OMG I finally beat Chase today in BQ I'm so excited!! :D

- Congrats! That's a huge milestone! Chase is a jerk, but at least you get the same amount of EXP for beating him in BQs as all the other impossibles.

Is my aspect ratio off, or did the forum layout change? I don't like this posts showing up below the avatars :( And the training page is all vertically stacked too. That's annoying. I just accidentally put a couple pets into the wrong training session cus they aren't on the screen where I'm used to them being.

Everything looks normal to me :P

They have just changed the font type sitewide, and I believe there has been at least one adjustment made to the font size to different parts of the site, so maybe that affected your site layout. Did you keep the window restored down? That could squeeze things a little bit and ruin the layout (because I've got this happen too often since I always keep two tabs open side by side on my laptop XD)

I think you can try adding custom CSS to shrink the font size to what you want. I changed mine back to the old font and use size 11px so it is now just like it was before.

[edit] : Thank you very much. He's indeed a pain. Perhaps I just got super lucky today because I managed to blast two of his Gilded Swashes and he didn't manage to steal anything from me at all. I might not be as lucky the next time I beat him this week :P

Anyway, have you guys got any recommendations as to which stats would be best to start tackling Crawbeast? How much harder is he than Chase? I tried beating him last week and got creamed XD. I don't have a water block with heal either (the best I've got is Pirate Cutlash, but I believe he blocks its icons and the Frostbite Amulet's icons as well? I could be wrong). I'm trying to get my Str to 3,000 to utilise the water block of the Trusty Blades, but if I can beat him w/o a water block and at a lower stats I guess I'll invest those EXP into health instead.

I only just started being able to reliably beat Crawbeast. Not sure how much that means since I don't use potions or anything in BQs, and I usually only try five or six times to beat opponents before I give up until my stats increase a decent amount. But that's my two cents :) It took much longer to be able to beat him than to beat all the other challengers in BQs 25-29.

My pets stats: Level: 1422 Health: 4601 Strength: 3773 Defense: 3294 Speed: 2763

What was the old font? I set it to 10px Arial and everything seems to be readable again, though it could be better.

@ Solstice: I don't use potions in BQs either so I guess it'll be long until I can hack away at him :'( My current stats are no where near yours. I guess he can eat up my free skips for now lol.

[edit] @ canebrake: I guess it was the Vernada family. Keith included it in his custom CSS in his first post. I can read the new font on my Windows 10 much better but somehow it (or the various font sizes set throughout different parts of the site) doesn't work for my eyes.

Some parts of the site seem to be around 8px now, like the menus and some of the buttons, and it's just hard to read for me.

: Yeah many seem to have the same problem too (I also find the buy button too small and my pets' names on the pet page too large) so I think the new font change will undergo a few more adjustments until things look comfortable and good for most users.

How is everyone?? Got all of your battle goals ready for the new year? I poofed for like a week while I went away on vacation. I did a lot of traveling over christmas and new years.

That is very surprising! What weapons are you using? I was able to reliably beat crawbeast once I had around 4.4k health, but the rest of my stats were all below 3k. He can be a real pain though if you don't have a good water blocker and can't get some chain freezes in or your blessing drops.

I don't really switch out weapons for BQs, my set is trident, PBB, helm, RB, Soma, RotL, pquill, and RV. I probably could have beat crawbeast sooner, I'm just lazy. And not really a good battler if we're being honest.

What are good weapons for crawbeast anyway?

The best against him is definitely a water blocker and then either a dark or physical blocker. Manifesting weapon or the tempestuous gauntlet with AU or ME are really good combinations. I use sierrac flail and PBB modded with 2 dark defense baguettes to get an ok dark block. I also use the OC scroll and freezing scrolls for a chance at chain freezing.
