Glad I decided to activate my loyalty 3 month GA Quentin gave me an extra 2 amulets in the last 5 quests c: and she also gave me Whale Fat for one of my scrolls.
I guess that makes a lot of sense. All of my pets are still lowbies and I feel like their weapons don't block a lot but I think at this point I just pick the weapons with the icons the opponent blocks least over defense when I can. I'm working on intel but since I don't have any of the good scrolls yet I'm just working on it slowly. I think my main is on the "very hard" tier of battle opponents and can beat Feli bot and Slavam and is always like 1-2 turns away from killing Jacques before he blasts me. I haven't fought them out of BQs since I've come back though so I don't know about the other ones off the top of my head >_< I'm starting to get my 10 wins on all the opponents again (I wasn't really active after they reset) but I started with my CS opponents first.
Keep up with your BQs everyday and it will add up over time :D Cobalt Eternal and Fatal Fire Scrolls are pretty basic, but they helped me out a lot. A lot of people recommend Perilous Whirlpool Scrolls, too. Unfortunately, part of battling is trying to figure out how best to maximize what you can do with what little AP you have, LOL.
I'm trying to, I just started my questing for the day though. I actually have a Cobalt Eternal and I made a Typhoon of Valor scroll yesterday. I'm still trying to restock a few more items for Perilous Whirlpool, Sancturia Exodin, and Terra Focujin scrolls as I was recommended gathering a few of them. I'm probably going to try and grind the Fatal Fire scroll myself if I hit a high enough level by the time I get my other scrolls. If they didn't change the stats in each tier when they messed with the cap I'm 4 levels from the stat range for T6 in looks like (I might be able to hit that today with my battle exp). If I find I really need them before that though I don't mind buying them but I already have the challenger unlocked so I might as well try to earn it myself.
THANK YOU so much for your reply and offer of loan :) I could buy one of those weapons, which would be best Volatile Energized Mecha or Intricate Energized Helmet? Also which scroll is the better one to buy first?
On a side note...I'm trying to get Love Bug, could you please bite me? :)

Top pet AP: 264 (T13) Intel: 4228 Lowest pet AP: 35 (T1) Intel: 567
I try to get a pet's AP to 50+ ASAP. Many cheap books available -- check out what my littles have read if you need ideas. ;)
(always subject to change -- but think how much easier your battles would be if you could equip these beauties)
Sancturia Exodin Cost: 8 AP
Cobalt Eternal (x2) Cost: 8 AP (16 total)
Fatal Fire Cost: 10 AP
Gift of the Forj Cost: 15 AP
Lucky Cost: 19 AP
Gale Force (x3) Cost: 16 AP (48 total)
Psycho Smasher (x2) Cost: 16 AP (32 total)
Shriek of Despair (x6) Cost: 15 AP (90 total)
Gelaspell Cost: 18 AP
Aftershocks Cost: 15 AP
I don't advise buying them as they are able to be made via the components in the Battle Shop, which will save you a lot of sP that you can use toward something else! If you can make one with components, I would choose the Energized Helmet. If you don't have enough battle tokens to make them right now, use a different 100% freezer like Gorgun (should be affordable for you in the Battle Shop) and keep the Rainbow Vortex in your set.
I would recommend buying Aftershocks first :D
And I'm sorry, but I can't seem to bite for anything else at the moment. My Clusterflux just reached stage six and I can only bite for that strain until tomorrow :( Have you posted here [topic not found]?
seeing all the spells that were once beat X times and then moved to an achievement prize make me feel like kicking my past self for being so lazy with training back then :<
that's still a lot of scrolls though I guess that'll be an eventually thing. I assume this year I'll be able to get my AP up a lot because I've missed years of event shop books and all of the books that have come out in main shops on top of forum point and quest point etc books. I have to still have a good amount of cheap books left.
My default set is Ocean Currents, Aftershocks, Assassin, Gelaspell, Unstable Fairy, Shriek of Despair (x4), Psycho Smasher, Gale Force, Gift of the Forj, Lucky, Morosbane, The Void, Perilous Whirlpool (x4)
I must have become partial to freezing scrolls at some point because I don't really use defensive scrolls anymore 😛 I'd like more Shrieks, but I'm waiting to see if the price goes down again.
