Oh yeah you can definitely get all 10 wins, but it will be long battles. The scientist is freeze happy so make sure you mod with parched. Her labcoat blessing also prevents freezing so you will probably only get a chance to freeze her first turn. I was able to beat her using the same strategy I used for the 8-headed hydra. You want to freeze her first turn and then blast on the second turn. The best things to blast are either her regenerating skin that can heal her for ridic amounts or labcoat that protects her from freezing. Third turn you will want to use the mecha + cronus + cobalt eternal or void scroll to boost and get some curse damage/physical block. Every other turn was OHS + cronus.

Nice job finishing up battle quests! Do you have the unstable fairy scroll? That blocks ice as well. Ocean currents also blocks a little bit of ice. Other than that my scroll set for ice fairy is cobalt eternal scrolls, typhoon of valor, psycho smasher (for the ice block), gotf and some fatal fires. The only scrolls I really use now are the typhoon of valors if I want to blast or use the mecha one turn and OC scroll, but I used to use the others all the time when I struggled to beat her.

Oranos earned 10,000 sP for their work today! Good job! This brings Oranos's total earnings to 2,415,675 sP. BONUS! Your strength has increased by 1 point!

not yet! Hopefully I'll get it when she returns in Luminaire (this is the first time I've ever beaten her!) And thanks for the tips, will take them into consideration :D

Alas, it's past 2 AM... I should go to sleep now, since tomorrow I have to work on more translations, since I didn't do anything today, whoops :P TTYL ^_^

Wow Quentin has been absolutely cruel. Not a single amulet today. Training and stat gaining will be an uphill climb... but that is fine. Just wish the NPC's would be more kind lol.

Battle Quests done for today. An ordinary day - completed Level 20.

- no I don't have RotL (oh no - now I'm talking in battle acronym gibberish like the rest of you! :-) ) but it's okay because I prefer to fight until the bitter end and then after BQs I do quests to earn back any sP spent on healing. That works for me right now because it's only the last few quests where I ever get killed. I seem to be at the point where, except for an occasional critical hit by the Hustler. I am okay through Level 19/20. Then there are a couple challengers (like The Gate Keeper) where I have to work and often battle several times before winning, and a bunch I'm not ready for so just don't start. Once Tos gets to where she has to fight more battles to advance BQ level, I might rethink that. I did manage to spend quite a lot on healing the other day when I fought The Gate Keeper about a million times to get two wins (but then I also got to my highest ever level in BQs that day, so it was well worth it!) but for now my usual healing cost is very nominal.

As far as AP goes, I'm wondering whether what you're seeing is simply a difference between buying intelligence points at the Mystic Spindle Shop and using boosters to raise intelligence. My guess is that when you buy points at the MS shop, they are immediately added to that pet (which makes sense since the cost is based on a specific pet and their current stats) - the same as when you earn an intelligence point from a pet's job. But when you use boosters, like for Hanson, then the rule has always been that you don't gain any AP points until at least one book has been read after boosting. Does that match what you are experiencing? - just my guess but you were interested as well.

Strangely - Mystic Spindles is how I wound up on Subeta in the first place. The Tower of Hanoi (what MS is based on) is a standard math puzzle - something our family often did together. And then a family member discovered the old Mystic Spindle game (it has been much expanded/improved since then) on Subeta and got all excited and wanted me to get on the site to try it. At the time MS was one of only a couple of games here. I got on - tried the game - found some other good things about Subeta - and stayed. So yay for Mystic Spindles. It is mostly just tedious, although I admit I can get lost in some of the trickier versions.

Hurray! You are totally awesome. I knew you could beat Crithbolcan. Congratulations on getting those 5 wins and earning a well deserved Aftershocks Scroll for your persistence and all that hard work. And I see you are getting wins on The Mad Scientist as well. Plus finishing Level 30 Battle Quests two days in a row! You are growing by leaps and bounds! Keep up the great work. Hope you have a good night.

You can test it out with scrolls like shriek
(laughing again) Once again I fail the pre-requirements to perform a simple battle test! :-) I don't own any of those scrolls right now! :-) For what it's worth, I had 3 parched tears on both my healer and the core and 2 on the Flayed Breastplate, so was using 5 or 6 each turn but wasn't getting many blessing activations against The Gate Keeper. With most other opponents I am seeing frequent Parched Blessings even if I use only my healer (just the 3 tear crystals). Haven't taken any actual data, so I'll have to start making some notes. But the discrepancy seemed large to me which is why I started wondering in the first place. (Of course it could be just my famous "random number generator curse" where I tend to get the short end of most things random - my bad luck rolling dice is legendary with friends/family :-) Against The Gate Keeper, I really need that blessing, so I can't activate it. When I don't need it, I have no trouble activating it. Personal random curse at work again. :-) )

Sounds like you have big plans for your trip. Hope you enjoy Disney CA which is much smaller than Disney FL, but I hear good things about the California Adventure. I'll be interested in hearing your comparisons when you return. Nice to have aunts near the park in FL. I've never been to Harry Potter World, but that would be my first choice if I were going today. (I'm not a big Disney fan. I've loved the parks themselves, but once got a too close look at the corporate attitude and haven't been a fan since.) There are so many wonderful things to do in Los Angeles and San Diego - I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time with the hardest part being choosing what to do next! :-)

Oooh maybe you're right. When I've reached the MS goal for Nanielle I'll use some intel boosters on her and let you know the result.

