go to wardrobe and then base, you will see in the bottom area. Options to turn off the option that shows a certain limb. But you need to figure out if you need part of limb or whole to work with item you are using on your HA.

I believe the area you mentioned is for REPLACING limbs with ....zombie-fied limbs (?) or something like that (I haven't been down in the underground shops for a while).
The feature that was mentioned before is in the wardrobe. You can take off parts of the body so it doesn't show if you are using an item that 'moves the limb'. For instance, there are CWs that have crossed-looking legs, or arms that go out away from the body at an angle. You can go into the 'Body' section of the wardrobe and turn off the section of the body you do not want to show. (Even if it's just the toes, hehe!)
Used to be, you had to use items that hid the entire body or layer background items to make the body not show. I'm not likely to use this feature much, myself, but I do see the usefulness.

Yes, you can carve after the event. All the achievements to do with pumpkins are also still active after the event. So feel free to collect and save them for when you have time and aren't busy at the pumpkin patch, totting, egging and tping :).
