I was missing items , but don't see any others that have been restored since.
I haven't even checked to see which items are missing from mine.....
[tot=PiplupMagby34]
As far as I can tell - they were restoring up until the full site crash. Then they have been working on that and have not done any more work on the missing items. There's an item I know I bought (because I literally owned everything from this shop) and that others all confirmed to be missing too that has still not been dealt with. Also there were no restorations to my account beyond my reported list of missing items (minus the one that hasn't been restored) but I still have a count discrepancy and know I'm missing more than what I was able to find so far.
Hey there! I just wanted to post and let you guys that this indeed is still being resolved. The site issues did halt the restoration but please be assured that the programmers are still working on this!

This is a rant
It's been...19 days since staff has touched this forum post and a look at the admin posts shows that it's been 19 days since staff offered any information about this issue at all.
Acknowledging the holiday. Acknowledging the holiday killing lag and dysfunction brought on by a change of address that we were told would only be maintenance. Acknowledging that it's still broken.
But this is a massive issue and is seeing no updates. The disregard is strong in this staff. Maybe they found a big enough rug to just sweep it under.
TL;DR: Wardrobe items still missing, staff still non-communicative about it. Observations on returns leading to speculation about supposed trust staff has in user's missing item reports and distrust of staff actually returning specific items.
Warning: long and ranty. I'm old, and I got another year older during this quarantine and Masq. I'm grumpy. I don't do well with kindness over fairness and the allowance of assholery because shaming hurts feelings. This issue was left to sit before staff were finally forced to admit what they did somewhere besides forums that were barely if at all functional. Let me word that differently; the staff was willfully controlling the release of information by placing it in less than accessible areas; the forums were not working and players banned from the forums have only the staff posts to go to for information, and no I don't like sugarcoating smeg either. Maybe if this were the first time I’d seen this kind of treatment here..but it’s not.
I’m 99.9% sure they have decided on some kind of proving system to go by that will end up screwing players. I reported the few missing items I could immediately recognize as missing, and those were returned; including the Secret Garden Key I've seen other users report as not being returned. This seems to indicate that they are not going by the cost of the item as was previously suggested, nor are they going by item name. This is not a matter of returned item count either: I've had 4 returned, posts above mine show 0 returns, and previous posts describe the return of a bunch of items that a player had removed from their wardrobe and sold/disposed of before the glitch even happened, according to the staff report of the time frame. I have not seen any listing on my report showing a return of anything besides those items I listed, which seems to suggest as well that they are not returning en mass as was also claimed.
Degree of uncertainty there; before I learned that there was a lot of stuff I don’t care to own I dumped a number of undesirable wardrobe items from quests, the rift, etc into my wardrobe so any junk items I see could easily have been my fault. According to my form though, the only returns have been the things I reported.
I am struggling to have faith in the staff's assurances that they trust the player base to truthfully report missing items, especially missing items that are difficult to obtain for any reason; or that they will return all items lost to their negligence. What I’m (not)seeing of the process makes me think they are comparing the history they have access to of a player’s site special shop purchases to the list of missing items said player provided and thinking, “this person doesn’t have a history of suchandsuch special shop/CSC purchases, so we can’t believe this report”. I suggest this because the site does have some persisting history, even during the months after the backups were shut off, or whatever happened there. The gifting center has a history of gifts I’ve sent and received from before the first one I sent last year to now so I know there’s some way the site saves some history of site shops/commerce/item movement.
The basis for my concern comes from both the lack of return of the Secret Garden Key across the board of reported missings, and this:
My daughter also plays here and also lost wardrobe items to the failure of maintenance. She used the form to report and has had items returned, including The Secret Garden Key; but she was here for Vesnali and was able to shop in the special shops associated with it. She has not gotten back the Teeny Tiny Pink Pig Doll, which, if bought from the site shop (Loyalty), takes non-standard currency that as only an occasional CSC purchaser she likely wouldn't have. This would keep her from being able to buy from the Loyalty shop so there’s no established history or even a one-time purchase note. However, the TTPPD isn't only for sale in the Loyalty shop and I paid with Sp when I bought it for her from a user shop. (Not traceable) Since I bought it for her after the site stopped being backed up there’s no data showing her as owning it but I know for a fact that it went straight into her wardrobe because I was sitting across the room from her when I sent it to her. Oh and you can take to the bank that I'm kicking myself for not using the gifting center to send it because at least that keeps a persistent history. But, no history of purchases by her from Loyalty shop, no history of the amount of CSC purchases it would take to earn the Loyalty points needed to buy it from the Loyalty (oh the irony) shop, no backup showing TTPPD in her wardrobe thanks to negligence, no returned TTPPD despite being reported using the form and the insistence by staff of good faith. Just a fat chunk of Sp out of my vault and a lost background that she loved. Sucks to be you.
