I was working on this for longer already and in between it got really hard to still see even one site of my different legacy shops I still had. I deletet one of them slowly one after another, because it was very hard to move all the stuff over to my vault or one of my new galeries. Thank you for making this a lot easier to us.

if i go to https://subeta.net/legacy_shops_migrate.php and then none of mine in drop list "Choose a legacy shop" is mean i dont have it ?
Legacy shops are just any shops that were created before they switched to the new shop system in 2016. If you already created new shops since then and moved all of your items over, then you can just ignore this basically. It's just to help people that still haven't moved their items and deleted their old shops.
I joined in 2017 and don't have a legacy shop, but I early on encountered the issue of having the same items in multiple shops and undercutting myself.
I solved this problem by using different shops for different types of items.
When I acquire new items to sell, I sort them into the right category before uploading them into my shops. That usually prevents this from happening. Things that belong in the bookstore (books, stationery items, software) are pretty easy to separate from things that belong in the toy shop (plushies, lifelike dolls, beanbags), as an example. I have a bookstore, a toy shop, a general store, a CW shop, a clothing shop, and a shop for gross things that are worth too much to just frag.
I know it's gonna be a b!tch to sort everything out initially. Just try to find some time when you're not very busy and go right in there. It will be okay and once you are done you can keep on using the system.

but i couldn't remember when i created all my shop?
I'm glad legacy shops and galleries are finally getting retired! It sounds like they've been causing way too much hassle. I'm also glad I sorted and deleted my horrid (30k+) legacy gallery a few years ago.
Here's hoping most people with legacy shops/galleries take advantage of this! I'd be interested to know how many legacy shops/galleries there were before this feature was added and how many will be left over afterwards, but that's just my curiosity taking over. x)
A force migration to users' vaults after the retirement doesn't sound like a bad thing, tbh.
Yes, if no shops appear in the dropdown list you should be fine. You can also check by hovering over shops > your shops and making sure none of the shops listed there have a little exclamation mark in a triangle in front of their names.
That's even more time consuming. Even though I do it on top in some way. I just filled shop by shop. Always quickstocking the first, then the second,... Still for some reason it was error prone and I find same items in different shops.
More work and less income on top of all the work pricing thousands of items before, which will be lost now together with a way to make money. All items on my wl cost many millions only achieveable with selling high priced items by and by over many years of waiting for them to reach that price.
The only destination for dumping all our stuff is in the vault ... ? Why not in shop? I mean, I have over 20k items I think :(
It's initially time consuming and later time saving. Quickstocking a ton of items into shops randomly is guaranteed to make you undercut yourself.
Also, if you have more than 250 items in your inventory, not all of them can be quickstocked in one go. That means that you can definitely get your stacks split up if you are stocking multiple shops at once.
I looked through your shops just to see what you have though and most of your prices are what I'd expect in a legacy shop--way out of date.
You've got things listed for 10-15X their current market value in many of your shops. For instance, you have listed at 50M when the going rate is 5-7M. You're going to have to reprice those items anyway if you want to sell them. You have a plushie that is worth under 100K priced at 24M.
I'm not trying to tell you that this doesn't suck, because it does. But it could really be an awful lot worse. And you aren't going to sell these items at all if you have them in a shop that you can't re-price, at prices that nobody here's gonna pay.

I was emptying out my food items from my legacy shop into my "new" food gallery. Getting error messages after each move; great, must be going normally. Then I added a new category. This apparently resulted in the fantastically coded, brilliantly designed "new shop" refusing to load.

This is such a relief. I've been slowly emptying my hoard shop for months. So thank you from the bottom of my tired little heart ❤
I’m sorry if this question was already asked but what if we had 2 legacy shops and stopped regularly playing right around the time that the new shop system was in place and when we came back had to manually move the items because we had no idea what was going on several years later?
I just started playing regularly again in 2018. I was last active around 2012... I moved alllll of my stuff and double triple checked that everything was emptied and then crossed my fingers and deleted 1 shop and 1 gallery.. there were really too many items to keep track of it all so I guess it’s on me? This was about a month or three ago? I logged in every now and then to keep my account but it really just stayed dormant since 2012.
TLDR; I emptied/deleted 2 legacy shops manually and am worried that something might have gotten missed.
I actually thought this had already happened but I think I'm misunderstanding but nbd anyway I hope the transition goes smoothly for everyone
Too bad there&;s no "transfer to another shop" feature. I&;d find that much more useful. Thank you all the same!
I thought about this, but it ended up not being feasible, because the newer shops have a smaller limit on the number of items you can have inside them. A lot of legacy shops have many times over that limit of items in them, and the overflow could get messy and have more risk of error.
bug already explained the reasoning for this. it's about the best solution there is, from what it looks like, with the least amount of risk and fuss. it might be a pain for people, but it seems to be pretty solid and risk-free, which i think is more important!!
(having said this, i've now jinxed someone to have the process go horrifically wrong.)
So: what happens if we have another of the same item in the vault already, but in a different category?
In case that isn't clear, say I have a Colossus Potion in my legacy gallery. I also have a Colossus Potion in my vault in a category called "lumi gifts".
I create a new vault category "legacy" -- per your instructions -- and transfer my legacy shop into that category. Where will the Colossus Potion from the gallery go?
I don't want the item to end up in my gifts category, because the point of the gallery in the first place was to display items I wanted to keep for myself. Putting the item into a category for gifts would defeat that purpose.
I'd love it if the item actually ended up in the legacy category, but I've never ever been able to split a stack inside a vault -- every item of the same kind always ends up in the same category.
OK. I already have a very large vault that contains at least 1 of almost every item in my legacy gallery. If I make a category to transfer to, what will happen to duplicate items? That is to say if I have one in my gallery and one in my vault in my Books category, will they wind up in 2 different places or will they automatically go to the Books section? This is important to me because I have a lot of wearables that need to go back into my wardrobe and trying to find them in my vault would be a nightmare.
edit: Great minds think alike but you explained that much more simply. :)

What was the question?
Awww, bye bye Pit Stop, the first shop I had on this site.
I relocated all of my stuff out of it back in 2016 so my old shop has just been kinda hanging out in the dropdown being a cute lil memory since then. This is also just another crazy reminder that I've been on this site for ten years now, holy moly so much has changed.
