Well, we started learning English in 4th grade and I spend a lot of time talking to english speaking people. ;) I sure wouldn't be able to write an article in german!

I've not learnt German for quite as long (we had 5 years of learning German, and 4 years of learning French), but we never did conversations with native German speakers, so that didn't really help! :P

It's been a tough day. the weather is terrible, tornado watches all day... the shots on my foot hurt like hates. Surgery went well I think. He said he shaved a lot of bone away. I had to walk into the pharmacy to get my meds which didn't hurt much at the time. I tried to sleep but the storms were way too loud and violent so unable to sleep despite how tired I was. Then I tried to sit in the living room but the puppy just wouldn't leave my leg alone so had to go to the my bedroom. I came back out at 9 since my puppy was asleep and my and now my foot is really hurting. aww thanks. I'll try to see if i can get it going.

I learned german for 5 years as well, but was not able to really have a conversation either. lol

Im in a really down spirts today. I apparently did too much and could not put weight on it at all. I had to crawl to get a water bottle last night. I was in that much pain. I called the doctors office this morning and been put in an air boot for an extra $208 that my family well cant afford so im crying in the doctors office which i hate doing and even with the air boot i was in too much pain so they had to give me pain meds there to take which i hated because of covid but had no choice. Doc caught me when I nearly fell. Im home now and laying on my bed. Good thing i have an attached bathroom. Im stuck in here now.

Did the storms die down in the end?

That stinks :K and that much for the air boot?!?!

How long do you have to keep weight off it (and wear the air boot for)? Hopefully though this will resolve the problem once and for all, and you won't need to head back to the doc for anything else foot-related! squishes gently

I did have a German penpal at one point, but I got really embarrassed that her English was so much better than my German was ever going to be 😊 :P

yes thankfully Yes and $70 for extra pain tabs At least thre days but he said pain will let me know how much i can do. I hope so. This bites

Poor thing, I hope the boot will help and that you feel better soon. That is blimey expensive too. :( Make sure to get plenty of rest and take care. :squishes:

I did try using my german a little bit when we did our school trip to Berlin, like ordering something, that is about it as far as well talking to german people. :P

thanks. Ive been having problems sleeping.i have a drug called valium for the night but not for the day. Im hoping i can sleep better today now the pain has lessened. I just took some allergy medicine so also hoping that helps. How are you?

I am glad the pain has lessened some. Fingers crossed that is a good sign. :) Woke up far too early today and was not able to get back to sleep, but otherwise fine. :) Stopped by the grocery store and taken care of some things. :)

Dad posted your package this morning, so that should arrive by Friday next week (I hope!!) :D

things have gotten worse. Mum slipped and fell. She hit her arm and couldn’t get up. We had to call 911 and they took her to the er. Dad went with them leaving me with the puppy and I couldnt even make anything to eat because I can’t walk and carry anything and can’t stand with the walker to make something. Mum's got a broken arm near the collarbone and it's dislocated. She will need surgery to put it back in and set the bone with some pins. Dad got home at 10pm and I finally got to eat something. Mum's been admitted and we'll know more soon. Very worried about the surgery because last time she had surgery it was very scary. The puppy was pretty well behaved for me thankfully. She did try to get to my foot but only twice. Dad's gonna try to time things tomorrow so he can visit during Melody's naps so I don't need to puppy sit and all. I'm worried about her.
