have some older items related to them (maybe even old plot prizes that have yet to go in the Antique shop or aren't planned to go in there).
Testing today: I seem to be lucky or Saggi likes me, but he didn't want me to get the Pylonic at all. I didn't get any doubled requests, too. The rewards feel low to me, especially Saggi - but I'm no subetan economy expert so I'm not commenting on that xD
Some quests gave me the option: Buy From Weapons Warehouse (2,801sP, 0 in stock) which obvs didn't work.
Still loving the reputation system.
Also the easier item search grows on me. I still miss the user shop list tho. Maybe you could give us a toggle option ("visit user shops" that opens the shop list, or "buy the cheapest available" that does just that)?
Also also I keep coming back to the "more agency" thing because it still feels to instant gratification-y. Since I'm on Subeta for almost 20 years (don't talk to me about the passage of time, pleaseee) I do love all the NPCs and I would love to interact more with them than just, you know, throw money at them. Would it be possible to give them an additional fetch quest that sends us around Subeta? What I was thinking about: After we've done all x quests from the random NPCs, one of them could ask for another thing. Like, "oh hey, since you're done questing for today, do you have time to meet me at Centropolis/make me this scroll here's the recipe/battle this basic enemy that super angered me/find my floating item around the site/etc"? with the extra reward being anything from 5 CSC to 1 reputation to (insert whatever makes sense for the economy). That way there would be a bonus for finishing the quests, something for us to interact with the world/other systems and something for the NPCs to show more personality?
Unrelated: It's so wild that Keith is the only programmer! I'm totally amazed by this! ö-ö
I only found out about these quests changes yesterday (19/2/25) via a news post and I've tried reading through about 8 pages to see what's going on but I still don't really get it.
the quests main page says 6/3 for everything, but then I only get to do 3 quests for each NPC. what is this supposed to mean?
An option to switch back to the default layout (of the item with a 'search shops button. Not necessarily the original site) on the original site where you click through to the shop search page would be better. Like many others, I will use questing to restock or buy items I need for collections, gallery or wardrobe. I also sometimes prefer not to use the cheapest shop if it's someone with dozens or more of an item because I'd rather my SP go to someone with less money. 🤷♀️
Less pages being made means less chance for random events too. Sometimes I'll just do every single quest so that I'm clicking the pages and getting anchance for random events, some of which have achievements attached to them.
My main objectives on the site, when I have the time to be here, are quests to get SP/Wiz Tokens which I very often store to get achievements when I have the time/effort, buy things for collections, a gallery or to spoil friends. I don't appreciate that people saving their different currencies in this way are being called out as a negative thing. The problem isn't that people store these currencies, it's that the way the site works with random restocks or higher prices in each currency, or needing/wanting multiple of an items means that people need to save their currencies. The fact that some of the currencies take a lot to get - Crypts, anyone - and you have to carrfully decide what to spend it on is also a factor for many people.
I'm not opposed to the reputation tiers and it unlocking new items along the way, but I do feel that it will likely benefit those with more time and available funds - due to having to pay SP for everything in the news shops - and just make the rich, richer like always. As others have pointed out, only having a random pool of NPC quests to do will make that even more of an issue because people that may not be able to get on every day will be missing the opportunity to grow their reputation with certain NPCs by a significant amount.
My subscripton/access to a gold account is used primarily for extra quests and the autopricer. I play on my mobile phone, on the original site. I find the Kumos site really difficult to navigate and paying each month for such a reduction in quests/ability to access items in the way I want to and on a site I am uncomfortable with is not at all appealing to me. It makes me feel like the 16.5 years I've been here will have been a bit of a waste really as I'll just end up leaving out of frustration instead of coming and enjoying the website when I have the capacity to do so.
Oh and as of today, the shop search purchase isn't an option on the quest page so I have to manually check if itst in stock anyway. 😆
Bug (or I assume bug): Because I had a quest unfinished that ran out of time yesterday for both Rumi and Saggi, it rolled over to today and counted as one of my daily ones despite being a failure. So I was only able to do two for both of them rather than three.
Just done Mabel's quests. For items that restocked in the Candy Shop, I had the option to purchase from there despite it saying "0 in stock" - when selected it would give an error.
For minions in stock at the Minion Mart, there was no NPC shop option to select. So I only bought from user shops as I'm on mobile and trying to manually search is a pain.
As a side note - I'm typing this on mobile on Kumos and it has totally overriden my phone autocorrect / capitalisation so nothing works and I have to capitalise and correct mistakes manually. It also did not follow the text across the screen so I had to zoom all the way out to be able to see what I'm typing. I'm in the trenches. EDIT: I had to go over to the old site to be able to post this - tried 3 times on Kumos and no dice.
The price and availability of items in NPC shops is consistently incorrect when questing on Kumos.
Just Saw shops in kumos and dont understand why the price matches the user shop prices
Reestocking is supposed to let the user gain over Said item
Mixed feelings about this 🤔
biting for all strains!
I've received this error twice today when doing the quests. It seems like you lose the quest when this pops up.

I love this idea. I too am NOT a fan of this new system, I am trying to stay open minded and positive, however, it has so many issues that people have pointed out. I may not do all the quests but it is something I like to do and look forward to doing it. I also like the old system and knowing where I am buying the item from. Often times, if it is a book, I will buy multiples while doing the search to read to my pets. This new system is one and done.
Also, I noticed today there were several issues with the search options. It would give me an option to buy from the shop yet "0" were available.
This will be long, sorry. I'll try to make it as structured as possible.
General feedback:
Wizard Quests: It's a bit sad the wizard doesn't ask for underwear anymore :P Links to wizard exchange and quest shop on quest page don't work.
Payouts Saggi win: 30-60K per quest Wizard win: ca. 8-10k per quest. 50p token per quest is nice and closer to the 250/350 token you can make on legacy site. Still quite a bit of a difference. Mabel win: under 5K per quest (plus items)
Quest shop:
Main Shops: And... is that the new shop layout? And function? o.O
So, very curious to see where this goes!
