Oh my!!! As far as stocks here all is good..... not running out yet, but our country is in a pretty bad shape as our prime minister and his wife are quarantine D: plus people who are infected but does not know they are infected attended meetings and gatherings, and they are spreading the virus to the others without knowing, but the good thing is that the ones who knew they got the virus will immediately separate themselves from the others, they ofc don't want further harm to the public. This is never ending.... Oh forgot to add, my little brother's school will close two weeks after the March(spring) break due to the virus :/

It is not so bad yet, where I live. None in my town. People only now are getting frightened. I am much more worried about some of you right now. Thinking it would be a good idea to stock up on canned food and disinfectants while they are still available.

Let's keep in touch here. Will keep all of you and your loved ones in my prayers and thoughts.

People are in a panic here :( As of last night (could be higher now) there are 12 cases in the state I live in. People are clearing shelves in our local stores. It's madness! My family and I are good for right now, we are stocked up on things we will need if it comes to us having to be quarantined.

Keeping you all in my thoughts! Please stay safe everyone! Wash those hands and DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE! XD <3 <3

I spoke too fast. They just closed all our schools in Louisiana for a month, and people rushed to the stores. No toilet paper, disenfectant and most canned food is now gone.

they are not discussing it, schools are closed from monday on for 4 weeks (which is so great because Abitur is coming up and the kids did not fnish the educational things)

also... NOT funny since my kids will all be at home, while hubby and I still have to work

yesterday my oldest daughter called all stressed out, becuase "the boss of my boyfriends best friend" was diagnosed with Corona yeah great - no freaking out

There is NO confirmation her boyfriends best friend has it - nor her boyfriend. So I am not panicing yet, I've been tested twice in th elast 3 weeks (since bronchitis and then pneumonia hit me) and I am negative.

IF her boyfriend is tested positive, that would concern me AND this would make sure I can't go to work either, since I am working with senior citizens.

I'll just wait and see...

And... retirement homes can not close down - all we can do is try doing our best not to take the infection into the home with us XXD

That really sounds weird and makes grocery shopping demanding!

Oh yes, we use high % alcohol here, too.

Online only classes are good for some time. We try it here, too, yet not all families have onlice access.

Yes, viral experts think the infection will last for 24 months.

I stocked up on cat food, most important. :-)

Yes, they even made pizza delivery a non-contact procedure. They have to leave the pizza/pasta at your doorstep now!

One of my patients got quarantined because her husband had contact. It spreads, like a flu. However, mostly cases are mild.

So you are working from home now, love?

Over time, we all will have contact to people who had contact or are infected. Schools are closed for 5 weeks now. That's a drop on hot stone - the infection will last 24 months around when we believe the virologists. Stay safe, love!

I am worried about my senior citizens not myself we had a neighbourhood meeting yesterday (one of each family) and we have set up plans to

a) help sick and elderly people stay safe (meaning whoever is healty enough to go shopping will call around (right now only our two eldery couples) and if the need something and so not wish to go outside, they dispose a bag/Tote/basket with list and money

we return it the same way, putting bag/tote/basket on steh steps and call (and leave but make sure it's picked up)

b) what to do for those who need t work, but have small kids that are out of school/kindergarten

therefore we set up some sort of "daycare" in a garage that was already turned into a playroom and lies beside a playground not the perfect option, but yeah...

I am tested negativ and out of work til wednesday anyway, so monday and tuesday I will take the kids (only the small ones) but we have a smilar thing for schoolkids

I already have done a lot of planning ahaead, so we can provide some fun stuff like working with clay and such our oldest son is doing his "social year" on akindergarten and those are also closed, so he will also take his share of working there.

I try not to panic, my kids are all old enough to stay home alone

Very organized!

I hope the school closings are not backfiring. Kids are only vectors until 12 and if families decide to give their care into the hands of grandparents, they could easily infect them.

that's what we have been discussing but a lot of younger parents work and not everything is closed (my work will not close either)

so there need to be ways to take care. Sure, we do not know wether any of those kids has the infection yet but what else is there to do?

Not everyone has grandparents around PLUS as you said that might backfire as well.

For once I am happy our youngets is 9 and can safely stay at home (he will get schoolwork - I make sure of that)

The Berufsschule my oldest goes to is also closed and she was about getting her job qualification done in aprol and now that "Gesellenprüfung" is delayed - until... ... whenever XD

We officially closed schools across the state yesterday for two weeks. There are at least 53 cases in the state, with 2 deaths. My school has decided to shut down for four weeks (3 weeks of instructional time and one week of spring break). We'll be moving to online classes, which will be interesting in my field of music. I'll also have to keep my daughter occupied with her online schoolwork.

I think the hardest part will be the true social distancing. It's going to be a long four weeks if we can't do things like go to the zoo or playground. It will be interesting to go to the grocery store later today. I am completely unprepared to be home feeding all of us three meals a day for weeks. We're fortunate to get breakfast and lunch at school daily, so this will be a big, sudden adjustment as well.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. <3

I was able to stock up on catfood, too. Just wish my daughter did not live so far away. She works at a coffee house..not a great way to avoid a virus..especially because she already has low immunity issues.

Do you think people will go for cat food and stuff next? :O I wonder if we should stock up on pet food too.... We have quite a few cats plus strays we feed.
