Takumi is one of my favorite Fire Emblem characters in general. I just love him. In fact, one of my few fan pets here is a Takumi fanpet (well a LeoxTakumi fanpet. NO SHAME)

I finally got my Shiro thanks to the new banner, so I went to pull just colorless from the bridal rerun... hoping to get a new Cordelia since mine has abysmal stats... and I pulled my 4th bridal Lyn on the 1st try (2nd for this banner alone) :') Sigh. I think I'm done with this banner for now.

Sup everybody. Decided to try out Fire Emblem Heroes a few days ago, and I am quite pleased at the gameplay experience right now. Picked up a couple heroes, learned the ropes, and I am quite interested in building the best out of my characters. I do find myself running through orbs fairly quickly though (and right now, my income isn't so disposable), but I imagine I could just grind for them. Other than that, I am enjoying it so far. Not sure where to go from here, honestly...

Grinding for orbs is really the best way to get them. When you first start out it's easy since you'll have all the chapters to go through on Normal, Hard, and Lunatic - you get an orb for completing each one. Definitely keep an eye on the quests, because they will help you stock up on orbs! It's always fun when a new month rolls around and you forget there are new monthly quests - and suddenly you have a bunch of orbs (hooray!)

Really, just collecting the heroes and building them how I like is what keeps me entertained with it :) There's definitely multiple ways to build everyone and SO many different ways to customize teams. FEHKeeper at https://fehkeeper.com/ is a great place to store heroes (I only put my 5* and GHB heroes in there now so it's not so cluttered), but I use GamePress a lot to help with builds and the like - https://fireemblem.gamepress.gg/

Welcome! There's a good balance, in my opinion, between spending money on orbs and not. I've never felt shafted as a free to play player and orbs are released at a very steady rate between events, quests and dailies - you can expect anywhere from 300 to 400 freebie orbs a month. At the beginning you'll feel constantly starved of them, I'd imagine, but there are a lot of them to collect with all the story maps and chain challenges. If I were starting out, I'd aim to complete Book II Chapter 1 and Xenologue 3 on Normal ASAP. They both offer free 5* Heroes in Fjorm and Legendary Ike, and both are very powerful. You should check out the Tempest Trials if you haven't already, too, they offer some really amazing rewards for little investment. Just battle at a level you can handle and you'll get lots of nice freebies rolling in.

Also I just checked and have 100 unique 5* characters in my barracks! Whoo! Some have merges on them obviously but still think it's a pretty cool milestone.

Hahaha don't tempt me! Nah he does look cool but legendary heroes have always been a bit... eh to me. Not brave enough to snipe for them with all the horror stories I've read. I'll take my happy coincidences and run with 'em.

Hmmm upgraded to 535 the other day. Whoops... I really need to start deciding what I'm gonna do with all these spare copies of GHBs that just fill up my barracks. I feel so bad for foddering them!

- 535? I don't have the orbs to spend on upgrading barracks, you clearly have better summoning luck than I do, 100 5s AND enough spare orbs to have upgraded your barracks what... 47 times?

- I've had to become more ruthless with sending home with all these GHB units hanging around. But at least I have more feathers? I've stopped merging my useless 4s too. I'm never gonna build Est or Virion, so what's the point in even having a 4s +10.

- Welcome to FEH! The game is pretty good with free units etc. And in my experience, spending money doesn't pay off. Twice I spent money on orbs, and twice I ended up without the unit I wanted. So I've stopped doing that.

I am... an indecisive mess. I have fodder for all occasions that I will never ever use and characters that I will never ever build. Especially stuff that I'd need to promote to use as fodder... Like, why do I still have 5 Hawkeyes when I have 4 Kleins? And why do I have 5 Tatanias when I'm never gonna build her and have 8 Leons if I really need Guard? Hahaha such a disaster. Ah well, barrack expansions are so cheap compared to summoning that it's easy to just expand expand expand. I'm happy to spend 20 orbs for 100 more slots if eases my summoning anxiety - because having to trash units while I summon is 100% my least favourite thing to do in game and is a never-ending nightmare.

Pahaha see above. I think about what crappy units and disappointments those 47 orbs would have got me and... I can't say I regret my decision.

Also I lied and actually have 99 unique 5*s noooo. I forgot about my two Minervas who I've had for around a year and never got around to building, they just sit around at level 40 and stare me down.

585 over here x: it was much easier to give up my sunday orb to barracks expansion than to figure out builds so. here i am. with a big mess lol. (it's getting... better, haha. xander is fully merged and everything, and camus is next. gonna merge ursula after that, i think.)

i've got my fingers crossed for you too ;o; i sniped blues for ninian, dunno if that actually makes a difference or not though -- i think you get a better pity rate with full rolls, but it feels like my orbs last longer when i snipe?? i feel like that's a placebo effect kind of thing, tho.

it's a tough choice x; wait for the banner info and see when he's scheduled to come back, and then decide, maybe? since he might skip the next banner, like ephraim did.

as for the gauntlet... you've got a tough choice haha! i'd go with whoever you'd want to stick with the whole time, since a first round loss can be hard to predict these days o: (and at this point i don't want to try and guess what they've got planned for june! but i really do hope we see hrid and bruno this month ;w; )

- I need those pity rate boosts. I have the shittiest luck ever. Seems like my favourite pass time is converting orbs into feathers.

