Nothing special really. I try to get as many chain freezes as possible while dishing out as much damage as I can. I have weapons heavily crit modded just for boss fight usage. Little parch/singed usage but I do mod those since it could be handy. Then, try to stay alive as long as possible. XD

Nice!!! Need to finish battling the challengers that I want to cap now with my 5 remaining 7s after getting sidetracked earlier this month. So, I can finally get to my 11+ tier pets. Waiting for my 6 and 5s to be a bit better stated before working with them.

Finally BQ's done for today. A good day because I completed Level 23. It took me a few hours to beat The Gate Keeper three times for Levels 21, 22 and 23. Definitely my current most frustrating challenger. :-)

- good job finishing yesterday's Battle Quests. It's much harder when you're tired. Hope you are getting lots of rest so you will have an easier time tackling today's BQ challengers.

- I took some notes while fighting The Gate Keeper as far as parched tears and blessing activations. I just listed what I did/how many tears each turn/and if a blessing activated. I'll have to do a little math later to see what it means. I did find out that I find it too frustrating (and too slow) to both take data and actually try to win the battle (I don't think I'd mind just taking data if I wasn't trying to win and move on.) so I only recorded 11 attempts. I don't think speed matters for that. testing.

I am assuming that you can't activate a blessing that will already be active the next turn (i.e. you can activate a parched blessing on the 5th turn of a current parched blessing, which will then start on the 6th turn (when the first blessing would go away), but you can't activate it on the 4th turn which would, in essence, extend the original blessing by only 4 turns. I hope I made that clear.). If that is true, then it doesn't actually matter how many tears were on weapons used for the first four turns that a parched blessing is active. (That will also make some of my recording easier next time I try it. :-) )

The other discussion was whether defense potiential affects critical hits. Don't know where the original post was, but I quoted here Start of Discussion - Page 204

I haven't done anything about doing that testing yet. He only mentions recording critical hits, but I think it might be useful to also record the amount of damage done (since there is sometimes really big damage done without a critical hit).

If you have time and are interested, data for either of those would be welcome. But don't worry if you are busy, or if you don't have any interest in the results. It's mostly just curiosity - not anything really important for now.

Have I mentioned today how frustrating The Gate Keeper is? :-) The last time he was this hard to beat, he sold me a Vengeful Kiyo Plushie at BHH right after one battle. I still don't know if he was trying to apologize for killing me, or trying to intimidate me with that plushie. :-)

The way I understand the parched blessing is that it can be "reset" if activated while you already have a blessing active. So if you are on the second turn of the blessing and it activates again, the timer would "reset" and start counting again on your next turn. So instead of your third turn with the blessing, it would go back to the first turn. Does that make sense the way I said it?

- it does, that's what I was calling "extending" - a new activation on the second turn would result in seven turns of blessing.. But I was only seeing multiples of fives (of course, I only recorded a few battles). I'll have to start paying more attention to that as I'm battling in general. Thank you.

I know he'll get easier. Then some other challenger will take his place. :-) At least that's what I gather from reading this thread. You always have that one challenger (or a couple of them) that make you work waay too hard. But it's soooo nice when you finally can put them in their place regularly. :-)

There are some challengers I never tire of beating! ;) Reminds me, I still have to try para RB (doubt I will get very far since I have no capped pets) and I still need 5 on the brat. Then on to the next 20 pets... lol

EDIT: It's been like 2 hours and my forum title STILL hasn't changed... Are they broken?

Hmmm - I rarely use forum titles.. Just changed mine to "is a SUPER USER" from none. Let's see if it actually changes for me.

It should change in the old posts too. I see my title FINALLY changed -- it only took 2-3 hours... lol

- wow! 2 - 3 hours is a long time to wait for a title change to happen, but at least now you know it's working. Guess I'll change my title back to none. (I wonder whether it will briefly change 2 or 3 hours from now and then change back :-) )

I'm already seeing no title for you, but I think it's a cache issue. The forum cache for things like titles and signatures seems to take forever to cycle out. But if you clear your browser cache manually, that might help. I'm not sure though.

- the reason you are seeing no title for me is that's where I started. I changed it to the SUPER USER title to see whether anything happened and then changed it back to none when posted that her title had finally showed up. So I was just wondering if my title will eventually change for a bit and then change back again. (Just my computer testing background plus my curiosity showing. :-) )
