- it's very difficult to beat Rita at T8 - I'm using the Hydragellos Lost Tooth and both shields (Mirroring Shield of Brilliance and Chancellors War Shield) and still needing to throw everything but the kitchen sink. Managed two wins, we'll see how it goes.

If you wanted to boost to T9, you might be able to borrow a Gelatin Slayer, but you'd also need the Mirroring Shield. Or a core plus the Chancellors shield. Those sets block all three of her main attack icons while still letting you attack. Except for the Ultra Star Rod - there is no big block that works with one of the shields for a T8. The Tooth is the closest I've found so far.

For what it's worth, 's guide lists Rita as suited for "pets who are at least tier 10/11" ()

Mmmm I'm not worried just get a headache when I'm in a constant loop of losses.... I'll be tier 10 within the next 2 weeks or so maybe...

have you tried using Charged Tower Shield or Large Gutting Knife? they have a heal.

- Thanks for the suggestion. I have a Large Gutting Knife. Those have heal, but not enough block. Rita hits for lots more than the heal, so it's the blocking that counts here. Tos 10 wins used no healers except for Aftershocks and Gift of the Forj. (Strange, I know, but that's what worked. :-) )

true, i always go for healing weapons first but i guess there are times when you just gotta rely on blocking. :(

Tharg got his third win. Actually expected to lose this battle near the end, but somehow didn't. Now past the halfway point. Three down and only two more to go. Time to restock the battle stuff.

- the way it was explained to me is that as you go up in tiers, your opponents will start doing damage that you can't heal. So blocking is really your best choice. Some of the challengers I'm already seeing often hit for double my health or more, so even a Phoenix Quill doesn't keep me alive. After dying that way a few times, you learn to adapt your strategy. :-)

- congratulations on getting tomes out of the Mage. I don't think he really likes to give them away.

Ha ha thanks that was really unexpected, I usually go there and see nothing or get yelled at and told to get lost. :P Well I do like the Helm... only cause if does offer anti-freeze... but the DDS does offer a dark block and freeze so I have options now.

If you visit BHH regularly you will find things there. And it seems to me as though items are showing up more often recently.

That happens all the time. I get so used to nothing being there that I don't notice at first. It's always so shocking to see something for sale. No need to get yelled at though. You're allowed to visit a set amount of times close together (and then there's a wait period before you can do it again). So if you count the visits until you get kicked out, you'll know how many are allowed. (I hope that makes sense.)

Still stuck at three wins. Not getting the freezing I need anymore. Either need to figure out how to block better or hit harder. Time for a break.

Definitely would like to borrow an Ultra Star Rod if only to see if two more wins can be done. I can't find another weapon T8 or below with a large enough dark (or large enough light) block plus a reasonable attack. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

- I guess. There seem to be several people who want it. I assume for their wardrobe since I'm told it's usually not all that great for battling. It just happens to be the only puzzle piece that fits this particular need. Oh well, as I said, I'll probably give it several more tries later. I wouldn't mind making dozens of tries, but I'm using pylonics, potions or shards every turn and buying them (and then reequipping them is getting to be something of a strain. I could probably just boost Tharg to T9 and finish the last two wins with the Gelatin Slayer, but I really want to see if it can be done with a T8. Not that big a deal in the end though.

I am so close to T8 I can taste it. If I dip into my booster stash I can be there before the boppers go... What are the chances of any wins at all on Maliss/Vintage Prodigy?

For Maliss I was thinking of bringing to set up with, but once that's over I'm not sure whether to go with dual-duty attack/defense ( ) or just bring a standard attacker ( ?) and blocker ( ?) and go at it. Or whether I should be using Divine Denizhen (Lucent Barrier?) or whatever my best attack scroll is once I run out of Cobalts.

As usable weapons go, my might be usable against Vintage Prodigy if not Maliss... thoughts, anyone?

I'd definitely throw the Blessed Trident in since it will give you the ability to block Maliss' wind icons. Healers ain't gonna do anything (healing is disabled), so use as many of your shields as you can along one or two dual duty attackers (you need to block as much as possible). Use any normally-negative healing scrolls to reap extra damage like Psycho, and/or as many Cobalts or Fatal Fires as you can.

Yeah I'd love to see AON appear there again, just to have some on the market would be nice. I could live without SL though for sure lol

I can't remember, doesn't the Hustler give out AoN by a very small chance? Imagine if they put Keiths Freezing Wand in there; it'd have to be 1 million crystals.

It's supposed to come from his boxes, along with those stupid staffs :P 1m is too high, it could sit comfortably for around 250k though!! idk if I even want one of those lol
