Yeah, the ones at the pet store always look so sad in those tiny cups. I mean, I know they have no choice because you can't put them in a big tank together. But I never knew it was that bad to keep bettas in such small living quarters.

Now that I think back, my sister had one in a tiny bowl, and sure enough, it died shortly after we got it. I don't remember how long my betta lived for (at least a year, he went not too long after Speedy and Jaguar passed).

Well...there is that invisible cream wearable. Maybe you have to go to his store while your HA is invisible? Bonus points for wearing any bugs on top as well~ Just speculation though, doesn't hurt to get a head start, since Amber's determined to stump us lately.

On the topic of Bettas...I had one in one of those square tanks....ended up having to move him to a slightly bigger tank...but he got sick. Had him for 3 years...i was very sad when he died. His name was Mr. Limpet (Points to you if you know where that name is from)

But someone I used to babysit for had one of those Bettas in a vase...and it lived for like...6 years...

People talking about fish, a pet I never owned personally. I however was reminded of the time I went to a pet place and saw several fish in small bowls.... in filth... I told the lady at the counter about them and she said no it's fine those fish can handle the dirty water longer than most..... Which had me worried and confused.

Only noise I can handle is loud music and ONLY when I have control over it... then again I use that to avoid the real world. Everything else.. no... We live close to an airport and those planes give me... some really bad days.

yeah, as far as i know, most fish need a decent size tank to do well. our first two didn't last very long since they were basically in cups, with no filters or anything, but the one who got the big tank with plants and shrimpy roommates stuck around for a few years. you gotta help 'em succeed!

oh god, that's exactly what my mom's party favor fish was in. it's been like ten years and i still think that is just the most ridiculous thing.

Huh....maybe some bettas have personalities or preferences that make them happy. Sadly I don't recognize the reference, but 3 years is amazing for a lifespan~ My betta fish was named....Beta. Yeah, I never thought of a name really for my guy. I was about 10, and sucked at naming.

Thanks! His name is Milo, after the cat from Milo and Otis. Curious, mischievous, and adorable as all get out. Yeah, maybe Beta did as well as he did cause he had the two frogs for company. Did try adding in a few other compatible fish like those ones that stick to the side of the tank, but they never lived long.

Evil planes....my house and the farm are under active flight routes for both planes and helicopters, and I tell you, those 'copters are way too low sometimes cause the whole house shakes like crazy. I've gotten better at putting up with noises but I'm still not crazy about it because I want to protect my hearing as much as I can.

I'm just sitting here refreshing and hoping for new news.

Omg a betta for a friggin party favor?? That is the weirdest thing ever! I feel ya though, I'm sure I had at least one betta in my life who lived in a small bowl. :/ At least you learned and were able to have a nice set up later :) And ya unfortunately it happens with rats very often.. people have friends with a snake or whatever and they think it's the easiest way. Or they leave them outside in a park, that happens a lot too. :( Actually 7 of my 19 rats were gonna be snake food...