I think it might have been the case in the past? Or perhaps it's implemented somewhere else and you happened to remember it :D Anyway the BC is complicated and I'm still making plunder every once in a while, so we're in the same boat :D

Btw, if you want to beat the Mad Scientist, your set is good. She does lots of icons but her big hitters deal lots of light, so Malhuili will come to your rescue.

At this stage we tend to have to tailor our set to our opponents, but for BQs I think you can get by with other cheaper alternatives, depending on your stats. If you plan on saving for longer before the splurge, I believe there will be options that you can use in the meantime in the BQs for most opponents.

Thank you so much for the presents XD Have you bought the OHS? Actually many battlers here would recommend getting the Natasha first (and I tend to agree) but since my build is different than yours, I hope whatever your purchase is it will serve you well in battle.

the trick came up with this genius method (original thread here). I happened to stumble over that thread where he said he used it for opponents beyond his range when he was still a T11 (I assume). I applied it to Cinthi and it worked like a charm!

I'll call it the Emo Spork trick. The idea is to keep an Emo Spork in my set, not for me to use, since it is a single-use item, but for my opponent to steal. When they steal and use it on me, they will be penalised with 99% of their health. All I have to do is to get rid of all BoNAs and replace them with parch or crit mods, and keep myself alive and them below 99% health until they steal the spork. After they steal it, I'll use full blocks or double heal. If they chance to use the spork in the next 3 turns when I've got my shield / heal up, they'll kill themselves XD. I'll need to be extra careful not to click on the spork though. If the enemy steals and uses it, it will still remain in my account, so it works wonderfully for opponents that steal, the likes of General Error, Flamagia, Chase, Gelatin Wizard, Devora, Dick Bear, Cinthilocks and Careaper etc.

It's not as satisfying as hitting your opponents and watch their health go down until you claim victory, and it's random and you'll take a bunch of losses while waiting for this trick to work, so many might not be a fan. Still I was desperate and I had lost 300-ish times to that brat already, so tbh using this method still gave me lots of satisfaction, ha.

I figure I'll try this on dick bear some time in the future when I'm stronger than now, especially if the reset indeed will happen and I'm desperate for last-minute loot and EXP I otherwise can't earn via conventional battling.

I don't remember if you mentioned it, but have you tried beating Tatuvichwa yet for the Triple Threat scroll? That has some ice blocking in it, and I actually found that opponent to be easier for me than Crithbolcan.

I managed to beat her a couple of times, and I'll probably try again this weekend.

And yeah, I'll likely be doing mostly BQs for a while then while I save up, but I'll keep trying the opponents I've gotten a couple of wins on every weekend or so to see if I can get lucky with a few more wins. :)

Morning! I'll be doing some work today, and not much battling :P

yeah I do remember that for intel, when boosting reading a book every 16 points gave you the Intel point, or something of the sort.

you're welcome! I haven't bought it yet :P I should probably wait and save a bit and try to get both - OHS and Natasha? Lol what is happening to me?

I haven't tried Tatu yet, but I'll give him a go next time! :D

I popped off to bed as well lol. Now I need to get ready for work x.x I'm sure by December this year you will be more than ready to take her on.

Just the parched tears or the parched baguettes? Use 5 or 6 of the baguette crystals. If you don't have any and don't of the tokens to buy any, let me know and I will send you some. The tears have only 5% chance each on them. The baguettes activate regularly for me. When I have 4 modded between two of my weapons, they can keep me protected for 20+ turns.

Ooooh yeah I know about that trick. I don't have one of those so I was never able to do it. It's so expensive and not worth it to me =x I guess if I could borrow it from someone, but it's not as satisfying when you get the win. Then again it saves a lot of aggravation xD

I know, that's why I said it's not really as rewarding as the conventional means of battling. Then I stalled at 3 wins and couldn't seem to get her down, and even my blasts were unlucky: I kept blasting the wrong things all the time, so I sort of gave in 😄

I'm saving those last 5 wins for a proper face-off though, but who knows, if the reset sneaks up upon us I might pull that trick again XD. I'm bad like that, haha.

Good luck! And good luck with the saving, I'm going to start it too from today. It'll take me a few months, or maybe the rest of the year, but I just need to keep telling myself it will be worth it in the long run ~

Thank You for bringing me back my item! To thank you, here is a reward.

Reward: 15 Point Wizard Token AND Your pet Thracian gains 4 HP! AND 2,552sP!

Ha, that's what I'm talking about. Now if only she could give me some motivation to battle with my second pet. I'm in the mood to battle but like...then I'd have to put him in the resort and rework my set and scrolls and blah I'm lazy [edit] Oh wait he's T12 my set is fine. I just need to make him a scroll set and figure out what he still needs wins on...

I will definitely let you know how they compare. It is definitely an over priced theme park (6 flags has better roller coasters and only costs $48) but you're paying for the atmosphere. Harry Potter world was amazing at universal. The butter beer was delicious.

I will say I would be completely satisfied if that happened to dick bear lol. Serves him right for taking and using my stuff.

I battle with my little T4 pets because it makes battling the easy opponents interesting again. I can't just pummel everything in one hit.

Does dick bear have a 100% heal himself? I'm reading about him on Wiki but haven't noticed it, or maybe I've just skimmed through and missed it.

So I decided to bite the bullet and play catch up with Domon and...

I don't remember ANY of these fairy-tale challengers. I guess I just bought them all on impulse or something lol

Also I feel like I have to beg yet again for a statistics page revamp. It's way too difficult to see which challengers I still have to beat, and it's only getting worse now that we get at least one new one each month.

Looking to buy this!
