It would be nice if we could get an estimate as to when Survival will start and end. If Survival starts later, would the end day also be extended?

On a personal note, I will not be able to be online for ~1 week, and the closer that comes the more I fear I will miss of Survival. I was planning for it to be around now so that I would not miss too much, but that planning obviously didn't work this year.

They usually try to make it last at least 14 days like they do with most events unless something goes wrong and they extend it. It seems like they're taking advantage of the extray day this year to start it this late. If they let us know that they're working on it and making sure everything goes smoothly, I wouldn't be so annoyed because then I'd know why it's taking so long.

There hasn't really been any hype, so I'm scared that I'm starting to lose interest. You know that thing where you wait ages with no word on what's happening and when it finally does happen, you're not as enthusiastic anymore? It's like that.

Considering there never has been an official date for when survival starts, I'm really not upset about the "delay". It's only one day after when it started the past couple of years anyway, which makes sense considering the 16th fell on a weekend this year. Staff has said in the past that they typically don't like to start events on weekends, or after a certain time of day. I'm excited, but we're still in mid February, which is the only guideline given for when the event starts. Everything else is just community speculation.

Mid-February to the start of March is what the event schedule says, and if it starts today (the 17th) that's 14 days if it ends at 11:59 PM March 1st. Since it's a leap year that makes more sense than Sunday would've, imo? I don't see how that adds up to staff being lazy.

I just would have preferred it to start earlier, espcially since now I'll be stressed all day and especially while I can't look at my phone (I might try to find a way to sneakily look at one point anyway). And they know we're all waiting so some word on it would have been nice to stop us from losing interest. Yesterday we had no news at all, not even for an unrelated thing. I don't like days like that because they leave me staying up late for nothing since I'm so paranoid about when the Token Shop could happen.

Yes, there's an established justification for the delay and the lack of information surrounding it. But that doesn't mean they have to stick to it. I agree that "laziness" seems to be a bit of an unfair term. However, I can't put words in people's mouths and their choice of the term may be more accurate than I'm assuming... I get where everyone is coming from and what they're trying to say; the lack of explanation for the delay - especially during a year with an extra Feb. day and a holiday falling after a weekend - makes things a bit unsure. Something from staff would be nice, whether it's a comment or update.

That being said, they really don't owe us anything and I'm sure I'll enjoy it all, despite my fears that I'm getting fatigued and disappointed. I'm just trying to chime in and maybe give my own interpretation of why I'm personally feeling a bit more anxious about it this year, in a way I totally wouldn't have expected of myself.

Yeah, I didn't assume you were actually claiming they were. I'm actually in agreement. With a lack of notification (well, outside of the forums) it sets users up to try and reason it out blindly. With no evidence to the contrary, they might be lazy, they might be distracted, they might be callous. I don't really think they are[/I] any of these things (quite the contrary), but with no notification, users have every opportunity and right to make assumptions. Which sucks, because the staff are all great and I feel like non-scheduled events might their own worst enemies. It means any established pattern is going to be seen and stuck to by users, but also means that [i]technically there is no pattern that staff have to stick to (besides "Mid-Feb"), regardless of user expectation.

But call me entitled, I just want to know when Survival is, because I have a job and schedule.

Whenever and however it starts now (whether I'm online or not), I know it will be fun, and I will enjoy it. I'm not going to get stressed over it. :)

ok! here’s hoping that it starts soon! maybe not tomorrow cause it’s my anniversary with my partner... but if they really love me they’ll understand right? XD

Survival is my 2nd least favourite holiday and it will start when it starts as the only holiday that starts the same time every year on here is Luminaire the rest are generally mid to late month for their starts.

This will be my first Survival, so I'm looking forward to experiencing it. :)

Kinda wished that it would have started when I had time off. Kind of put off by the "It starts when it starts" mentality. I'm not trying to be entitled, I know a lot of work goes into these events - but it is nice to keep your user base informed, especially when the majority of your user base is working people that do not have a lot of time for things like this (or at least in my case) . But it is what it is.

I hope it starts tomorrow, but at the same time, tomorrow is a super shitty day for me...it's pretty frustrating, because it has NEVER started this late, and I was able to be aware of it (though working) through the whole weekend and today, but tomorrow's going to be more difficult. I know I'm not the only person who threw off their work schedule to make time for Survival.

I hope survival starts soon T^T

I feel like we're way past mid point Feb, the less we have the less time I'll get to collect new skins. If event is still happening. :(
