is the kumos.subeta site running insanely slow for anyone else? like taking just about 5 minutes now to load a single page. I somehow was able to start a Ms. Maybel quest about 5-7 minutes ago, but haven't been able to do much with it. And now I'm getting an "SSL Handshake failed" screen

Update 7:14pm: OK things are loading! I like the new format of the quests so far.

It takes much longer to complete the quests this way. I have to find each item first. Click each of them to turn them in and then I get the complete quest button. That's too many steps. Instead of taking a minute max, each quest now takes 5 or more minutes. So frustrating.

I like the idea of these floaty quests! I think it would be better if there was also a 'complete' button on the quest giver page, because I usually open all the shop searches in different windows and then close them to return to the quest giver.

The floaty quest bar at the top is also slooooooooooooow. I think that's a Kumos issue right now, honestly, but I completed 5 - 10 old Subeta quests in the time while I was waiting for each of my 'Turn In' buttons to appear and accept that I'd clicked them on Kumos.

When Kumos isn't mega slow, I like these new quests a lot! My suggestions:

  • Stacking quests from multiple quest givers? Right now if I have multiple quests open it only shows me one at the top of the screen, could I see all of them and then do all my shop searching at once?

  • There should also be a 'complete' button on the quest giver page. I usually open new tabs to do my shop searches, then return to the quest giver at the end. There would be way less clicks if I didn't have to select 'turn in' for every item and could give them in bulk to the quest giver.

  • Alternatively - a 'turn in all' option in the top bar?

  • It should be easier to start a new quest once has been turned in. Right now it looks like I can complete a quest, which takes me to my prizes, but then I have to click the quest giver's name again to see if I still have quests remaining for them, then I can start again.

Absolutely awful change, a complete step back from before. Trying to do anything on kumos takes a good 2+ minutes to get it to load, so now instead of finishing the quests immediately you have to turn in items one... by.... one... and... complete.... quest. Only nothing happens when I click complete quest. The quest's time ran out because it refused to complete.

And everything is tiny and squished up at the top of the screen while the rest of the quest page sits there uselessly, not a shop search button, not even a finish quest button down there.

No way. Not doing it like this.

oh ermmm i don't think i like this... why is everything scattered all over the page? why am i being asked to individually turn in each item one at a time? why can i not complete the quest directly from the actual quest page? why does the user shop search have to be separate from being able to see whether (and for how much) an item is available in a main shop, or my own shop? why can i not start a new quest directly after finishing the last one?

the nice thing about the (previous) new quest setup was that you could do it all on the one page, and with fewer quests overall, this required less clicking, less tab juggling, and encouraged me to actually do all my quests. now it's all the hassle of the legacy quest system PLUS the obtrusive interface PLUS the lag & issues with responsiveness PLUS the confusing order of operations that results in struggling to strategize the opening and closing of tabs and when and in which tab to click which button and...

so in the amount of time it was previously taking me to do several quests in a row, i can now only do one. if the goal was to streamline quests and make them something players are more inclined to engage with as opposed to avoiding out of frustration/feeling overwhelmed, it kind of seems like this is having the exact opposite effect.

Sorry for the double post up there! Kumos crashed and I couldn't tell if the first one went through so I rewrote my thoughts.

I also think Pete has had more than enough Blueberry Fruit Chews for one day... seems like he asks for them in every quest.

It literally took me 15 minutes to turn in the items for a quest. No matter how many times I clicked the turn in, it would not turn the item in.

pokes up my head from the depths of the lair of a non-poster Do not like this newest version. I have been clicking for 15 minutes to try to Complete Quest for the Wiz and nothing has happened. And before that it took far too long to get the Turn In buttons to register that I was clicking them. I suppose that the time will count down and I will just lose out on yet another quest. (I had tried to do some quests a couple of nights ago, got kicked off kumos and was only able to get back in about 30 minutes ago due to the server error page popping up every time, and was told that my quest had expired.)

I like the shop sp price shows up on hover, means i only have to load the shop search to compare instead of both.

