There's nothing like a planned battle win reset to get me to finally do the battling I've procrastinated for years on! I'm also super interested in knowing if there's any kind of vague prediction for when this reset may happen. I would love to be able to get all my battles in without totally burning myself out, lol.

With this new upcoming reset, my battle pet will go to 10 instead of hodgepodge numbers. I’ll check to see if I’m missing any challengers.
When was the last reset? Can’t remember.
Maybe we can use the cleansing pool to take away stats of our choice for sP. sP dump. Way better than leeches.
Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Ohhhh a reset? It's been years. Maybe I'll finally push for the cap again XD.
Ooooh just thinking, with the reset I wonder if some / any of the challengers are going to get new loot....
I wanna say the last major reset was 2014-2015? I'm probably wrong.
Thanks. I know we’ve been through a few of these. Lol.

Hey, this might motivate me to get back into things. If nothing else a battle reset will mean a ton of easy exp for the pets in training.
also please please please please rerelease one or more of the old ice godlies or a new one, it's literally the only element where the god weapons are completely unobtainable unless you were good at battling when they were first released like a decade ago
Oh good to know! I was just going to finally save up for abetter battle set for my main pet. Now I can wait and see if there are weapons that are a better fit. I will probably still need help, but at least I know not to dive into it right now.
sbslink
oh kinda scared but very excited i'm so behind on battling, oh no, time to grind before the reset, gotta squeeze out any last tomes i can possibly reach xD

You Won! You have defeated Biting Cake
Gremlin earned 3500 EXP Points!
Miss you too, buddy, but glad I don't have to work on this :P
A few random thoughts/suggestions that aren't necessarily related to what's being revamped but would add to quality of life:
• Cross referencing what item unlocks what challenger.
Most of the items are not self-explanatory via item name or description, and going "clay sorta effigy with pink stones" is not helpful to the visually impaired or those of us with 100+ cash shop challengers. This might apply to a couple others I think (that black pumpkin... wasn't there a sphinx? I don't remember), but this is namely regarding the cash shop challengers.
Idk even just "This item unlocks -challengers name-" in the item description would be helpful.
• Having a locked list of challengers?
Honestly unless I buy it day off or an unread book pops up on my list I have absolutely no idea what challengers I have or don't have. There's means of figuring out CS challengers, I could always just make a custom list on sLodge or something, but the hidden ones... I have absolutely no idea what I have or don't have at this point.
• Battle "antique shop"?
I remember the last challenger reset (or several) and how loot weapons tanked in value so we got new loot. Not saying that's going to happen this time around, but eventually old loot becomes hard or impossible to find. If the antique shop concept was applied to old loot* it could be battle tokens or an sP sink.
• I'm done with this challenger toggle.
Like the achievements sorta? Where you can check the box to save it to a list? Because ngl my first thought upon seeing an impending challenger reset was "I should battle all the things" and then promptly lost interest because I have absolutely no idea what I've battled or not battled.
I could go by pet and click through all their wins and cross reference that to what I have unlocked.... or I could just close the tab and go back to Ao3. Which is exactly what I did. There's just too many.
Otherwise curious to see how this revamp will turn out. I don't envy the endeavor at all, best of luck 😂
Ohhh, i'm intrigued. And going to need to figure out which opponents I've been procrastinating hitting some achievements on before they get reset.

I'm hoping the rebalancing of defense will help shore up the hole that unobtainable ice blockers have left! Like not make them entirely useless but make other stuff more viable. It isn't exactly as if you CAN'T get around having the best ice blockers, it's just a little more annoying haha.
But getting to own a Sandreaver wouldn't NOT be cool...
Hey let's revisit these comments and take to heart what's being said if we're going to do a battle system revamp :)
I'd take a new ice godly that does its own things so I don't have to keep trying to save hopelessly for a Sandreaver. Orrrrrrrrrrrrr.....I dunno.....maybe make a godly box available in the battle shop for like 20,000 Impossible tokens (maybe more like...2000 I dunno)? Just spitballin' here. At least then I can say I earned my Sandreaver or a chance at one instead of trying to get to 9bil to just splurge on a stupid box.

I've got to open my mouth. I know, I know, it's not popular!
This announcement has brought on mixed feelings. I didn't realize healing was broken, although I've long thought healing on lower tier weapons was not adequate. Percentage heals seems like the best approach to fix these gaps, but I probably don't understand battling enough to get why a flat heal is better? Defense seemed a bit off, and I was working my build around that, so I understand it needing attention.
The bold print in 's comment is a bit concerning. The 'reset' seems like a carrot on a stick, distracting us from the eventual smackdown we're all facing. LOL As if the reset wasn't enough, I am seeing a lot of hands out. I don't want anything; I just don't want anything taken away. When I returned from my very long hiatus last year, I was far behind in the world of battling. My pet had roughly 1300 stats each in health/str/def/speed. I couldn't even use the only full block weapon I had because the system had changed and I was not in a high enough tier. I trained. I battled. I participated in the Gelatin War, battled Hydragellos over 2,000 times in the most disgusting lag I've ever encountered on the internet (and I had dial-up in the 90s), and won the ingredients to make my second full block weapon. I trained. In October, while sick with covid and a high grade fever, I battled Rouland for my water block weapon. In November during the Black Friday sale, I completed my bobblehead collection for my wind blocker. I trained. Two and a half weeks ago I hit the soft cap for my light block weapon. I am very proud of this timeline!
I'm okay with not having a great ice blocker, physical blocker, earth blocker (although I intend to earn that one next Gelatin War!!!) or fire blocker, but I don't want the weapons I have earned to lose their importance. A private wishlist of mine has scrolls and weapons that I'll probably never obtain - and I am okay with that! The weapons and scrolls I was able to earn, mostly through battling, have been amazing! I just hope that I still feel like they were amazing, worthwhile achievements after these changes are pushed through. Thank you for reading.

Hey now, can't be any worse than when I open my mouth now! xD
I know how you feel, this is kinda scary for me too. I didn't get into battling til after tiers came into play, so I don't have a reference point of battling before that. But I'll admit I'm scared too. I kind of had a feeling the change to healing was something coming because the Shengui Guo Purifying Staff has a flat heal when used by a T13. Iirc it had been a percentage upon release. And then Shinwas Lightning I think was tweaked in its heal too?
All I know with percentage is that you don't benefit from it til much higher HPs; smaller pets are better off with flat-rate heal. and percentage is capped at 10k HPs anyways, so the most you'll heal back is 999HP if I'm not mistaken, so with two 10% healers, I'm guessing roughly 2k. If the flat-rate heal for the high tier weapons is like....500hp, then two of those weapons that do that + a scroll that also does a flat heal, or maybe some that survive to remain percentage-based, it shouldn't be too drastic? But we also have the boost to defense coming, which should balance out the change to healing.