- I definitely doo better when I'm not being discriminatory. That's how I ended up with Grima and LLyn when I was aiming for Ephraim, cus I was happy to get what I could get from that particular banner. Then it took me like 120 more orbs to get Ephraim. Same thing happened when I was gunning for LA Hector and LA lyn, got Hector in only 40 or so orbs, then 150 orbs later finally summoned Lyn.

But I also DO NOT WANT Tharja or Sanaki...so I'm stuck summoning only blue in order to not get them as pity breakers. (A la NY Camilla, WAS summoning only Green and Colourless for Takumi or Azira, and then after summoning 4 of 5 orbs with one red left, I was like, what's the harm in summoning this one red, it only costs 3 orbs... Hello Pity breaker.)

But even then, before I knew colour sniping was a thing in the early game, it took me at least 2 weeks before I finally summoned a 5* on one of those first two banners. I just have bad luck.

Yeah I kinda go between the two, usually do full pulls of the first couple of circles then snipe from there. The reality is the pity rate increase is really really small and insignificant but I find it tempting nonetheless. You will get more 5*s if you do full pulls but... they might not be the units you want.

And hey, I got 6/10! Not too shabby, I'm kinda proud of my meagre accomplishment. I feel like I probs should have got one of the other questions right (your other orb drain) but otherwise happy.

And Ryoma's stat line is... really good. Honestly I don't think he's suited to Raijinto at all, just doesn't have the defences to make it work, but he'd be sweet with something like Firesweep though it's a shame to replace his legendary weapon.

- I usually do the first one or two full as well, but that's how I ended up with Dup Kinshi Hinoka. So I decided to go straight snipe after that. I'm up to 5% pity rate again. Last time I got here, I summoned Ishtar. At least she wasn't a duplicate.

Have you foddered the Hinoka yet? I didn't realise healers could inherit the Bond skills so that could be an option if you have any razzle dazzles in the wings. I gave my Hinoka the Flier Formation seal so she could take advantage of Bond alongside Desperation. It's not the most consistent thing but fun when she gets the chance to teleport around.

I also decided to upgrade Atk Smoke in hopes it'd increase L!Ike's tankiness on auto battle (I gave him QR3 so he procs Radiant Aether all the time, I actually really like him as a unit) to... mixed results. I tried to run Vantage + QR on him as well but he still found a way to die often. I actually upgraded it for Bridal Lyn and found out staffs can't use smokes after hm. Candlelight is pretty fun but omg does she love to run into danger. Miracle helps a little but she doesn't have any way to get her health back after that so it's a once and done thing. Renewal seal when, IS? There's some staffs and things which could help but don't really want to promote a healer for fodder so eh. I tried auto without her weapon but she still found a way to get into trouble constantly heh.

Edit: lol ended up pulling a W!Robin pretty quick (after the game decided to bombard me with colourless orbs?) and he's... +Spd -Def noooo. I was set on tossing him as fodder but that's a pretty decent IV taking him up to 37 speed. I don't really care for his art and am merging Effie so eh, maybe I'll still toss him to Elise.

I'm doing the sunday orb thing too for my barracks! I feel 1 orb a week is really nothing but having larger barracks is nice. Especially since I'm so undecisive about what to do with my spare 5* fodder (looking at you Hector, Celica, B!Ike etc) I've only been doing it for a couple months though so I am at 385 right now.

Legendary banner so far got me a NY!Takumi, pretty happy with the pull, I didn't have a NY unit yet even if I spent many orbs on the banner. Just checked the Ivs and he's +Def/-Atk though so I doubt I'll use him at lot. :/

No Alight theme for the battle sadly! That map design is a nice reference to Conquest though... I actually picked up the game again a few weeks ago and recently did the Ryoma chapter, I only have the last one to do now.

I gave spare Hector to Effie and spare B!Ike to Fae and am actually very happy with both decisions - I hesitated for a long time but they've both proven themselves. Fae almost single-handedly soloed Ryoma's Infernal map thanks to Steady Breath + Aether, with Azura, Rein and B!Lyn chilling in the back haha.

And it's so fun to see the maps translated across, they're pretty good at getting the small details right.

Definitely gonna grind for orbs in order to get more units. I'm hoping to get the best units possible in my teams (as well as some fodder to use for getting skills). I wanna try to roll for another Brave Ike before the event ends so I can get Steady Breath on an armor unit like Lukas or Gwen. I also wanna roll another Hana (preferably Atk+, Res- or Spd+, Res-) so I can go for a Brave Sword+ or Wo Dao+ build. There's a lot I wanna do to get some good units, and I hope I can put in a good amount of grinding to get there.

- It's true, this game hates me! I got a bunch of feathers on my B8 banner summon. I haven't foddered Hinoka yet, I'm still leaning to give it to reg. Hinoka. I have no wrazzle dazzle healers. I have never summoned Genny or Bridal Lyn.

I am at a loss for Ryouma infernal. It took me an hour of hopping around on Lunatic to beat it.

If I could give you one or two of my bridal Lyns, trust me, I would :( Every time she pity breaks me I just want to send her home. I remind myself "You need Candlelight and/or Dazzling Staff DON'T DO IT" and barely hold myself back.

As per usual, I'm having the worst luck on the legendary banner and am up to 9.5% :') I hate summoning from these things. I just want that new Ryoma because he's pretty, sigh.
