( OOC LMAO !!!! you petrified your date hahahahaaaaa)

Garrett lay there..wondering if someone might move him off the floor...he didnt like the looks of things down here.

Fade wandered into the ballroom holding a half eaten pumpkin pastie. His eyes lit up at the sight of so many wonderful costumes, but soon it dawned on him that it would be terribly hard to find his friends. A sinking feeling filled his stomach and suddenly he didn’t feel like snacking anymore. Setting down the baked good on a nearby empty table he grew fidgety. Besides feeling awkward around strangers, the tail he had fastened to his pants kept getting in the way when he walked. He had spent so much time on the hair lengthening charm he used, he hadn’t had the time to properly enchant the tail to keep out of the way. Hopefully no one would ask him to dance any time soon. Squinting into the crowd he tried to find some familiar faces. Suddenly there was a collective gasp from the other side of the room, but it was impossible to see what the commotion was from where he was standing.

upon seeing that Garrett had calmed down she took the curse off "Are you alright?" she looked still tired and upset.

(( gaaah, slow dooown. flails and tries to catch up HAha, you're fine really. ^.^;; I'm just mid-FATE game, and a fight to boot.))

"Watched is fine. Glared at by someone who's doing his best to stick a dagger in my head, not so much. That's hardly behaviour suited to what's supposed to be a friendly dance," Kat snapped, reaching the end of her limited patience. "There are other people with worse tempers and less justification." Possibly including him. "You're being unnecessarily /rude/, and -- Magnus!" Kat turned her glare on Magnus when he came over. He was not going to help matters -- and he didn't. She could only nod at the other girl. "I know! That's why I came over to talk -- he told you why, and I'm sure any other night he wouldn't have." The two boys were heading straight for a fight, and Katsumi wasn't about to let Magnus do that. A quick spell stuck his feet to the floor, keeping him from moving forward any further. "Quit it! Magnus, calm down right this instant or I'm calling for Paul. Do you want to have a fight that you'll regret later, or do you want to enjoy the rest of the early evening with me?" She put herself in front of him, blocking his view of Garrett. Something was going on with the Slytherin boy as well, but she couldn't worry about that now. Besides, Fable could do more for him than she could.

Once both boys were calm, Kat undid her defensive spell as well. "I apologize too. I guess...I guess I'm more nervous than I realized. I shouldn't have let it bother me so much." She bowed politely to the other two. "I think for tonight, maybe we should steer clear of each other, if we can? But I'd be happy to talk more, sometime when we're all a bit less on edge." Between Magnus shifting that evening, the ball, and it being her first date, Katsumi really hadn't handled the situation so well.

He looked down at and then back to . She'd handed him a handkerchief and informed him of the blood, he put the handkerchief on his hand. He had essence of dittany in his bag.

Then Katsumi was in his view and threatening to get the auror. But that would mean both boys would likely get in trouble. "I'm sorry... I didn't know... I ain't ever met a vampire before." He looked at the girl pleading her to understand. He knew all to well what it was like to be so vastly different. He wanted so badly to ask about 1,000 questions but it was very much not the time. "We'll go, and leave you in peace."

With that, Magnus left the Great Hall, passing his best mate who would proably see the mixed emotions on his friend, but right now Magnus had to get fresh air and he was going. Outside he was panting and breathing hard. Part of him wanted the fight to happen sooo bad... but the other part wanted just to have a date and good time. Katsumi was right, he had to calm down.

Merlin thought he arrived at a pretty bad time! He hated social events because he wasn't very comfortable around people but seeing his friends and having an argument with other two ( ) that actually had pretty great costumes, was making him feel very uncomfortable. Suddenly a THUD was heard and saw how his friend was completely petrified on the floor. "Way to go little bunny, wasn't that a little harsh?" He felt sorry for but since he wasn't there from the start wasn't sure if he actually earned the spell attack on him. "By the way, what are you dressed as?" It was his attempt to change the mood of the party, which was very gloomy and terrifying so worthy of a Halloween dance.

It had taken Emmy a while to get ready; considerably longer than normal, actually. She had gone all out with her costume, even transfiguring the colour and shape of her eyes from their normal blue. She was a dryad, a spirit of nature, and she'd based her costume off of all the fantasy novels she loved to read. The skirt was a bit skimpy though so she was feeling a bit self conscious as she left her room and crossed through the common room, heading for the barrel entrance.

Emmy took a deep breath, straightened her skirt and the quiver strapped to her back, over her chest, and ducked through the entrance. To her surprise, Aderyn was waiting right there, rather than at the entrance to the long hall that lead to the dorms.