Looks like you and I think a lot alike! :) I suspect our scroll libraries are pretty similar!
To be fair, I think most battlers will have very similar armories/libraries. We all strive for the best, which seem to be a select few items 😛
Welp I went to go spend my battle xp and 1 point in my pet bumped up tiers.

I guess that means it's new weapon time o/ I'm sure I have some decent T6 weapons somewhere around my armory.
Thank you so so much for the help! I never paid much attention to how to do anything in the BD so I'm trying to learn haha.
I went ahead and got an Aftershocks Scroll and switched out Swash for PQ. I need to do my BQs more often and boost my speed, I appreciate that tip a lot! I forget that speed is what determines if they can give you a critical hit.
I mean, I know why they made the change but damned if it didn't come super inconveniently haha.
Wait is speed not a meh stat anymore? I thought you needed so much speed that it wasn't considered worth it normally >_<
: Speed determines whether you crit hit your opponents (unless you've got the critical strike modification crystal slotted to your weapon, of course) or get crit hit yourself. Some very good weapons and scrolls scale with speed, so you only have access to their full potential if you have the speed that they require (e.g. Sierrac Basal Ice Flail, Rapier of Error, Unstable Snow Fairy Scroll). However my first sentence is an oversimplification. There is a way in which both defence and speed work to determine crit hit that I don't know yet. A great example would be Slaglord, whom you might bump into at BQ L25 even if you haven't bought the Slaglord Signet. His stats are as follows: Defence: 6,000 Speed: 10
Technically any lightly trained pets should outspeed him, but his defence is so high that not any pet with over 10 Speed can crit hit him. That's why many battlers still invest into defence and health at the expense of speed. To do so also means to sacrifice full use of good speed-based weapons and scrolls, of course.
okay I guess that makes sense. I knew it was used for critical hits/defense but before there was a t13 and all the battle opponents reset I always remember a lot of veterans were saying that speed wasn't worth it because you needed such a high speed for it to matter on some of the stronger opponents that you were giving up a lot of defense in order to outspeed most of them. When I eventually get high enough that point distribution matters I'll probably forgo what is most optimal for what fits their characters but I do remember a lot of talk about Speed being a good stat in theory but just sub-optimal in most case scenarios.
I used trident, ornamented hook swords, energized helmet, reviver of the lion, pquill, soma tablets, rblaster and energized mecha to defeat nacho. I equipped all the freezing scrolls I could, one gift of the forj scroll and skelly scroll for infinite use. My strategy was to freeze, then blast weapons, then chain freeze to get as many free hits as possible. My weapons were modded with parched to prevent freezing and crit strike to get crit hits on him. Unstable fairy scroll is great for him. When he forced me to use one weapon was when I used ornamented hook swords with skelly scroll. The aftershocks scroll is great as well, it just won't heal as much.
I stopped including the rainbow vortex in my main set once I could continuously beat crawbeast by high T11/low T12. You get to a point where it's more beneficial to equip multiple healers, weapons, blasters or bombs instead of a full blocker. By then your AP is also high enough where you can equip full blocking scrolls instead of waste a weapon slot.
Defense goes more together with health than it does with speed. Speed compliments strength; the higher the strength the more you damage from your crit hit. The reason a T6 can't just crit hit slaglod is his defense and potential heal is greater than the strength of the pet, even at double the damage.
Remember, damage dealt and damage taken is different from strength and defense.
: Nah I wasn't trying to bundle defence and speed together :D I was just trying to make a point out there that even if a pet's speed is higher than that of an opponent, in rare cases such as Slaglord it wouldn't automatically let the pet crit hit the opponent in question. But of course, cases like those are rare. I don't watch the battle text closely unless it's an opponent stronger than I am so I never actually noticed whether I crit hit Slaglord in the past, but I'll try him again with my battle babies to see if I can actually crit hit him without using the crit strike mod.
Crit hit just means double damage. Your pet can still do double the damage it normally does, but it still wouldn't be enough to break his defense. If your speed is higher than your opponent's then you can crit hit, regardless of tier or strength. Whether or not it is effective depends on strength. Crit hit mods allow your pet to crit hit even if their speed is lower than an opponent's. I have noticed that there is no battle text when this happens. You just see your pet did double damage.
