Oh, faboo! Mine A/C's water pump broke down. Though mine have a suitable replacement, this requires some rewiring. Also, a storm is passing over, zo mine won't take any risks. It just means this house will have circulation, but no cooling. At least until mine can march out and do this, we will tough out a slightly warm afternoon and evening.
[edit] But later mine sister visited, to drop off some things, and asked for some of our mother's things. Mine nieces are dazzled by her wardrobe, and are sifting through what they consider "cute" or "fashionable". Mine sister is also keeping control, Are you going to wear it?" she'll ask them.
: Are you getting hit with lots of rain? Some of the humans at the Skunk and Stoat Inn were overheard saying that Your world was getting a lot of "gully-washers," and I took that to mean that there was a lot of rain washing out your dirty gullies. Not your own personal gully mind you, just dirty gullies in general. How does one go about ordering the rain to come down and wash out a gully on demand? Is there a certain prayer one asks? Is the National Weather Service involved? Do they have a website?
I think you milked the joke to death my darling.
Be careful Welly, Or I'll have the Maker wash out your gully.
It is monsoon season, zo the area is hit with rainfall. The amounts are very disparate, out here we may get a fraction of an inch, while the city gets flooding. "Gully washers" mine think, certainly occur often.
Hello everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful week.
You notice a Slubbu Blob Doll on the ground, but right when you bend down to pick it up, lizard minions come out of nowhere and scurry off with it! Your trap springs and you spray like mad as the lizard minions escape. They will not get away this time! You place into your inventory. I haven't seen these little guys in a while. :)

I think the season is changing. I know that it's right in the middle of Summer, the Temperatures have been 100+ for weeks and there has been little rain again this year....but....
I went swimming today and the temperature in the pond was several degrees cooler than it was a week ago. At this time of year, that phenomenon can only be caused by the decrease of available sunlight that warm the waters. The Summer Solstice was a month and a half ago and the sun is now meandering southward, slowly at first, but picking up steam as it heads toward the Fall Equinox in late September...a month and a half away.
The birds know something is up, they have stripped the wild grapes from the vines before we could even taste them. Usually, this time of year, we wait until they turn golden and harvest them for raisins or crush them for blending wine if their sugar is exceptionally high. Not this year. The Jays and Mockers took them just as they were, hardly sweet at all. "Not fit for weasel consumption" as my old daddy used to say.
Maybe it's wishful thinking on my part, that the fall would come early, that temperatures would cool down by October and that we would have a good cold snowy winter. Unlike last year when the last 100 degree day of the year was October 15, and it remained in the upper 80s and 90s well into November. This is the Sierra Nevada of Central California, we live at 5000-6000 feet elevation, we are supposed to have "seasons!" It just goes to show you that climate change is a real thing.
For now, I'll add a few more mothballs to my trunk of winter sweaters and coats and have the Master Tailor sew me up a few more light cotton dresses for our perpetual Summer, and visit the Burrow Inn for some iced tea while I commiserate with friends. It's too dang hot to do anything else except that. At least we still have a little water left in the pond.
Hello ! We're doing well here in the mountains. It's hot, but we still have fun and are enjoying life. At least the crops look exceptionally healthy, it's going to be a bountiful year. How about you, did you have a good week?
: Sweetie, any news about WS?
: I'm sending a thank you card to your cousins. I have a question about properly addressing the envelope. I'm pretty good at writing and know my etiquette, but this is a special situation that I've not encountered before. You can sMail me, or text my Author in Fresno.
How are you doing? Are you recovered from losing a day?
waves hello I live south of you about 4-1/2 miles from the Pacific ocean in Ventura County. Weather here has been pleasant most of the time. It was 72 degrees today and sunny. Often we have a marine layer in the morning and that comes back in the late afternoons which keeps it cooler. There are lots of crops grown in the area. It's known for it's delicious strawberries and other vegetables are also planted. There are a lot of birds! The Dallas Cowboys have been coming here annually for one of their spring training sites because it's much cooler here this time of year than in Dallas Texas. They were here about 10 days or so but left Thursday to continue their practices elsewhere. It is very pretty here. Life is good! Hugs!!

Morning dear :)
I pinged you to the board where Rowan posted. They are back now!
Today Michael has his first swim lesson in 2 weeks! We had both been sick, first him the first week, the pink eye happened, and then I got what he had for the second week. We are both feeling so much better now.
: I remember swim lessons, I loved them and I got good. I hope Michael has a great time. I'm sorry to hear you were sick for two weeks, but I', glad to hear you are feeling better. We're all well and enduring the heat by swimming in the pond daily. It looks like we got all the points this year in Wayward Squirrel. There's a first for everything! Thanks for all your help this year too. I had fun.
Dropping in to say Hi. Still on Kindle so it's hard to leave messages. I miss you all and hopefully when I get over my hamstring pull I can get back in here some. Seems like I'm missing everything! (((((hugs))))
Life is short... Count your Blessings, Love your family and friends and lend a helping hand whenever you can!

: I've been lucky to have visited that area a few years ago when I was invited to go to a wedding in Huntington Beach. I love the Pacific Ocean, I just jump right in, very balmy and pleasant. Don't get me wrong, I'm really not complaining, the Central Valley and the attending mountain range where I live hot-- to be sure-- but it's so beautiful too. So much stuff grows here, tree fruit, berries, tomatoes, garlic, grapes for wine and drying...the list is endless. The nice thing about living in California is that, no matter where you live, you're only about 2 hours away from some different climate, ecology, or activity. I would love to =come and visit you some time. Maybe I could mail myself...I'm small. Maybe if I pack enough cookies with me, and use FedEx??? i. [/i]
: I have Tea_Roll's poking stick and I'm poking you with it...In love.... poke poke poke
Good to hear from you sweetie!!! We missed you A TON! 😘
Morning :) Yesterday's swim lesson went well enough. Since he had missed 4 lessons, he did alright, but will have to get comfortable again, especially since this is a new instructor. His regular one is in college and her classes started. I'm very happy we got full points for WS! It is a first for everything and it has been a lot of fun. It was easier in a way and not so stressful like some.

Another job well done. Mine repaired a car's suspension damage, with mine friend's help. The two main concerns were broken strut and wheel knuckle. Those two took about six hours, and went well into the evening, not without their frustrations. But by 21:30 the work was finished, and we had breakfast at midnight later. Al that is left is to replace the rear brakes, an get paid.
Providing this service for a disabled veteran, who expressed much gratitude and praise, is the kind of client mine like working for.
