How is it our there where you live?
I had an important appointment yesterday with a conveyancer and it was cancelled an hour before our meeting because they had a case of Corona and the public health department closed the law office for an indefinite period of time. At the moment, recommendation would be 2 weeks.
We have issues with food and consumables, too. Flour, noodles, canned food, lentils and even toilet paper are constantly missing in the shops and the pharmacies run out of disinfectant and masks (I wouldn't buy one anyway yet I have a severe problem with the disinfectants for my practice, l opened the last bottle some days ago).
They've been tackling the issue here where I am, but we weren't hit as hard as the US and Italy. Only a few cases so far and they are all in either isolation or quarantine. Food is fine, toilet paper still available and people are calm here about this sort of thing. Government has it under control, but I don't know about the rest of Europe... they've kind of lost it.
I guess the flu won't be as bad this year since people are taking no human contact seriously... so that's a plus... 😬
I hope everyone is alright though.
I do not understand the panic buying of disinfectant. There are so many ways to disinfect a surface... bleach, ammonia, paracetic acid, iodine, verdant green, rubbing alcohol, clear spirits (high proof), regular soap and water, etc.

Oh yes, yet desinfectant for hands is important in my practice, working with acupuncture and such. Pharmacies are mixing some of their own now yet the alcohol used for this is short now, too.
It's weird live this days. I'm just back from the mall where people can enter one by one to buy food and stuff The most weird thing is the perception from people out of italian borders
Belarus. So far only 6 cases confirmed. Although there was one case in a village not far off from me. They're doing the right thing by acting fast and keeping everyone calm about it at the same time.
Yea, that is a bit of a predicament then. In a field medic sense, 100% proof vodka and other high proof alcohol works, but that may not be optimal and is potentially expensive. I guess moonshiners are now in business for making disinfectant, an odd turn of events.
Maybe breweries could jump on the bandwagon and act as disinfectant distilleries for at least the alcohol component. At least until the virus starts to die off.
