congratz... i like it if a plan works...

Been on a history and science kick lately. On the one hand, I find myself wanting to create/ invent something. On the other, I have found it interesting to watch reactions so as to see other's opinions on things. There's a channel called Oversimplified that seems interesting and sums things up pretty well, I think. But I just watched a vid about the fallen of WWII that just states the figures and shows a well edited, detailed graph/ timeline that really puts things in perspective. I learned something in 20 minutes that I don't think I ever learned in school.

What DID they teach you in school about WWII? ;)

Honestly? I went to a private school and I absolutely Loved my history teacher (in high school). He was awesome. I remember comparing things on a semi-regular basis with my cousins (lived in same city) who went to public school. I feel like we learned the same things, just went a little more in-depth on certain subjects. We Might have learned more details, and I just forgot. (it has been over a decade and I can't remember what I ate the other day) One of the things I had either forgotten or never knew was the amount of loss Russia had on both the soldier and civilian side. Another were some details about Japan going into the mainlands and what the sides did to each other.
Either we didn't really touch on this, or my idealized (am i using that right?), youthful self just chose to really remember the parts involving the US.
I found the vid 'the fallen of world war ii' interesting. "an animated, data-driven documentary' (that's 18 minutes long)