I spent a ton on Lumi gifts across many currency um..ranges; CSC, trinkets, tokens, forum points, This, combined with being here for Vesnali last year, established my purchase history at the special shop where The Secret Garden Key is found if not in a player's shop. Because of that, when I reported it as missing the staff had the proof they claimed they didn't need that I had more chance of actually having purchased that item than a person who joined last October and could only get it from a user shop but who also reported it as lost to the dumpster fire.
I expected this for CW because I don’t see those as ever purchasable with Sp but not for site/user shop purchases.
To my understanding Subeta isn’t paying anything in real money for user created items. Quite the opposite actually; creators pay the site to upload, then players that want the CW pay the site for the CSC to buy it.
Check out this topic, if you’re interested">https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/910152/For-those-who-stopped-spending-money-important/1/ "> ">https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/910152/For-those-who-stopped-spending-money-important/1/ for a creator’s insight into how they’re reimbursed on Subeta.
However, Subeta stands to lose money from CSC for CW/Loyalty/CS purchases through careless or mass return of those shop items lost to their mishandling of the site. The reasoning behind limiting the return of CW is sound, that’s exclusive on a whole other level and would cost the site, but there are not that many non-CW items on Subeta that can’t be found in player shops. The cost of creating a new item themselves is or should already be figured into artist and staff salaries or compensation and the like. Once it’s on the site it’s been created, and all expenses involved have been paid. It can be duplicated to the point where it crashes a server for no extra cost in the distribution of the item. It would cost nothing but the potential for a little bit of future revenue to return every non-CW item players listed as lost to the poor practice of not checking on backups or the actions of recently deployed, untested aspect of the site that players were encouraged to use. It might ding the lesser exclusivity of having enough Sp to throw down on player-priced rarities; but does that cost the site the way losing players and not gaining/retaining new ones will? Is anyone wondering why post-Masq user online numbers aren't as high as pre-Masq?
I wish I had to longevity here that would allow me to just take at face value the promises made by staff but I don’t, and from what I’ve experienced during my time here my faith in those promises isn't like to be improved. I've been here a year and half of my time here has been lagging, errors, and some issue or another but I persisted, even in the face of a prior issue that players had to beg for any information and updates for. The last 6 months has changed Subeta for me from a site I was enjoying getting to know and occasionally supporting to a site I’m withdrawing from and regarding with distrust. It’s seeing less and less of my time and I have zero inspiration to give any of my money to a site that feels this greedy and disloyal to its existing player base but so bloody keen to attract new ones in the hope that maybe someone will buy CSC before they learn more about the place and stop coming here.
I opened a Subetalodge account and will save my Subeta wardrobe, galleries, shop, collections..everything I can to it once I figure out how to do so even if I barely play here again because despite the assurances from staff, the wardrobe glitch combined with minimal if any communication that we have to beg for have absolutely made it my responsibility and my burden to bear.
Is the world a complete mess right now? Yes. Should I understand that reality is a bitch? Yes, and I do. Maybe some staff are first responders or medical, maybe some staff are sick with this virus. But you know what? Maybe some players are first responders or medical, and they use Subeta as a place to go to unwind and have fun. Maybe some players are coughing up a lung in their bedrooms, forced to isolate from their families because of contagion and using Subeta to talk to friends and play games. Maybe those players are living their own personal hells out there and then coming here to find the same with the addition of being disregarded by the staff about a legitimate grievance.
But I also see staff posts on the manual resets, on the autopricer, on pet pages and profile issues, I see news about new releases for Subeautique, pet colors, item revamps, new items in Millionaire center, new bonus items for CSC weekend, the decision to revamp CSC in hopes of encouraging subscriptions, etc…
Not a peep about this.
I’ve seen other players asking for the return of their TTPPD as well.
Guess I should have refreshed here after previewing. Spoilering for cleanliness but my grief still stands.
Can you explain why, before the maintenance move nuked the site some of us saw the return of certain items while others who also reported that item missing didn't?
It is part of 's job to respond on the forums with messages and information that the admins/programmers and other staff want to communicate. She also communicates back to us when particular problems or issues are cropping up more frequently.
She is not being thrown to the wolves, she is providing a useful service and making sure that a lot of staff can get on with our jobs of getting the site running smoothly without having to keep stopping and reading pages of user feedback every day. When our programmers have a big/good update to give, they will give it.
As Destiny has said, items have not finished being returned. It's a drawn-out process, and we're trying to do it correctly and amongst everything else we have to do to keep our site functioning and flourishing.
Thank you for the updates Destiny and Rah! ❤
It doesn't seem weird if someone was in the process of leaving Subeta or cleaning out their wardrobe.
Where can I find the Google Docs list? I am going through my 56 pages on Subetalodge but it is slow going and I don't have any CW's on my list so I won't be any help with them.
Would it be possible to put this link on the first page of this thread, since this issue is still ongoing?
[e]Nevermind ..... found it in a Pets treasure whoops
Side note: I discovered that Pleated Orange Miniskirt was listed under items that have been restored .... which was never reported so i definitely feel more at ease knowing I'll still get things back i may have missed.
Thank you!
Note to self: complete thru page 5 of 56
I wish I had any kind of clue as to if or what I'm missing. There's no way I'm going to be able to figure that out.
smh
RIP Mom, I love & miss you more than you know. Tell Dede hi.

