- Even then, the loot from the scientist is really low atm. Though, you may save a bit on the mutant scientists loot (I'm just comparing the price of the CSC to the loot).

I kind of regret some of the challengers, especially the easier ones because their loot becomes so low, and the challengers don't give THAT much exp to make it worth it.

Do you have a Natasha by any chance? I think even an Ornamented Hook Swords would work since it has steal protection. But Ether or Natasha are ideal because they generate weapons to protect yours from being stolen.

[edit]Bear Claw Barrage has got to be the most confusing weapon ever. I've battled Brunhilde 45 times already and it only JUST did 45 physical damage. Omg.

I listed all the freezing scrolls I could equip. It was something like 3 shrieks, 2 psycho smashers, unstable fairy, strong stomp, 2 cold blast and like 5 perilous whirlpool.

How are you losing? Is he freezing?stealing? I gave two options for beating him, which weapons are you using?

So we still have battle stuff to look forwards to which is great!

Yeah, exactly. To me though, the amount of exp still isn't worth the CSC. Especially with BQs. Although, it is nice to have challengers that you can battle for fun every once in a while.

that's fair! i don't split my bqs between my battlers, though, so i like having additional challengers for the smaller ones to fight... that, and some of 'em i just like to have 'cause they're pretty, like rottgeist 8)

I'm still not sure exactly what the solution is supposed to be though. Like do we actually need to do something, or is it just showing up to his shop for a few days and eventually it'll unlock ??

Yeah really.... I mean Amber called him Grumpy Gus... I'm wondering if we need something to reflect that in our inventory.... or was it just a name to coincide with the character... I DUNNO... ;-; I've gone to the shop, clicked on him and left, I've bought things, not bought things... still haven't gotten him. I even make sure to check my challengers list in case I missed the event.

I have a few items locked in my inventory just in case. But if he doesn't unlock from just going into his shop and clicking on him for a few days, I'll definitely start trying other things.

The challengers have been great thanks to the staff. Congrats to everyone rising to defeat the scallywags. It's pleasing to hear up and coming battlers share their experiences (and sometimes frustrations) with each challenger. Not long ago I was right there in that seat, trying to figure out what methodology combined with my available weapons worked best. And hey, losing a fight teaches you more than winning one.

As for the Grumpy potion hoarder, I'm not letting that bum rent space in my head. Let's just hope the key to making him 'panic' isn't something obscure and ridiculous like Throw a piece of cornbread over your left shoulder while standing in the desert at midnight.
