I'd like another ranged armour (especially on Rival Domain maps where ranged are so handy for taking camps n stuff) but eh, maybe she'll wander home eventually.

I have my DS with me at the moment so downloaded both Shadow Dragon and New Mystery before I left. I'd like to check out Geneology, too, seems very warmly received and I've kinda fallen for poor, fated Sigurd too.

Yeah it's totally less about some people getting alts than the SAME PEOPLE getting them over and over again. IDK I'm of that rare mind that even with the most recent voting for the next round of Brave heroes, maybe it would have been okay to skew the results since... we were already getting another Hector AND another Ephiram AND another Celica... but that's just me :') The fact that right now we have an event going on that's literally like "Here are maps featuring characters that have 500 alts" is a little telling imho.

(FWIW I LOVE SOME ALTS. I love my male Grima Robin. I love my stupid ass Chrom who can't really ride a horse. I love my bridal Cordelia but Cordelia is my favorite character so I'm partial to her. But ... 5 Lyns? That just seems so unnecessary)

ONE OF YOU cries god I got two Love Abounds Lyns, three Bridal Lyns, two Brave Lyns (one instantly became Swift Sparrow fodder for someone else :V) and one regular Lyn and they just sort of make me cry. Although yet another opinion of mine, I'm kind of fed up with the random armored units too. Like Christmas Tharja? Who is wearing a bikini????? but she is armored????? why???????

- Shadow Dragon is pretty meh compared to the other games now, but it started it all. Geneaology was a good game, there's a lot you can do with it. I went in blind, and had a lot of fun. I dunno if I would want to play it again, there's a lot of planning and mechanic things that I would want to look up beforehand to give certain characters certain skills and I think it would actually drive me nuts if I were to play it again.

- Welcome! I stopped spending money on this game after 200$ still didn't get me Hector, twice. They don't get my money anymore, but I'm getting pretty good with orb thrift. There's only one released character now that I really want (Hector, grumble) and only like two that they have yet to release that I would be super excited about.

I love Lyn, she was the first FE character I got to play with ever. FE7 was the second video game I ever owned (after mario) and I could only beat Lyn mode when I was 12, so Lyn is a character I'm really familiar with. And as someone who loves Lyn... I'm Also not really digging 5 Lyns in FEH. I have ll of them except bridal (because that banner was dumb) but the only one I actually tried for was the Valentine's Lyn (and mostly only cus I wanted a mage armour, and didn't want Bikini/Metal cape Tharja and didn't get Henry) Seems like you and Lyn is like me and Camilla though; hate her, have gotten all 3 of her forms as pity breakers.

Heroes really does need some more diversity in the alt forms though. Like Marth? Marth? ye 'ole original lord? Remember him? Marth? pls? (Masked Marth really doesn't count) I am happy that the older games are getting more love now (and it's not a constant Fates! Awakening! bombardment) but those games have more than 3 characters yo!

- Congrats? I dunno, it didn't seem like you were too happy about Lyn. I feel like Distanct/Close counter seals would break the game. I highly doubt they will ever be a thing.

Perfect Bride is the bomb, she's my lead unit. I pulled a +Spd on one of the legendary banners and she's basically never left my arena team since, Firesweep with Savage Blow is so fun and flexible. If they rerun brides I might roll more colourless; my Elise has been waiting paitently for Wrathful or Dazzling Staff for a long, long time and I wouldn't say no to Cordy merges. Yeah it seems a little basic at the moment and I'm terrified to reclass anybody even though it's reversible haha. And the Gaiden requirements are... wow, something else.

I did Kana with fliers which was kinda dumb cos of all the archers, but I had the team prepped so just used them. Took quite a few attempts to work out the positioning while trying to bait them off the tiles.

- Sent you a request as well! Mathilda ... I'm not using her on principle because she was a really bad pity breaker (like 200 orbs in and trying to get a unit that wasn't even blue, but ended up with a mostly blue summoning circle) I almost rage foddered her off for cancel affinity, but the collector in my wouldn't let me do it. Yours is good mage bait, that's essentially what I used her for in Echoes too! Hrm, Cancel Affinity would be a fun seal to have.

