Crit hits based on speed say the text "you scored a crit hit, doubling your damage!" Crit hits from weapons modded with critical strike tears don't show that message, you just do more damage. Crit strike activation is different from speed stat crit strike so it's possible to do quadruple damage if both happen at the same time. For example, I know my pet can do 1,700 damage, give or take, when an opponent is frozen with certain weapons. Double damage he would do 3,400 damage with the same weapons. However, I have seen him do over 6k damage because he scored a critical hit while my crit strike activated.
Welp my t6 pet beat level 20 today but I don't know that he can beat The Gatekeeper and I have to leave for work in 20 minutes so I probably won't get a chance to try tonight before reset. At least I got +5 AP, a few decent scrolls crafted, and t6 today so I guess good progress for now.
I've been testing different weapons and spells and I can see what you mean. Honestly before I added the Forj shield I didn't have a defense item in my set I used 2 weapons and then I had a bunch of healers and Divine Denizen as my defense on my turns. I always feel like I'm turtling when I use the shield because I'm doing so little damage with only 1 weapon but I still don't have enough defense scrolls/AP in order to just straight out use 2 weapons on a hard hitting opponent yet.
That's very good! Some days my T7 struggles to get to level 21 (thanks to the hustler's bs) and I'll fight with my main pet instead for a level.
The turtling approach used to be big a few years ago but it makes battling very slow so healing and bashing strategies are usually favored over high defense tactics.
I'd say a very basic default scroll set is to have a few defensive scrolls, like cobalt eternal and sancturia exodin, and an infinite use scroll that does a little bit of everything (attack, def, heal). After that you can start to add things like healing scrolls, freezing scrolls and strong attacking scrolls as you start to gain more AP. Even if you can't equip everything right away, I would store a little bit of each type of scroll you need in your scroll library and then adjust your set accordingly.
[edit] Aaaaand my second battle pet officially hit T8 today! :D
spent 30k on an Oracle item...and the Oracle screws me over. Also Quentin only gave me 1 amulet today. These NPCs are hating on me.
Congrats on hitting T8 <3
Well I got that Skeleton guy and I just cheesed him by stealing his weapon, using pquill and then a knocker, + reborn wand + divine denizen to outheal his damage since he couldn't do much to me anymore. Idk who else shows up for level 20s yet but it was easy only because I cheesed my level 20 challenger.
And you know it's actually sad to hear. Not because I like long battles or wish turtling was the best strategy but because after maining a healer in MMOs for the last few years...that's the general consensus q-q who wants to have defense or dodge stuff when they can do tons of damage and get healed through it.
I've been working on scrolls since we talked and picked up a Sancturia Exodin, Typhoon of Valor, and 2 Perilous Whirlpools and I obviously still have my Cobalt Eternal and my Divine Denizen to back me up. I'm still working on the Terracotta one but I'm trying to restock some of the River Mud for it because otherwise it's like 16-24mil just for the amount of those I need. I'm just using Soothing Currents if I need a heal instead which heals 8% instead of 10% and doesn't have anything else cool along with it but it's my poor man's healing scroll until I pick up my pieces from Spells Galore.
Yay for reaching T8. Yahoo!
Congrats on on getting your BQs done. Your pet will grow in leaps and bounds. Good luck on your scroll set that you are working on. Gotta start somewhere.

terrafirma is definitely the hardest level 20 challenger that pops up. He's giving me a hard time getting to 5 wins, mostly because I can't use OHS or malerias ss.
You still want to have a defense, but the defense becomes more blocking a lot of two or three icons instead of blocking a little of everything.
nice! I think you mean terra focujin? I used that one for a short time, but never really found it worth it. I preferred to use aftershocks or skelly scroll.
I think my goal for today is going to be 50 stat points on Painkillers with no stat boosters...let's see how bad I fail.
I'm sure I'll have plenty of days where I can't beat level 20 until my pet gets a lot more stats under his belt. I'm still very inconsistent on the few very hard challengers I can beat or well I think it's the very hard tier I can never remember all the tiers in order and where they all are.
Well probably because the closer to cap you are the more permanent your stuff is so it's easier to have a bigger variety of weapons that are case specific since you won't outgrow them. Also because you can use those more than a few times a battle.
Yeeeaah that one. The one you recommended to me and is now trying to tell me it isn't worth it q-q breaking my heart here Wesker.
tyty but that was yesterday's. I haven't started today's yet. and thanks for the encouragement as well. I know there are a lot of better scrolls I can just buy but it seems to me that those ones I'd really like to try and beat the challenger to earn them myself.
Another way to gain stats is buy buying from the battle shop when you have a large stash of tokens or trade down your tokens. I've done that many times. Winning scrolls from challengers are the only way to get the better scrolls. MHO.
I'm going to try to do my BQs for today.