Hello <3 I'm back with an update on this issue.
We promised that we would do our best to figure out what items were missing and restore them using all the data/resources available to us. We've now wrapped up this process. In other words, we've now restored everything that was possible to automatically restore from available data.
It was never possible to restore items 100% accurately through this process, since we didn't have a working database backup - an unacceptable mistake that we've been open about since the start, and are still doing our utmost to own and correct.
In light of this, the missing items report form will remain open indefinitely so that, if you notice a missing item that we overlooked - even months after the fact - you'll still have a way to bring it to our attention. We deeply regret that any onus has to be put on you as part of this process, and we appreciate each report as giving us an opportunity to set things right.
We've released another report tool with a complete list of items we have confirmed were deleted from ALL wardrobes due to this glitch. This list automatically checks if items are in your wardrobe and has easy, one-click report buttons next to each item. Click here to check it out.
To end on a somewhat more positive note: Following this incident, we did an extensive post-mortem as to why this occurred, why our backups weren't reliable and how we can make sure this never slips through the cracks again - since, we agree, it was unacceptable that it did this time. In the last month, we've put a TON of work into creating more robust site infrastructure, which includes making sure we're on a working backup service with daily backups and constant monitoring. will post a site update with more details about this work in the near future.

As far as I remember, the automatic backups brought back everything, even the stuff I didn't really want :P. Thank you for keeping the form open anyway.
Thanks for all your hard work!

Some of these items I haven't used in forever, so I'm only like 95% I had them, like the lightsabers. Should I still report those anyways? (I'm not going to worry about submitting anything that I'm not as sure about.)

Thank you for working hard on this issue. <3
I have several items that were not restored from my missing items report. Will those items be looked at and restored?
