So I have an issue I need some of y'alls opinions on. It's nothing serious, just something bouncing in my head that's Subeta related. A few years ago, the former owner of my pet Zilpah contacted me lamenting on the fact I had done nothing with her profile. It kinda threw me for a loop because, why would you do that? It kinda stalled my creativity because it made me feel guilty for not doing more...

I have all these grandiose ideas for my pets and they are grouped together a certain way for that reason, but their profiles are slow going (I also keep getting more, lol). I have a few pets that have stories but no skills to spruce up their profiles. I have hit a major writer's block on the pets I am linking together, but the ideas are still there. I guess I just need some reassurance that I'm just fine even though my pace is slow and fancy schmancy profiles, while nice, are not necessary at this stage.

You shouldn't worry about it too much! As long as you're not giving up, it's fine. In the end, it's just a game site that's supposed to be for fun, and working on stories for your pets and everything is just like some fun extra stuff to do. Heck, I haven't even really done anything with my pets even though I've had some ideas. All I've got is a partial TC for Carbonite lol.

Personally, I think it's kind of rude of the previous owner to bring that up. It's not their pet anymore, so the pace of your working on their profile and story isn't really any of their business.

I was taken aback by that interaction. I was surprised because they gave up their pet and I have put a lot into her stats, building up an idea for her at my own pace.

I think I found my writing muse again too! As soon as I wrote that post, I was able to bang out a little story for Nanatsu. :) Thanks for the encouragement about pace too. I needed to hear/read it.

Unless you specifically agree on terms adopting a pet, you have no obligation towards doing certain things. Many users don't do much with pets and enjoy collecting them. I have less pets and do more with them but even then I don't develop everything... some focus more on battle, others treasure, etc.

I have so many ideas. They are just jumbled up in my head. Occasionally, a thought will come to the surface that I can run with, but lately that's been few and far between. It definitely helped to get it out though. :)

that's incredibly rude of them, and if they were rude enough about it and upset you it could be classified as harassment. Was it an adoption centre adoption or through a board? They've still got no claim to the pet as soon as it left their hands either way - but if it wasn't through a board they've got even less of a leg to stand on.

Don't let anyone get you down about not working on a pet to their standards! I love my pets very much and I've never done much with them. At the end of the day we're all in charge of our own experience on this site and how ever someone wants to handle pets is valid.

So on a positive note: tell me about one of your babies!! I've always got vague story lines for some of my pets, even though I haven't outlined them and I love hearing about other people's pets.

Having a bad week! My car key broke and I can't find the spare :( I think a piece of the key may have broken off in the ignition. This stinks! I knew that stupid flip key thing was going to be a pain in the butt!

Zilpah was in the Adoption Agency. I assume the owner looked her up by name to see where she ended up. This was YEARS after I had adopted her too.

If you look on Nanatsu and Rhylthara's profiles they have a connected story. I have a poem I wrote on Mystra's profile and I am trying to weave in how Skishy will be involved. I envision him as her protector. I need to start working on a paladin-esque type treasure chest for him. Aiolas and the other 3 legeicas are in the early stages of a story in my head. I was working on Twigg today as I just adopted him. If we have a plot this summer, I may springboard off of that for an idea for them.

If you take a look at Kleenex, Poukie & 010 those are my pets that I worked more their profiles. Kleenex is a build-up for her treasure, Poukie it's more the story, 010 I got the idea before getting the pet and managed to get her on a trading board.

So... there's been probs with the residence where it wasn't safe to move in so people that were scheduled to move at the start of this month have all been pushed back. Pretty much mass chaos for most people... except me that had the foresight of insisting on moving middle of next month. I'm the last one but it'll be a lot less stress B)

hugs That is a shame. I feel bad for all those people who can't move in yet. I hope they all have other arrangements for now.

OH I love them all! You did such a great job. :) I'm hoping to have a few more completed (or mostly completed) pet profiles done by the end of the Summer.

^ & The administrators managed to help people find accommodations, storage, solutions, etc. The worst part is they are caught in the middle... contractors not keeping their word and pissed off renters. They're volunteers trying to help and it's been a very challenging road for them. I know of one girl that is in a sticky situation... parents sold the house middle of April so she's been couch surfing since then desperately wanting to move in... but she made the situation worse for herself because her parents do have a room for her to stay in the new place. It's just they live much further away from the city and she works... kind of wants the entire cake without an indigestion. I'm just glad people will have a bit of time to calm down cause that's going to be one toxic pissed off, stressed out beyond belief atmosphere the next few weeks. For myself... I'm continuing to slowly pack while gardening :D I got help from Carole (sees me 1 hr every two weeks). We managed to pack 3 kitchen boxes, yay ^^ I also had a crazy morning dealing with documents & I relaxed tonight in the garden removing weeds and socializing ;)

Lol wow, so they abandoned their pet on their own and then had the audacity to complain to you about not doing anything with the pet years after the fact? Yeah, just ignore them, it's absolutely none of their business what you do or don't do with it at this point. I would just let it go the first time, but if they keep bringing it up then maybe consider reporting them like said.

Ooooh I REALLY love Mystra! I love characters that believe in keeping the balance between light and dark (like gray jedi) and your poem is gorgeous.

Her name comes from a Dungeons and Dragons 3rd edition goddess. She would totally classify as a gray jedi. I was extremely pleased when I finished her profile. I wish I had the coding experience to spruce up her page and enter it in the spotlight. I want to link her and Skishy and see if my husband (a computer programmer) can point me in the direction of some easy coding program.

I let it go after our short conversation, but it stuck in my craw for a few years. Totally a downer for inspiration. I'm glad I talked it out on here though. It definitely helped get some life back into my time on here. :)
