OMG I missed something. I remember you said you had been dizzy - I just went through a year of that and finally it's gone, at least for now. I had the same thing, positional vertigo. But I don't remember you talking about broken ribs! What happened? And you said strokes, plural? Did you have another one recently or several together? I have TIA's so a full blown stroke is always possible, maybe even likely. So you live in Boston? Mass General is reputed to be one of the top hospitals in the nation. If you had to go, that one is awesome. Never heard of a visiting nurse though. But that is grand too.

I loved Solo and wish I could see Macbeth too! So neat you get to see the plays and your family enjoys them too. I've only seen a few. Brigadoon with Howard Hesseman playing the Van Johnson part in the round with a dinner theatre many years ago. He was hysterical. Mame by a small local company that did very well; a few others I can't remember right now. Wanted to see Cats but never got to until they released the film of the play. Really good.

Sorry I wasn't clear. On May 5th I broke two ribs and spent one night at Mass. General for observation. And they did send the visiting nurse for a month. Then the most recent event of being dizzy made my dr send the visiting nurse back. Apparently I have had several strokes but not the kind my father had, he had the trans ischemic attacks or mini strokes. I was just lucky that they were not as serious as they could have been.

Yes, I live in East Boston near the Airport. Mass General is the best hospital in New England I'm sure and truly amazing. Being a senior gives me access to a lot of home care covered by insurance but with a time frame. This will probably last longer as my condition is here to stay I guess. They also have a program called Boston Senior Home Care that sends out meals on wheels and a person to come once a week to help with housework. They do have other services as well.

I have a similar problem. I wasn't dizzy but passed out in daughters front yard last October. shortly after the doc put me in hospital and I had a quadruple bypass. ugh. I'm so glad God took care of me and He always will. My time wasn't up as people say because God still has work for me to do.
We have what they call Home health care but only for a short period of time and they don't do housework at all. I know my husband would have appreciated that! lol

Have the same thought - that God still has work for me to do. Since I live by myself and do not have kids I was very lucky that I called my dr regarding the dizziness. To be honest she has been trying to get me on BP and Cholesterol meds for the past 8 years. She even came to see me in the hospital, love her to pieces.

The worst is this dizziness, makes it hard to be on the computer and I love Subeta.

I don't have the dizziness so I don't know what that's like. But I will continue to pray for you. Stay safe, I gotta go for today.

Ah yes, I have home health care, and if I needed a nurse to do anything, I could get one for so many hours a week with my dr's approval. I have home attendant services where they come and cook meals and do housework, etc, and that's what I really needed.

Thank you, but better not quite as now I have a headache 24/7 from the blood pressure pills. Yes. Had been out to get a haircut and went into the bathroom thinking about what I wanted to do in the coming warm and not hot weather while drying my hands on a towel. As I turned to go I didn't notice the floor bath mat had twisted up on my sneaker and down I went with my right side and landed on the outside of my bathtub. Takes talent! Visiting nurse is coming today but they only stay long enough to check vitals and ask pertinent questions. Hope they stop coming soon. But I do have home services once a week to help with laundry and household chores, maybe with cooking now as that would be helpful.

The free steak dinner was a bust. It was very tough. And the salad was a bowl of lettuce with to cherry tomatoes in it. Oh well, it was free lol

My dr's nurse just called and I finally had the chance to tell her about the constant headache from the blood pressure meds, at least I can take Advil for it as I am not on a blood thinner. Sorry to read about how poor the free steak dinner was, probably the only way they could get rid of it.

glad you got to take to the nurse but they should check your bp to see if it's falling to low after taking the med.
It could be to strong for you and they might have to lower the milligrams. I'm just guessing though. I've been through it and so has hubby. Won't hurt to ask I guess.

Get to see my doctor on Wednesday so I will inform her that I refuse to take this bp med as it makes me dizzy and this adds to the vertigo. I truly hate this med and it is not recommended for seniors soooo.

wow, if it's not intended for seniors why would they prescribe it for you? I'll just never understand some of the stuff doctors do lol.

This was prescribed by a hospital doctor and not mine - I have a lot of questions for my doctor as I hate this med.

Drive back wasn't too bad. About 7 hours of nice weather and 2 hours of rain. A little bit of heavy rain that slowed me down but the rest was just rain. Was on track to get home faster than usual (only made 2 stops and was keeping a pretty quick speed) but there was an accident just after getting into Ohio that set us back 30 minutes which overall isn't too bad since last fall when we drove home several accidents set us back almost 2 hours in getting home.

Brought pizza back from NJ for dinner which we had after unloading the car and both mom and I taking showers. Didn't get sleepy tired for awhile and in spite of it being too warm in my room, once I fell asleep, I fell asleep. Got nearly 8 hours which is a rare thing.

Yeah, not feeling the whole Neugarten thing at all. I mean the new food is fine though I'll likely put off buying most of it until next year 'cause I'm a little hard strapped for sP atm and already have tons of stuff not yet fed to my gourmand pet because I just keep forgetting to do it and it takes a stupid time for them to get hungry again. There are no useful wears which is what I want most in all things. I'll probably buy the stickers and the book but otherwise it isn't any better than alegarten and at least alegarten had a sort of theme. Vegan hardly seems a theme to me. blah

Agree with you about Neugarten, except the only thing I bought was the book - Vegan holds no interest.
