Hooray !
Happy Day 1 of everyone! I've updated the OP with the usernames of those I could find--please let me know if I missed yours and I will add it.
Crossing fingers, hopefully, I will be doing some sprints this afternoon 3pm-6pm ESTish. Sprints are a quick (10/15/30 min) time period where we focus on writing for word-count sake. :D I don't know if they work differently this year since the website changed but keep a lookout if you are interested and we'll figure it out together!
I'm trying my best this morning to write something. After midnight last night, I made it to about 1000 words, but my little boy was sound asleep and it was so much easier. He's awake now and is fighting me for the laptop. He's not even falling for the decoy keyboard I just gave him that goes with my tablet. T-T This is what I get for having a smart baby.

I wrote maybe 50 words yesterday. That’s an improvement to me!
: Happy First Day! I got 1860 words done this morning. My goal this year is to start with 5 short stories about my characters. The intention is to have some shorter, marketable works are easily finished and sold, I want to get published this year. If I have some articles published, then it might make it easier to get my novel manuscripts looked at by a publisher.
I want to vent about the website please and thank you! :D
I signed up late last night (nothing like the last minute, whee) and while to my surprise it accepted my old username, since I wasn't sure it carried over, I was supremely annoyed to go to my local area only to find that the site kept asking me to log in to get to the calendar or forums and then, once I logged in, wouldn't actually show the calendar or the forums.
It's going to be one lonely NaNo if we can't coordinate with our peeps within the region. :c Also, I miss that the regional chat isn't threaded anymore. It's just one big chat stream, and good f'in luck finding anything useful in it as everyone's trying to chat all at once. throws up hands If your business model for organizing people together is so bad it has people moving to Discord just to coordinate, it's a bad business model!
I haven't started writing yet - I have to kinda pay attention to my job first, but I'm hopeful I can get some writing in tonight. I spent last night doing research and making notes on outlines and such - I'm feeling far more prepared this year than usual, ha.
- Shouldn't b hard to find my writer profile on nano, it's the same as here!
- Yeah, the new website is kinda weird. There doesn't seem to be any forums, so I don't know how to tell my region that.... I probably can't make any of the write-ins this year :( They all seem to be on days I can't go.
Also re:website - It reminded me that I signed up for camp in parch with a goal of 30 words.... and I totally failed. Dammit. This year I was supposed to actually write between Dec and november! OTL
Nano WriMo 2019
Idea - Write a book looking into a subjective and realistic outlook on religion and mental health disorders? Is there more to the common consensus between medical professionals that those that deal specifically with schizophrenia have religious preoccupations?
Day One -
So far I am at 1,281 words book wise and 778 words of notes/research on various topics for what I am writing.
Day One -
Well I thought this would be simple task, but I am doing more actual note taking than anything else. I wasn't sure if I wanted to turn this into a fiction novel but ideally after much dilberation prior to the start of this month. I felt personally a non-fiction outlook on the subject would be more suitable for my needs at this current moment in time.
*Edit Day Two - Most of the day was spent at a local high school attending outreach for a dibetic convention. so I didn't get to do much writing at the moment. Still working on notes and research which i am at 255 words note wise. I am looking into concepts of good and evil at the moment so let's just say I should of paid attention more in my philopshy class xD
[box=#eeffee]Total Word Count - as of 11/2/2019 is 2,314 words[/box]

Going to do a at 5:30pm EST if anyone is up for a 30-min sprint. I don't know how to run them through the NaNo website *kicks site in honor of * but we'll set a timer and go! :D Let me know if you're in ;D
After a rough afternoon of writers block and no idea what I'm doing with the story that's bouncing around in my head and at the tip of my pen this made me feel so much freaking better

The website redesign has been really frustrating. I find it hard to navigate and also update some stuff... Like I have no idea how to update the stuff on the my stats page?? Annoying.
Day one is done and I hit 5k words. I won't get any tomorrow because I will be in the car for a total of 4 hours, and training for 3hours... By the time I get home I will be exhausted. xD
Good luck to everyone!! Hope you all had a productive day!!
Oh man, writing takes foreverrrr 801 words for that 30 min sprint.
Good job on 5k words , that is amazing :D
Thanks for the crappy examples , my writing is basically a lot of that. xD
801 words is awesome though! That's nearly half a day's goal!!
- Oof, Non-fiction is hard. I'm writing in a fantasy setting of my own creation, and even I get caught up doing way too much research sometimes! Good luck! It does sound like a great idea.
- lol, yeeeeaaaaah....
- I don't know what you are talking about, 801 words is great for 30 minutes! Better than my average at least.
I'm over 2100 words right now. I'm going to try for 3k now before the night is over.

- Congrats!
I still haven't written anything. Hopefully I can get ahead next week though, because the week after I will be in the Bahamas! I don't really want to take my laptop with me...
Anyone up for a in 10 minutes? 9pm EST for 20 min ^_^
Ah but it feels so tedious! Only have to do 800 words 62.5 more times......... ..... .. xC
I hope you got something written today!
I wish. I'm off in 10, but there personal crisis I have to tend to first.
[sup]Quill.[/sup]
Wishing you well !
Ahh, it's been a rough start for me today! I have met my daily goal already, but I was planning to write to a certain point in my story, so until I finish that I'm not going to say I'm officially done for the day. I'm usually able to make it to around 3k-5k on day one, so I would love to be able to do that much at least, but it's not looking great. 😭 I'm not very happy with what I've written thus far, and it's been quite a slog. Day 2 will hopefully be better, just gotta get through a scene that I don't know exactly how to write.
Also, I agree the new site layout is ... bad, LOL. It's one of the least user friendly sites I've ever used, which - for a thing like NaNoWriMo where my brain is already fried from writing - I'd really rather not deal with at all but I suppose I will have to get used to it ... x_x
That aside, nice job, everybody!! Proud of you all, whether you wrote just a handful of words, or a bunch! Every bit counts, and putting any words on the page is an achievement! :)
Managed a little over 2k words this evening. Good start!
I love you :D
I had a hard time finding that, too! It turns out there's this tiny plus sign up on the header, right next to a tiny clock icon. If you click the plus button, you can upload your word count there and then it autopopulates that to your profile.
Edit: As for updating your project, I think it's the little tiny tiny carrot next to the pushpin icon to the right. Clicking on that will open up a menu that has an edit function for your project info.
