Our a/c stopped working some time on Sunday. Holiday weekend so couldn't call the heating and cooling company until Tuesday and they couldn't come until Wednesday. Turns out it's not the a/c but he thought we needed a new breaker because it wasn't getting enough power. Sigh. Been trying to get in touch with the electrician since the a/c guy left yesterday, even stopped at their place of business but nothing. Got a couple more electrician options from our plumber and mom said if we hear nothing by the end of lunchtime she would try one of the others. Really like the old guy we used before but we've been without a/c for 5 days and while we're muddling through it's really hard at times. Mom is coughing more. Also it seems the lack of power in the fusebox is causing other electrical issues (certain outlets not working). Really concerned about how much this is all going to cost but it's not something we can not fix.

Sorry to whine. It's not been at all fun since we got here.

How awful! One thing after another... Hope everything works out ok. It all sounds miserable. And the food really is odd. But then that seems to be a factor in pregnancy anyway - if women have weird cravings for odd combinations, it would be logical that other foods for no apparent rhyme or reason make others really sick. I saw a medical video in the dr office today that said in some people taking multi vitamins and supplements, esp with B12, B6, Calcium, Zinc, and Iron, it causes sleeplessness and nausea. And it isn't because of those particular vitamins, which are good for you, its how much of them a person might take in one day and not realize. Because they could be in several things at once as well as food. But they also said to switch to the am instead of pm, if that is when someone normally takes them, and try that first before dropping anything because the other stuff is good for you. Who knows?

He couldn't find anything specific wrong but everything magically worked correctly after he touched it. Five hours later it's not working again. One ceiling fan isn't working, and while I've not tried I bet the other stuff stopped too. THe a/c has also stopped. I'm so tired and frustrated and mom is the same plus her cough is back, probably between the heat/humidity and the stress. I had such hope.

Called the electrician back yesterday morning. He said to call the electric company because he was fairly sure it was something outside and he would try to get to our house around noon. Called the electric company, mom making sure they knew how old she was and she said she had a little coughing fit while she was on the phone with the woman (I had gone out to get cough medicine for her) and mom said the lady was really worried about her. She said someone would come. A man called and asked if the electrician was still at the house so mom told them the story and that he would be at the house around noon. We thought that they wanted the electrician to be there so we thought they'd not come until noonish.. We were both sitting at a table by the door (house only has one door in it and it's in the back) waiting for someone to come. Heard vehicles but there are construction people all over the place down here so I thought nothing of it and just before noon we get an automated call asking if our lights were working. Confused us and we never replied. About 5 minutes later I realized it likely meant someone had been here and done something, so I tried the garbage disposal and it worked, and then I tried the a/c and it worked and so it seems everything was working. When the electrician came he looked to try and see what they did. Still not sure what they did but so far it is all still working (knock wood ). I slept for 8 1/2 hours which is a rare thing for me on my best nights these days. Mom too slept pretty well and managed to not cough a lot, waking up only once to take more cough medicine.

So there is my unnecessarily long story. lol Fingers crossed it all continues to work.

Not unnecessarily long! So happy you have it fixed. I HATE not having power or only partial power. Woohoo! OMG you really slept. I think the only time I ever slept that long was when I was sedated. Glad your Mom is better too. Your house only has one door? Is that just how they used to build them in that area or is there some other reason?

Yeah I did really sleep. About 4 to 5 hours is my norm lately, sadly, and 7 would be a lot. So over 8 was really some sleep. It's a little ranch house and before it got lifted because of flooding the door was on the side of house as you look at it from the street. All the ranches in the neighborhood were built the same. When my parents decided to lift the house they decided to keep the basic layout of the house with some changes which put a room where the door was and moved the door to the back of the house facing the lagoon. It is super confusing for people now since with all the new builds and rebuilds all the doors are in front or still on the side. My mom wanted another door but the city wouldn't let her have even the smallest walkway/deck in the front because of the easement. We talked about putting on in the side but never got around to it. I feel like if we were doing it now they would insist on two doors.

oh, I'm sure two doors are code now. You have to have at least two ways out of a house for safety, in case of a fire or something. But that must be a pretty view with a lagoon out back. It's a shame they wouldn't let her have a deck or at least a walkway.

so glad it is fixed. I liked the story. I love sleep. I only sleep 9 to 10 hours a night.

Hubby has qualified for the kidney transplant so if you don't hear from me you'll know I'm super busy with all of this.

Good afternoon # ksrs Agent had her little boy yesterday. He had some breathing issues and was sent to children's hospital. She was doing well enough after several hours that they discharged her and she said she got some rest and then was headed over to be with her husband and son. There has been no update today but hopefully no news is good news and they are just being together and she is getting more rest. She posted a pic in discord and he looks beautiful, if anyone wants to pop into discord to see. Will update y'all as I get updated.

Working on new games for the KS forum area. Saw two plays last week. A brilliant staging of Taming of the Shrew and a funny play called Suite Surrender. Tired.

Congratulations! That's wonderful! Yay! Hope he's better now. Those plays sound like fun. I would love to go sometime.

Agent and her husband and son, Farren, are home together. And now her mom is there to help out for awhile so at least she and Steve can fit in some rest. Yay!
