on my side of the pond, I have 3 new grandkids, one in August, one i September and one last week. That makes 6 new ones over the past 12 months! All the married kids, except for the couple that had a preemie 2 Marches ago. They are still overwhelmed. <3 huge hug and prayers for the test results being what you hope them to be.

Mine found the problem with mine car's A/C, the root cause was a disconnected temperature sensor, which mine concluded to be another loose end from the recall service from August.

Mine gknew that sensor had a part in this problem, in mine case it was finding the location. That is where online helped, it wasn't obvious, but the wire and sensor were plainly seen.

Mine spent a few minutes, which saved mine the expense of going to a garage or specialized shop. How much would it cost to reconnect a small wire?

Now mine should make more efforts to develop this ability to diagnose, this kind of experience is more valuable than seniority.

Do you have one of those OBD2 Scanners? Those are so nifty! Because you are correct, going into a specialty shop would have set ya back a wee bit. OUCH! So glad you could figure that out on your own.

Mine does not have one, a very expensive toy no matter where it's bought. Mine nest job is to find an EVAP leak with a smoke machine mine brother loaned out. Some research is in store.

My husband uses one, but I think his was around $137, or something like that. But they sell cheaper ones, just for reading codes, for like $20. I know for some of the work he does, it has been invaluable. Because while he attempts to stay on the cusp of all the newer makes and models, some of those can be tough to figure out. Most of the time he already knows the problem, or is pretty certain of it, but for those times when the fix is going to be expensive, or he needs to have an answer more quickly, he likes the back up of the OBD tool.

Yes, if mine is going to get good, mine need to learn how to interpret the codes.

Oh well, mine learned that the refund period for rockauto has expired for the brake components mine bought. Zo, instead of fronting the cost of another new set of front rotors, mine will to wait for an open lab to see if mine can resurface the old ones.