I still wish we didn't have to turn in each individual item, and 'complete quest' would just become available once we had all the items in our inventory.

the lag is so bad today. Its taken about 20 minutes to try and 'turn in' one item, still waiting to see if it will work as the timer ticks down.

there's also layering issues with the "click to get a hover item window" in the quest bar thing. the hover will appear under the other items and be mostly unreadable/clickable, and it also causes the quest bar thing to expand and get bigger. which is fine for me on desktop but i'm sure will be a headache on mobile.

I also get frustrated that the "click to get a hover item window" doesn't work consistantly. there are times/places that clicking an item on kumos just doesn't open anything.

not quest related, but i believe the same is true of wishlist indicators on kumos, i don't think they're showing up consistantly.

There's also times that small windows will open and then there's no way to close them. this has been true of the "click to get a hover item window" and some things in the forums.

alright, back to trying to get this quest to turn in, then running away from kumos until everyone is asleep and this lag hopefully goes away.

---well the first time it tried to post this it didn't work and i did end up timing out of that quest. frustrating that the timer doesn't lag along with the site lol

The “turn in” and “complete quest” buttons are either so unresponsive or so slow that quests are undoable for me now. I got through one and gave up.

Edit to add: I didn’t get through one, it won’t complete. Also I don’t have bad lag on the site in the general, at least not bad enough to be consistent with how badly these buttons are working.

I wasn’t a huge fan of quests being completable with a single click; I’d be into this change if it wasn’t so broken.

This still takes way too long to complete. Also, there isn't a back to main quests page. I liked it much better when you didn't have to open a new page for each item just to either purchase, take from my shop, vault or inventory. I like the check boxes beside each of these options that was there before. I also find the new set up confusing. The items are listed above and below but the ones listed below don't have any options beside them. Why are they even there if the set up above are the ones you interact with?

I'm also being absolutely slaughtered by lag. The only way to finish a single quest in less than 5 minutes is to purchase the items on the non-kumos site, and then it still takes about three minutes to submit the items and complete the quest. Having to submit them individually and then click a third button to complete the quest is e x c r u c i a t i n g with this amount of lag.

I like that you don't have to open multiple pages to buy your items, however, turning them in one by one, sucks. It's very time consuming. Plus it takes about 5min to complete one quest, if the site decides to function properly.

Kumos site is also awful on mobile. Everything is squished together

For me, I don't mind the new quest section being at the top but would prefer to have the radio buttons back, it made questing quicker and more convenient (ie. not needing to go to each item's Search page to buy the item).

Also, I don't think it should be necessary that we need to click "Turn In" for each item before we can click "Complete Quest". Once the user has all the items on their account, the Complete Quest button should automatically be enabled.

It takes SO much longer to just complete one quest with this new set-up. On the legacy site, I can complete 15 quests in 3 minutes. Even without the lag completely plaguing the kumos site right now, the immense amount of scrolling I need to do with the header as well as site spacing (I'm on mobile) makes it incredibly tedious to navigate and complete one quest. In addition, the number of button clicks and page refreshes to complete a quest seems excessive. With all this combined with the lag, I pretty much am having to use the entire alloted 30 minutes to complete a single quest, which would definitely turn me away from doing multiple quests in a day. I like the basic quests to be something I can do quickly and easily when I have a minute of spare time. While legacy is still my favorite quest set-up, I much prefer any of the previous kumos versions over this current one.

Edited to add: I think this current set up may be more conducive to quests that require multiple actions aside from just getting items to turn in (for example, Major Drills, when he asks you to frag, vend, delete items, play games, gift users, etc--things you have to navigate to multiple areas of the site) once you have completed an action, you wouldn't have to go back to the main page to remember what else you need to do, it'd be right there. But I look at these as completely different than the typical item retrieval quests. Overall, even on legacy, i'm expecting Drills quests to take longer and I only choose to do those quests when I have the time and am in the mood to do something more involved (which isn't a daily thing). For them, I also like to pick and choose which of the requests seem interesting to me that day. Just a thought that maybe different types of quests (items vs actions vs other) can have different set ups based on what makes more sense for the quest (ie top scroll bar for drills/other "action" quests and the old set-up for saggi/wizard/all of the other "item" quests.
