This is so simple and amazing! Thank you Bug!! The option to be able to choose a vault category to transfer the items into is genius. Now I can view everything and sort through the items :)

For those curious, I have 65 vault pages of items and it took 18 minutes to transfer it all.

This! We need more of this! I know it's a lot of work, but it would be so nice to have a list of issues and their status, whether they're being looked into, or are on hold. Then we know that staff is aware of them. I'm working at an IT company, and we're considering opening up our internal ticket system to our customers, so they can see that we're aware of their issues, and what issues are being worked on or are already fixed in the development environment.

A problem with the transfer to the vault is the vault doesn't have a sorting option, other than the categories each person chose, so if I want to sort through my 16,000 items there, I don't have the option to pick just the wearables or just the books. That would be very handy with this huge volume now.

Can't say that I didn't see this update coming, but it's still a bit shocking to me. I have successfully emptied SO MANY ITEMS on my legacy shop since before it was legacy. Should I clarify, it's where I threw all my gourmet food after I was done with the hoarding achievement around 4 years ago, so it wouldn't get mixed up with food in my vault.

With that in mind, guess the new tool won't be of use to me, since I don't want the food in my vault because I already have food in my vault and it will get all mixed up with what I have already eaten..... guess a manual transfer into my inventory and into a gallery is in order while I keep feeding all that D: (I'm at 'p' after all this time starting with foods that begun with 'a'!)

This is a major reason (besides pure volume) why I held on to my legacy shops. The Item Use filter is incredibly useful but it's missing from the Vault sorting/filtering functionality.

In an ideal world, the system that the Item Directory is using now (where you can type in multiple item types/uses, with a list shown of what's available to search, as tags) could be applied to the vault - because that functionality is amazing and even better than what's currently in shops (legacy or new normal).

Also and The explanation on the migration tool page itself does note that moving items into a specific vault category only works if the item is not currently in your vault. Something I'm also sad about but I can definitely see how the vault currently isn't set up for splitting stacks so I guess it is what it is.

My shop was created over 10 years ago but does NOT show an exclamation mark next to it. I guess I am even more confused than others!? What should I do?

The introduction of new shops and closing of then called legacy shops was done really badly back then. So I much appreciate the early announcement and the explanations of the process.

So, as to smoothen the process even further (and as a more general suggestion as not only users with legacy shops would profit from that) and as others have suggested already would it be possible to add more filters to the vault? Like item use and item type? I understand items from legacy shops cannot be transfered to categories, that's not what I'm asking for. Just more filters to allow easier sorting and finding stuff in general (especially after 20k items have been dumped there...)

I'm still very sad that I cannot keep up my galleries in the "new" shops as they are way too small. So I hope there will be a solution for that somwhere in the future, too...

Oh, I was only talking about stocking the new shops initially.

And I never sell items for cheap. The legacy shop was doing well enough.

P.S. The item you mentioned is in one of my new shops! I guess, nobody can see my legacy shop or galleries anymore, because they do not show up on my profile any longer.

Thanks! In my total panic, I completely missed that. It looks like my worst fear is realized and I will have to manually move all the wearables. At least I can still sort out clothing in the gallery, so that will help. Good luck with yours. :)

Well I'm happy to see after manual transfer of my food to a gourmand gallery that I only had 1349 items left to feed, so the manual process was a whole lot faster than I thought :D

I did move the one last item through the new tool, so it would automatically delete the legacy shop.

My shop and my gallery both have a (qs). That means they aren't legacy, correct?

Huh, it seems I have already deleted them all and just made new ones when I returned to the site last year, since the old shops were cranky. Well, less trouble for me, I guess :D

I have mixed feelings about this I have been emptying my legacy shops for a long time now I was down to the last and biggest one however I don't remember how many items I had left in there :( I use the category features in the shop too for sorting while emptying

So I just went ahead with the vault transfer dumping into a category named legacy shop in my vault Super easy but now I may be lazy and let the stuff just sit there, perhaps On the other hand I have no way to know for sure if everything made it over I have 60 pages of the category in my vault which I calculated as 12,000 items I have a difficult time believing that I had that few items in a shop that started out at over 30k in items Did I really empty it that much on my own?? I do not know and will never know shrug

I suppose I could have continued with the emptying on my own but with just the first page of the shop showing... well that kind of bothered me and I have not touched it since that problem popped up Oh well, it's done now Moving on

I had one legacy shop that I finally closed up about a year ago I think. The process was pretty easy for me. I did mine in stages. I would transfer unpriced items into my other shops as space provided and would do this at a rate of a page or two at a time. I started to do this about three years ago. I finally started to move items with outrageous prices on them the same way until finally all I had was something like 5 pages. At that point I transferred everything else all at once to a new shop I made. For those of you who have legacy shops you still have time to do this process. Move bits at a time to make sure you don't lose anything and over load the site accidentally.

So wait, why did we have legacy shops in the first place if you can't even change prices, just remove items out? In any case, good step forward to getting the site to be in a healthier place.

I haven't logged for some months and a friend told me about the removal of these shops so I came to check them but I can't seem to access those shops anymore? Is the transfer to vault my only option or can I do it manually?

I agree. I've been wishing that we could search the vault by item use the same as we can in shops, i.e. food, books, clothing, etc. It's a nuisance to have to look through tons of items by hand to find food or put them in a category. I've been on longer than 2016 but it looks like none of my shops are legacy because I moved everything to new shops when they came out.