wait what stat boosters are in the battle shop? And I was on Hiatus since around when they announced t13 and the reset so I have pretty much every challenger I've unlocked and can beat 10x on my t6 pet in order to get the exp I need for 50 stat points + BQs + Training Center so I think I can do that.
And yeah I'll probably end up buying a few scrolls because I know people really seem to like the Spider's drops and they got moved to achievement only which means I shouldn't be able to get multiples, and I'm sure there are other achievement cases like that, but I'd like to earn my scrolls. I don't even have enough AP to equip that many so no reason to buy them all >_<
Impenetrable Force Potion Potion of Fleetness Spiraling Ascension Potion Limitless Endurance Potion Surging Power Potion These are 200 battle tokens each, that gives you 1 increase in stats of your choice. I've been known to downgrade my upper tokens to gets easy tokens to buy stat boosters. Especially if you have the components tucked away in your fault to make the helmet and mecha.

hmm I might look into getting a few of those then but I don't have my hemlet or mecha pieces from lower levels atm >_< or if I do idk where they are D:
and I'm already at 12k+ battle exp up from 588 before my BQs (each stat costs me 750 atm) so I think I should be able to get what I need for 50 stats. I've only done up to Vulty on the normal challengers atm. I also realized I'm getting all the free t1-3 eggs from doing this which is super good because I have a t3 pet that I can give them all to.
Unfortunately i don't have the sp for the hook swords, energized mecha, forj scroll or skelly scroll :(
I made the helmet, cost me 109,000sp :) Much better than 83k! I've also bought Aftershocks so i'll see how i get on :)
I hope you enjoy your purchase! I can’t wait to see what you do with it. Sword of the Seven Seas
Wheeeeeee been saving for that since they made the antique shop. Wonder how small I can go with slapping around Prodigy now.
: If you need the Hook Sword I can lend you. I might need it back tomorrow if I run into Crithbolcan, but it's only if I run into it.
You Won! You have defeated Nacho Muerte 5 times! Nacho Muerte drops: Signed Nacho Poster Nacho Mewte Nacho Muerte: Fightography You earned 6890 sP for beating Nacho Muerte! Reil earned 3396 EXP Points!
That's 21 with 5. Most of the way through getting all my Tier 13s and 12s to 10 wins. Then on to the dummies.
Wow, congratulations on the sword :D
Best of luck :D
Thank you!
As long as you keep doing battle quests, your pet will grow in no time. 50 stats without booster is a hefty task. Up to level 20 in BQs will get you around 13 stats, depending on which stats you choose to put your experience in.
I'm sorry, let me rephrase what I said and put a little more context behind it. When I was using terra focujin, my pet was T11 with over 100 AP to use. I was at the stage where I needed an infinite use scroll that not only healed, but provided some block and a bigger attack as well and I had way more than enough AP for different scroll. As you are looking for low AP scrolls, this one is definitely a good fit for you and is something your pet hasn't outgrown yet. I'm not 100% sure at what tier or which challengers it will not be as useful, but definitely by T11 there were better scrolls to use as healing alone is not enough.
The mecha you can make from the battle shop with impossible tokens. Do you have 100 of those saved up? The forj scroll is won from the forj, erupting. I think you can definitely beat her with your stats. All you need is the blessed trident and unstable syringe modded with parched baguettes and maybe a couple blessed armor in case she steals. You can also bring in a prodigy staff as a backup in case she steals. As for skelly scroll, that is harder to find but you can use something like the aftershocks scroll instead that blocks more of the icons he deals.
I actually just came back from a hiatus and hadn't fought all of the challengers since they got reset a couple years back. I just finished the dust bunny. I probably have 15-20 more opponents I can beat 5-10 times each and since it costs me 750 a stat (STR/DEF/SPD) I think I only need like 37k to hit 50 stats? 75k/2. I had 588 battle exp when I wrote that post saying I was going for 50 stats I only chose such a high goal because I knew I had a lot easy to gain XP if I grinded.
I see what you mean. I understand T11 is supposed to be really far away from me but looking at the numbers T11 just doesn't feel far away I guess. So it just seemed like "oh yeah you'll outgrow it pretty soon". But I definitely am a long way from 100 AP and a long way from T11. Baby steps I guess.
Ohhh so you will definitely rack up some major experience from that. Have fun! When they had the black friday sale, I went nuts and unlocked a bunch of challengers I missed when they were first released because I didn't have CSC then. My hand started to cramp from all the clicking.
I promise I'm not trying to lead you astray. I really do think it is one of the better options for your situation. I'm not sure how much ingredients are going for now, but it's always cheaper to make than buy in shops. I think at the point I sold mine for 25 mil, the ingredients were going for around 18 mil to make it so there's definitely a demand for the scroll at the point you are ready to sell it to make room for something else.
T11 can be far depending on how much time and money you invest in training. Minimum overall stats for T11 is 8,000 versus 2,600 overall at T6. My pet was at T7 for years because I would forget to train him and didn't really understand how battle quests worked when it first was introduced and rarely did them. I was also pissed that I couldn't use 80% of my weapons because most of my weapons were T9+ at the time the tier system was introduced. I finally bit the bullet though and invested in hundreds of boosters and saved up around 1.5 million experience and boosted from T7 to T10 and then from T10 to T11. It's been around 2.5 years that I've been serious about battling to get this far.
