You don’t have to be Italian or a well-known orange cartoon cat to celebrate National Lasagna Day on July 29!
Tomato sauce, cheeses, vegetables, meat (or none) — all separated by wide flat noodles — what’s not to love?
Lasagna first showed up in Naples, Italy during the Middle Ages and made it to America in the 19th century.
Since then, we all have made our own compositions.
So this National Lasagna Day, share your secret recipes! <3

Which is your fav lasagna recipe? Does your family perhaps have a secret one, only given away to the next generation? Now is the time to share this or another one here! Give 1 raffle ticket.

Oh my goodness, this chat thread gets a sudden lasagna boost! I haven't had any for a long time... But I think I have enjoyed some eggplant Parmesan, which is similar but uses eggplant slices rather than pasta to layer with the cheese and tomato.
When I was young, my mother made delicious lasagna. She used cottage cheese bound with beaten egg in place of ricotta cheese, I think because when she was younger, her local grocery didn't carry ricotta. She put chopped green onions in it too, and layered with marinara and noodles it made excellent lasagna.
We made pizza yesterday, I didn´t have all the lasagna stuff at home. I usually make a veggie one with spinach, ricotta, gouda and parmesan.
Veggie, corn, mushrooms, sweet peppers, tomatoes. :-)
(Sorry for late reply, I am still waiting for news of my mum who had surgery this morning).
I hope her surgery went smoothly and she is recovering well!
That sounds like a delicious pizza. I make myself mini pizzas using a corn tortilla as the crust. I usually put mushrooms and onions on it, sometimes peppers if I have them left over from salad or sometimes leftover cooked chicken. They are also good with just some tomato sauce, or pesto sauce, and a light sprinkling of cheese.
I think I could possibly make a lasagne using corn tortillas instead of noodles. I may try it!

I am really anxious at the time being because my mother went into surgery at 8 a-m. and we haven´t heard from her so far and it´s 5.20 p.m. now. She has low blood pressure and we have these heat wave here, I really hope she is okay.
Thank you for complementing the HA, I really love these colors. Wardrobe broke 3 times and I had to do it all over again. This is version 3.0 , LOL
