I have only tried the raging sylph once with my T8 so I am still modifying my weapons and scrolls to see what works best. You definitely want to block wind since all of his weapons do some amount of wind. Next big block is physical or ice. He also does dark and water but not as much as the others so stuff like cobalt scrolls are really nice if you can block the wind.

Agreed. I don't like the scaling on the weapons either. Comet flash is the same way, which is complete garbage until 2500 defense when it becomes a mediocre dark block. Since all other dark blockers cost 1 billion+ sP, it becomes the only affordable option. Yeah I only use the pstaff as a backup in case another one of my weapons is stolen from the forj and (back when my pet was T11) flamagia. The only one I use as a staple is the flail and by the time it becomes the best it can be at 4k speed you can win MW that's infinitely the better water blocker by far. Unless you are a build that is boosting speed, I don't see the point.

I like the idea of having weapons that scale to your pet's tier so this way if you have multiple pets at different tiers battling, they can still use the weapons without you buying a ton of new weapons. It's the balance of them I don't like. There are usually better options for the tier so what's the point then in using the scaling weapon. For example, the slaglord gauntlet is really only beneficial for a T8 pet because there are not many fire and magma blockers in that tier. By tier 9 you have the bludgeon that heals and blocks more fire unless you have a uneven 1000+ defense build. You could arguably even use the pstaff that has a chance at more fire block and heals your pet. You also have shinwas ss that only heals through a blessing but blocks a lot more magma. Tier 10 offers even better options that become staple weapons to tiers above 10. It appears to me that they are supposed to be low budget items but they should at least be decent alternatives.

I see why they do it with the cash shop challenger loot.

Those non-scroll weapons are essentially capped at 250 CSC, and most of them are basically 250 CSC for like 7+ of them. So they can never be the best item in a tier or they risk crashing the economy with every release. Everything short of Tier 12-13 challenger loot needs to be pretty scarce to justify much more than 250 CSC.

I remember back when they first introduced tiers, before people complained about the cash shop weapons, I think only Trident of the Banished one and knocker scaled with tiers. Because it essentially created a weapon that was best in slot the entire way up the tier ladder. So ultimately its kinda a crappy situation there too.

The way they have gotten around this is stuff like Malignant rift staff, which is a tier 9 scaling weapon that is trash until tier 11. If they had just made it tier 11, they would have saved themselves a bunch of custom coding.

I still struggle (a lot) with GE & Flamagia. Saggi is way easier for me haha It's supposed to be easier as you grow in tier, problem is that I grew in tier but never upgraded weapons or scrolls, because I only liked to smash things around without knowing what I had to do lol

So yeah, it takes a LOT of time sometimes to BQ, depending on who I get as a challenger XD

Flamagia would be easier if you had better scrolls I think.

yeah I'm working on it, I just need to upgrade most things (scrolls, especially), at once, haha It's a bit overwhelming XD

In addition to the helmet, I also want to get OHS, which I kinda had to restart because I spent my fund on a Prodigy Staff haha And can't forget the soma tablets, and the Truth Serum (ouch), but these will come eventually too.

As for scrolls, I've been trying to RS ingredients but haven't had much luck :P Also, once Tziety grows a bit more and can take on Impossible challengers better during BQ, I'll be able to try to get the 5th win loot out of them, mostly for the scrolls... but that will come eventually as well

don't bother with truth serum.

I don't think it has a legitimate use in any battle anymore. The BAs have metaed against blasting and stealing so much that I'm pretty sure there isn't a single challenger worth stealing anything from. Giving them 2 junk weapons ends up being much better than blasting + stealing 2. You need to get 2-3 perfect rolls out of what I think is about 12-16 choices for most opponents.

worst case scenario, its always availible in the antique shop if you need it for a plot.

Did you let go of your weapons before you took your recent break?

I never thought I'd come back but I'm just gonna kinda be one of those backseat battlers, only.... eh maybe not even. Just thinking about it I kinda don't want to bother now. So I'll just be cheering you all on from the stands. Happy battling everyone.

Cronus, unstable syringe and gotf scroll all come from the series CS challengers for 750 CSC. If the risk of crashing the economy is the reason then maybe there should be more series challengers for 750 CSC that release scaling weapons. This way the weapons don't have to be shitty until they reach max tier.

Perilous whirlpool scrolls are great for flamagia. Definitely try to make a handful of those.

Going to try again tonight after questing. We will see how it goes.