- I did one run with everyone just as is, then I did I run where I reclassed everyone for fun. The standout reclassed unit was Bord, he did WAY better as a dark mage than he ever did as a fighter. Aren't the gaiden requirements to like kill off half your party? lol. The game has changed so much since the original came out.

i'm a little eh on her... on one hand, i'm mostly f2p so i can't complain about a 5* or a legendary, but she was the one i wanted least out of the three greens and i used way more orbs than i should've just to break my pity rate p; (& yeah, i know close/distant counter seals are never gonna happen, but a girl can dream, haha)

and ugh, kana's infernal map was ridiculous. i managed it with flier emblem somehow, but jesus, i'll never be able to repeat that win ><;; i'm glad GHBs are 0 stamina now, i would've needed so many stamina pots, bleh

- I ended up with Lyn as well (she showed up after I finished summoning the circle after I got Grima) she's pretty meh, but I'll probably use her for her legendary bonus. Now Nowi can get +3 attack and + 3 res. Yeah, I'm glad it's 0 now too. I've only attempted it twice, but both times I got beaten soundly.

Thank you for the request!! Ahh I understand the Pity Breaker thing -- she's done it to me a few times! Luckily I can go WELL INTO MY MASTER MATHILDA YOU GO with them, though I just need ONE MORE! It is so much fun to stick her in the middle of a bunch of mages however and just watch them fall, one by one x) Mathilda was my favorite (and strongest!) unit in SoV, so I was just so excited when she got into Heroes. I think that's why I've invested so much time and love into her ❤️

(cape?) lene is really pretty, i kinda want to roll for her but she's sharing her focus color with ares... ishtar is pretty too but her pose is weird. probably the first suekane art i'm not super in love with tbh. (i hope yoshiku gets to draw more units... apparently the only other one they've done is bridal caeda? i want yoshiku emblem.)

ooh, congrats on grima! i was pretty meh about her debut but grima's been really good for ghbs and stuff so i figure i shouldn't be all that mad about the new lyn either, haha

those people just have no taste. the favorite unit gets all the best stuff, and that's just how it goes p:

- I've seen some people build some pretty weird units, DC Berkut's Lance Mathilda makes good sense in my mind. Better than DC Berkit's lance donny! But seriously, any unit with DC is good cus DC is GOOD. I have no fodder for DC and never will OTL cus this game hates me and I will never have Hector. I think my Mathilda got RNG screwed in SoV, she was one of my weakest units at the end, her and Clair both ended up getting bad RNG. At least Mathilda wasn't weak to arrows, cus Archers were stipud OP in that game. I regretted making Fae a peg knight every time I deployed her in battle.

- Ooo new banner vid is out? Is Ares power creepin' Eldigan? Ares was pretty much my all star unit in Geaneology. And, coincidentally, he was 'married' to Lene (but then, the game practically hands you their support on a silver platter). Ishtar... she was an enemy unit iirc, with OP enemy stat buffs, I doubt she'll be as good in FEH. That's how it works.

omg yeah the RNG totally screwed you I think - Clair was my other best unit! I'm so disappointed with how ugly her art is in Heroes (it's... so so so bad) because I loved her in SoV but I just can't bring myself to use her in Heroes with that terrible, awkward face. Though I feel you abut Faye and archers, hahaha -- the range really spoiled me when it was my team and really pissed me off when it wasn't!

A banner I can pretty easily skip... yay! I'm just going to do my free summon and open the rest of the orbs then call it a day. I guess Eldigan will probably get the Mystletainn refine later so that's good, I never used him. And I think Ishtar was awaited by a lot of Genealogy fans so I wouldn't be surprised if she got OP stats actually, we'll see! But I'm in no hurry to get them anyway since they'll stay in the pool. Back to saving!

he... might be? if i'm understanding the weapon description correctly, if you give ares a 3 turn special he will Always have 0 special cooldown (-1 turn by default and then -2 after combat). hopefully eldigan gets a dark mystletainn refine and comes home to me someday lol.

Haha... I've had a few goes at Kana Infernal but I am not that bothered about him (or Corrin tbh) so I'll call it a day. Got very close with Fliers and then couldn't remember how I'd gotten that far and hit a brick wall. Also - my archers kept missing in SoV (looking at you, Python). When they hit they were great, but I do remember yodelling at the screen on more than one occasion.

