I'm both scared and excited about being a grandmother...some day... It's not unreasonable to expect that I should be a grandmother by now, my oldest children are all married and of proper litter-raising age. I'm fourteen years old for crying out loud and I've given birth to four litters myself. If I had a preference, I wouldn't mind being called "grandmama, like all my nieces and nephews call my mother. But I will be happy with anything my children and grandchildren decide to call me, except raving-idiot, or devil-spawn. Just as long as they don't call me late for cookies.

Uncle : LOL....sorry, I don't intend to sound disrespectful. I give you empathy. Regarding tamales, if you can make sorbet, you can make tamales. It's a spicy meat filling, a masa paste (recipe on the bag of masa flour or go to Valley Supermarket and get pre-made masa and filling) and dried corn husks that have soaked in water. Watch a video on YouTube and steam them in a pot for 40 minutes. It's best done with friends and family, but can be done by one person at home. It's not hard, but it does take some time. I use a putty-knife to spread the masa on the corn husk. Extras can be frozen. The taste is so worth it.

That mine know, the gag is buying the ingredients together at the same time. Living on fixed income can complicate this.

Daughter in law's dad is Nono and her Ma wanted Gogo but my grand daughter calls her Dodo. both of them worked overseas and adopted the names from country they lived. In hubby wanted Guido from Egypt and I tentatively wanted grandma, but was pleased to answer whatever she could say. MMM tamales sound so good. That is so interesting, sounds so beautiful.

First week of class over, no homework no other assignments. BS, mine reading the book.

In the end, mine insurance couldn't cover the fender bender, on account of a lapse of coverage. Zo, mine agreed to pay the damages. It didn't set mine back a whole lot, though the payment had put a dent in mine road trip fund. Mine may have to start from zero.

Mine will spend the weekend picking cactus fruit, and will freeze some to make sorbet or ice cream out of season. Mine sister has offered to help, which mine will accept.

We were going to do Nan(n)a and Pappi ; I was disappointed when hubby chose grandpa, because I didn't want grandma (both his parents are alive and use those). Sometimes when referring to the 2 of us I stumble and say grandpa and grandma, but if I start with Nana I am okay. :-) The 2nd oldest grandson, quite the tease, heard me saying this once about 5 years ago and started calling him Crappa. LOL
