So, for those in the states, did you celebrate in any way?

My parents put candy in little snack ziplock bags (while wearing gloves and mask) and were handing them out when I left their house earlier. Their neighborhood was Packed with little people and their parents, and old people walking along watching the fun. There were some interesting ways people went about giving the candy this year. One of them had this long chute that they sent the candy down to the curb.

At my house, we decided not to hand out candy this year. On normal years we had to buy about six of those Large walmart candy bags, and kids were constantly coming by (yes, all different). But this year, with 2020/ trying to lose weight (after halloween candy..)/ and saving money we decided not to. (Kinda missed it to be honest...)

So I decided to have fun inside. I hung up some decorations and dollar tree lanterns. Some sparkly pipe cleaner and bats. And now, for the last few hours, I've been wearing a dragon cape and sleeves, with a pumpkin wiggly headband, listening to fun halloween music. I've had Monster Mash stuck in my head. :P

Welcome! We created a haunted house for our guests, and the community, in one wing of our hotel. lots of screaming good fun, even with social distancing! :D At home I celebrate the first night of Samhain on the 31st, with candles, homemade mead, and lots of food.

We didn't hand out candy this year either. In previous years we never had many kids (somewhere between 1-2 dozen). I was initially going to just leave out a bowl of candy, but the experts cautioned against that. What your parents did, individual packaging was the right way to go. But the way our yard is, there was no way to layout the candy safe from the weather (which was very cold, windy and a bit snowy). I was a little sad about that, but without a good plan, it just didn't seem safe.
