I watched Miracle once and it's good, just not one I like to watch on repeat. I've watched A Christmas Story way too many times and most of the goofy ones I don't really care for, although I've watched many of those once, as well. I think I prefer the multiple versions of A Christmas Carol, my favorite being Scrooged. I'd like to see that one again.

I've never had rice pudding. Nor eggnog pudding. Not sure I've even had eggnog :P Might have tried it but don't recall.

I have made the cookie dough, rolled it out, refridgerated it (I saw that as a tip somewhere and decided to try it), and am about to stick the first batch in the oven. Making 1 of each type of cookie cutter per person - so far I have 5 gnomes, 5 ornaments and 5 "gingerbread" people LOL Obvs its not gingerbread as I'm doing sugar cookies. One year we did those and I decorated them like santa & mrs claus it was sooo cute I'll probably do mine like that again. I also have trees, candy canes, stockings, snowman, bell and santa head :) (I may run out of dough before I get to all the cutters and thats ok if so!)

Ooh my favorite version of A Christmas Carol is Scrooged too!!! :D I haven't watched it in ages. I absolutely do not like A Christmas Story. I will watch it, but I think it is soooo dumb. It was a tradition in my hubby's moms house. OMG she played it on repeat from the day after Thanksgiving it felt like. Ugh. (Probably why I don't like it, I don't mind rewatching movies, but on repeat? NOOOOOO)

As I said on facebook, OMG that is soooooo cute!!! We decorated the cookies. I'll have to share later. Katie and Wesley are both quite artistic lol even though we were frosting with butter knives they got quite creative.

Question - do you guys EAT the gingerbread houses later? I never have, which is why I rarely make them even though I love decorating them! Premade Kits are always so hard and stiff. I like soft cookies.

Temp says it's 0, which is an improvement from -3 last night although I imagine it feels the same, with a wind chill of my -13. Went around lighting the candles as my brother snores on the couch. I can rarely sleep in, even though I went to bed really late last night.

I don't look forward to going to the store today. It's going to be full of the types of assholes that just shouldn't be allowed to have such an attitude around this time of year.

I couldn't get into Scrooged, I tried it last night. :( Maybe because I never watched it when I was younger/it was newer? IDK.

Speaking of.. it's so freaking cold! When I woke up at 2am it was -9, and when I got up to let the dog out it was -3 and the wind chill was -36. WTF?! There's only a high of 9 today. If that's right, we'll break two records today.. we already got lowest low on Christmas Eve, and we'll have lowest high temp on Christmas Eve, too. Crazy!

Poor dog was NOT amused at having to pee outside this morning.

Anyway.. then we made some eggnog pancakes and sausage, and we all had fuzzy navel mimosas. The kids had peach apple cider in theirs, and Alex and I had peach champagne. Yum! Now everyone is doing some cleaning before lunch.. then we'll all just kind of.. chill and watch movies and decorate cookies and stuff today.

I got a bunch of cleaning to do in the kitchen which will be good for my aching body. Need to move around.

My dog is a german shepherd that acts like a husky. He sees snow and automatically goes into super hyper play mode.

I haven't made pancakes in FURRevvERR. That's a good idea for tomorrow morning. I like making them with bananas and chocolate chips.

What other kinds of cookies are you decorating, Mieke? I'm not really a fan of sugar cookies so I'm trying to think of s/thing else to decorate, lol. Hell, I don't even bake sweets so I'm out of ideas.

We have some cookie kits that they won at the basket raffle that they're doing. Still doing most of our cooking in the air fryer, so I didn't bake cookies this year :(

But they have ugly sweaters and snowglobes to decorate! And still some Christmas trees from the library, I think.

Peanut butter cookies! You can just do the different colored sugars?

I always liked to do chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, oatmeal cookies (sometimes plain, sometimes w/ choco chips, sometimes w/ raisins), I do chocolate chip cookies but use M&Ms (minis most of the time) or mini chips instead of regular. You can do sugar cookies and not do frosting, you can sprinkle sugar on shaped ones or roll balls in sugar. Snickerdoodles are like sugar cookies but include cinnamon and cream of tarter (I was surprised by that, I'd never heard of it til I made the snickerdoodles) Gingerbread cookies are supposed to be good for decorating. But I've never made homemade ones except like once a long time ago. If you are careful you could probably do cut-out cookies with any cookie recipe and then frost them. Or just do round ones and draw images on them, or frost/sprinkle. (I did chocolate chip cut out cookies once, it was a little more difficult but it worked). Heck tho, you can decorate anything you want. Make a cake, make a pie, make a tart - and throw decorations on it hahahh!! whether it be sprinkles, sugar or a dusting of powdered sugar using a stencil or something :) Its fun to decorate. Make your pancakes and decorate those hahahah they'd be quite sweet with frosting or a dusting of powdered sugar. I used to eat french toast with ONLY powdered sugar. I do not like syrup on my french toast! I rarely do any of this anymore since we just don't have everyone here to eat all that and no one to give it to.

Do you like to bake bread/muffins? You could decorate that. Not with frosting obviously but you could cut lines into the dough of bread to make a design to decorate it or twist the dough into fancy shapes, and even use food coloring to dye it? Muffins can be frosted depending the the type I guess? Trying to think of other things not so sweet that could be "decorated"

I sent Katie and Wesleys cookies with them on to his grandma's house. They have a large family gathering, so if they want to share and not eat their cookies, at least they don't rot at my house hahah I have enough cookies and sweets here to get thru still! If you just feel like decorating, but don't want to eat them, perhaps you can find someone to give them to after you decorate sugar cookies? Neighbor, co-worker, daughter, brothers? I dunno. To me, they are the most fun to decorate simply because you can do all the different cookie cutters and decorate in any color you want.

See, I LOVE frosting. I'm the one that eats the corner pieces of cake b/c it has the extra frosting on it. The part about the sugar cookies I don't like is the actual cookie. 😂
Maybe I'll get some whip cream and decorate the pancakes w/ that. LOL

Sauerbraten is a venison roast with this sweet and sour gravy. It's made with gingersnaps. It sounds SO gross but it's really really yummy. It's German :P

candycane bread sounds fun. I was planning on making bread for Shane and Ryan. I don't know that they would appreciate candycane bread but it would be fun. I have enough to do 2 batches of dough...I normally just make mini loaves, some with sesame seeds and some w/o cuz I dont like the seeds.

I'm doing more laundry. Lily is putting away her three baskets of laundry from yesterday. Iz is cleaning her room. D is cleaning the bathroom. El cleaned the living rooms and swept the house. Now she's making nacho dip, since it'll take a while to melt.

Velveeta is so creepy. The chunks bounce LOL.

I need to do a bit more cleaning (again) too. I feel like I've done a ton of dishes EVERY FREAKING DAY this week, and I know I've already vacuumed at least once if not twice but looks like I need to again :P

I've started using velveeta in my broccoli/rice casserole. It is weird for sure.

Every. Day. I sweep. And every. day. The dustpans are overwhelming. It's insane. Where does it all come from?!

But now that I took all the things to the Goodwill, there's actually room in the living room and hallway! And now there's room for everyone to sit and open their gifts tomorrow LOL.
