Great job and on getting your words in! throws confetti :D
A fun tool that I use for background noise is the Ambient Mixer! You can either listen to soundscapes other people have made or you can make your own. For instance, I've made this one to listen to during the first section of my story.
That's awesome! Definitely easier to write when you're enjoying your story! :)
Ooh, Ambient Mixer is really neat, thanks for sharing! :o
As for me, I'm doing pretty good right now. Outlining before November definitely paid off, and I'm nearly to 8k words already! Little worried about my future though, because I'm coming down with a cold. :( I tend not to do super well when I'm under the weather, so we'll see if I'm able to sit at my computer and write tomorrow. Fingers crossed lol~
Finally got started yesterday adding 3000 words to my word count... but alas I was working on something that was not my actual novel. Oh well. Tonight maybe I'll get more done on my actual project OTL
While we're still talking about music:

You won't be disappointed.
I took a little break today because of how much I wrote yesterday. And...my son wasn't being cooperative. I'm working until 2230NST and then I am going to pound out tomorrow's word count since I got today's yesterday.

A little more than a day behind since I didn't write for 2 days, but I'm awfully proud of myself for coming home and writing after work today. <3 4,815 words, wooo~
I'm 10k in as of last night and guess what? I'm reconsidering my story. It is NOTHING like what I wanted it to be. The struggle has begun.
[sup]Quill.[/sup]
I feel your pain. The struggle is real; I find myself looking at my initial outline in disbelief every day and thinking "how did we get here"? On the other hand, it's amazing when the characters just sort of take the story and run with it. :D
It's funny, I feel like I'm not keeping up and yet I'm making 3k wordcount a day which puts me almost 2x ahead of schedule. facepalm
Oops I fell off the train and just can't find the motivation to continue. I had fun plotting but the issues with my Word keep losing my stuff--I changed to Dropbox paper--but shrugggg. Next year for me :)
Also annoyed that the sprints don't work on the nano website, those motivate me so much more. I also missed the nano local event because they google calendar messed up the listing time.
Anyhowwwww; I'm not blaming a lack of time. I've just been playing video games in my spare time.
tldr: Keep up the great word counts everyone!
My word count now includes an attempt at two other plots, and now a third that I've settled on. I have no idea if I'm going to make it.

Currently a day and a half behind because first I tried to send myself to hospital with anaphylaxis (peanut allergy means business) and then insurance decided to give me trouble re: a Very Important Prescription so I got to spend all day yesterday and all morning today arguing with people while suffering from withdrawal. Finally got my meds around noon today. So now we play catch-up.
Anyone else on a 9-day writing streak and still hasn't gotten the 7-day badge or is it just me? o3o
[sup]Quill.[/sup]
I saw someone else say that in a FB group :/ I'm on the 9th day as well but had no issues, sorry :(
Edit: I read on the forums yesterday about the 10k challenge in 10 hours, on November 10th... So i am attempting it! Anyone else got some crazy goals on the go?
I'm having the same issue and it's really bothering me. shakes fist I've worked very hard for that badge, thank you! I want it. XD
I don't have any goals like that but I'm aiming to get about two days ahead right now because I've got a craft show coming up next weekend, which means I'm much less likely to hit my daily goals Friday-Sunday due to prep, show, and recovery.
I JUST GOT IT. After I entered my first word count for my 10-day streak. o_o
[sup]Quill.[/sup]
I'm on track, I've gotten 20,000 words, but I forgot to post on day 8 and again on day 10, so no 31-day streak again this year. (the only badge I have never earned. )
The whole site's been pretty wonky for me - I think my 7 day showed up after I refreshed around the site for about an hour. The other badges also didn't show up for me for a while.
I'm still over-track, have about 32k. But I barely wrote at all this weekend and still somehow feel behind! I think it's the mid-story slog, where everything seems terrible and inconsequential and boring and the end isn't quite in sight. This is the toughest part for me, just making myself write every day.
Keep it up though! You're doing awesome! (I'm probably not going to get that badge either)
I'm pretty much a day ahead of schedule, so I'm comfortable there. I made a HUGE mistake when I was putting in my word count the other day, however. I miss-typed and put in a 6 digit word count, so now I have the 50k badge and all that jazz. I was sooooo upset. So now I HAVE to finish haha
[sup]Quill.[/sup]
Oh noooo! Talk about self imposed pressure, lol! Congrats on your prospective 6 digit wordcount!
I noticed the word counter doing something weird as well. I'd go in to log wordcount and think "wait, I just typed 2k, how did I already log that number"? But the project stats showed my actual word count. Like, it was pre-estimating the average word count for that day in the update field! SO CONFUSING.
I think it's stopped, but that was really bizarre at first.
