yup. i actually go to sweden every summer since that is where my mom's family is located. i have also studied in italy for a semester a few years ago and the program i did had a mini trip to london before arriving in italy as well.

Thank you for telling us about Germany. I had no idea that some areas of Germany had such drastically different languages/dialects.
There's a lot of German heritage pride in this part of the US. There's a little town, about 45 minutes down the road from where I live, that is super proud of it's German heritage, they even have a working glockenspiel. Every year they throw a Heritage Fest (which is their Octoberfest) and apparently when actual Germans visit they tell them at the Fest that it's more traditional than the ones that happen in Germany lol So I actually grew up with dirndls and Trachten Blouses around me (even though I've never had any).
I'm glad you liked my entry. Could I please have the "Vanity Shade Boots"? This was a nice surprise at the end of a crappy day.
Sure, my lovelies, sending them after work, I have exam prep for my students this Saturday and later, I have to pick up some things for my birthday party tomorrow. Yet it´ll be today, enjoy! ^-^
BIRTHDAY PARTY
Thank you so much for all your good birthday wishes and gifts, my friends! Let´s have a little After Birthday Party here in Colovaria so I can share some of my new releases with you. The jacket is brand new and only up since today and the earrings are a special for my Wayward Squirrel Group The Leviathans and the lovely lady entertaining the very role play. They won´t be available via shop or slotting.
Challenge: I like to have themed birthdays. This year, it´s Sylt, the northern German island which captured my heart. Sylt decoration, Friesentorte (a big flaky pastry cake with vanilla cream and plum jam), red berry compote with custard sauce and Brandungswasser (that´s some kind of sherbet made with elderflower syrup). What kind of birthday themes do you like? Create a HA fitting your theme and post some ideas, please.
Like always, all wearables are allowed and you don´t have to own them. Please use surroundings and a layered makeup.
Please don´t post HAs already created for another challenge in Subeta. Party ends Monday 17th of September, midnight Subeta time.

I love themed birthdays but I hate having birthday parties xD This year I invited some friends for a lenghty DnD session, last year I escaped to Paris with my bff ... but if I had to celebrate a big party I'd go with a color scheme theme. Mayhaps gold? I really like gold?

We celebrate outside, under the warm autumn sun. I'll wear something like this:
My guests are asked to wrap their gifts in metallic wrapping paper, and everyone gets a similar colored goodie bag~
Shiny helium balloons float everywhere, because ... when you don't have helium where's the point in celebrating at all?
Creamy white tablecloths and throws make the metallic golden confetti shine even brighter. On each table is a arrangement of lots and lots of candles, and the white dishes have a decorative golden border.
There's sparkling wine with golden flakes to drink, and coffee with shining sugar crystals. (We have a sugar mill with golden grains at home, if we want to decorate the coffee chic, so that's definitely a thing!) And while we're at it, why not ice with gold?
Of course there has to be cake, but I would rather serve cupcakes and tarts, with fruit and cream and real gold as a decoration.
Wouldn't you love to come over?