I never really played with Mathilda, but my MVP was Dread Fighter Saber. A crit every time, and nearly no-one could hit him. I wish he was easier to get in Heroes :C

I like Ares design too, I think he and Eldigan share an artist so I'm enjoying the resemblance between father and son 8) Dark Mystletainn looks pretty ridiculous.

The art is all top notch this round (Ishtar is beautiful and very interested to see how Julius will look) but I think I can skip this banner and continue saving for units I really want. I haven't played that far in Genealogy yet.

ALSO is that a new male OC in the trailer?!?!?! Some people on reddit seem to think it is Surtr's son others think it is un-warded Surtr. Either way I am excited for the new chapter, almost as much as I am for the enemy phase music going off.

On one hand I know we desperately needed a better assortment of armored units... but on the other hand, I don't understand the choices??? and I hated this trend of suddenly making a bunch of alt outfits armored when they really have NOTHING to do with armor? the first thing i did after the update was upgrade clair (effective against armored and cavalry! +1 special charge if her speed is higher than her foes! clair is getting. some kinda fancy A slot to replace darting blow... maybe life and death if i can swing it?) and the seCOND WAS TURN OFF ENEMY PHASE MUSIC AW YEAH

they do have the same artist! it was a good choice, they look really good c:

- I gave Leon all the stat boosts because archers were so OP in that game.

- My Python also missed all the time, Leon on the other had was pretty much my MVP (though, as I mentioned earlier, I did give him all the stat buffs) him and Kliff (who was a mage) Mages were also pretty OP in SoV. Mages were OP because of the stupid 'tiles' that were EVERYWHERE giving everyone +20 avoid from any physical attacks.

- Yeah, I'm probably just gonna take my freebie and run with this one as well. Ishtar looks really good, but not better than Michaiah I think. And the other two I'd be happy to have them, but I won't miss them.

- Yeah, random armour emblem is weird, Winter Chrom and Lissa ALSO didn't really make sense as armour. Lyn I accept because her dress reminds me of Saber from Fate Stay Knight, but it's still a stretch.

- Lol, I saw those, Ylgr is SO adorable! I want her. But the other guy? He is just design barf. It looks like a bunch of people were working on a design and just couldn't decide on a concept so just added EVERYTHING. Weapon? Club or Axe? Can't decide, both. Head, Helmet or Horn? Both! Shoulders: Paudlons or cloak? BOTH!

- New update means that units that die still get their EXP and SP! Should make multi-training a bit easier. :D (They keep EXP and SP even if you lose the map too!)

So what do you guys think of the Arena changes? I'm actually kind of like "Oh, that's it?" about it -- when we read it last night, it made it seem like you'd be able to do them over and over for the various "1-2-3-etc" chain prizes, and I thought it was a good way to get people to burn through the hundreds of dueling swords they likely have hoarded (at least I know I do!) -- but it's really just the same arena, just two less battles and a couple extra prizes. I did appreciate the boost on my bonus unit, but it's going to take a while to getting used to my score just being in the 3000s and still being good, haha!

LOVE the fact that they finally made it so if you die you still keep EXP and SP. That's probably my favorite big change this update.

I swear we just posted at the EXACT same time! At least with the random horse emblem characters, they've fit it into their dialogue. Chrom on his horse cracks me up every time I use him. I just wish instead of rehashing already-existing characters as armor units for /no reason/, they would put... some actual armored characters in instead??

- New Arena is... meh? I don't really care either way. I wonder how much harder it will be to get a defence score with the stat buffs though. I guess I'll never break that 5k arena points window though. Oh well.

- My friend whom I played Geaneology with and I were talking about it last night, and he reminded me of one thing that I thought I would pass along. If you are playing with the save after every turn feature (which I recommend because I'm sure you've noticed, those maps are HUGE) be sure to make a back-up save at the beginning of every chapter (I'm assuming you are using an emulator) because there is NO way to restart a chapter in that game, and there ARE situations you can get it that will make it impossible for you to beat certain maps. (My friend literally could not beat the game without restarting the WHOLE GAME)