"Hi! You look wonderful!" she said, her voice a little squeaky. Aderyn looked beautiful in her costume, and Emmy stood with her arms slightly out, so that Aderyn could assess her own costume. "What do you think? I'm a dryad," she said, turning fully around once so she could see everything.

Garrett stretched, cracking- among other things- his neck, and sat up. Then he started laughing, a small chuckle at first, that turned into a full blown laugh.

" You....you PETRIFIED ME.....hahahahaaaa " he laughed to Fable. Then he grew sober and he eyed the elf and dwarf.

"You two..." he shook his head and stood up " I think perhaps should get his wound tended to. I have a VERY good sense of smell, and believe me, he smells gourmet tonight. " he waved them off, dismissively. "Go on, then have your fun...you aren't worth getting petrified over, AGAIN. Enjoy yourselves while you still can..this moon is being a right bitch to everyone tonight."

He took Fable's hand and kissed it gently. He bent and whispered in her ear "let me make this up to you"

He glanced over at Merlin, and said with a wicked grin "welcome to the Ball..."

She shot a grateful glance to Kat and managed a small smile "Im sure once both of you have calmed down would be willing to get to know you (to Magnus)

"Hes edgy and like 50 times my size...what would you do? and Im a wolpertinger...though Im seriously considering changing my outfit back to a jackalope...no one seems to get it." sighs

She looked at Garrett "Im grumpy with you..." though he had already been begrudgedly forgiven.

"I can see you are already having fun." -grins back- "At least I know I don't have to baby sit you, is more than capable." -Lol-

"You don't need to change your costume, it's original and cool., unlike mine. I'm dressed as a woman!" rofl

((haa, that was fun. But I'm not going to be able to keep up with this much because of FATE. Just a heads up. <3))

Kat relaxed when Garrett burst into laughter, answering her friend with a nod. "I think we've sorted it out on our own." As Magnus walked off, she gave the two Slytherins a half-smile. "You do the same. ...Nice jinx, by the way," she added, her smile widening a bit. "And thanks. I don't think I could have kept them apart if it'd been just me trying to stop a fight." She turned and hurried after Magnus, and caught up just as they passed Fade. "Hey, glad you made it! ...Why don't you come with us for a bit? Magnus needs to cool off, and...well, you look a bit lost. Amazing -- hair growth spell, right? -- but still lost."

Garrett's smile broadened " oh yes, I am having a WONDERFUL time, he said sarcastically, but with a gleam in his eyes. He then glanced down at Fable (), who looked like she was still miffed at him. " I will talk to you later, have fun Merlin, " he said seriously, and took Fable's hand in his.

He led her over to a corner where they could sit, and not watch what was going on. He kissed the hand he was holding, and said softly " I'm sorry...sorry for making this night so miserable for you. Please try to forgive me...?"

Outside he was calming back down. was right, the moon was being a bitch tonight. Maybe when it was over he could send the Slytherin boy a letter? Ask to hang out--or try. He would like that. It would be nice to have someone else who understood on a different level. seemed nice too.

He was breathing deeply by the time Katsumi came outside. "I'm so sorry, Kat, I made everyfing worse. Forgive me? We'll give 'em wide birth?" He tried to keep the shame out of his eyes.

Fade did a double take as Magnus () passed, but couldn’t keep in the burst of laughter when he laid eyes on Katsumi. () His hand flew to cover his mouth and he blushed beneath it. “Your costume is brilliant! But what’s with him anyway?” Fade’s grin diminished and concern for his friend replaced the worry he had been feeling earlier.

Well if they were going out, Fade snatched the pumpkin pastie back off the table and followed his friends back out into the open air where he asked Magnus directly. "What happened in there? Could'of waited for me to back you up at least."

"Forgiven, Magnus. I know you're on edge. But we worked it out. Now let me see your hand." She aimed her wand, then hesitated. "Does it need dittany if you weren't currently shifted?" she asked, uncertain. "Oh...clash of tempers. He's not the only one the moon's making antsy, I guess," Katsumi told Fade.

"Sorry," he said trying to keep himself from getting upset to tears. Katsumi was looking at his hand. "No, can give aspects of wolf maybe if I clawed the 'ell out of something this close but otherwise no risk of scars without claws and not for this shallow."

"'E's a vampire. Two predators on the edge of a supermoon apparently." Then he beamed, and said, "I met a vampire! Sooo cool."

( OOC yes, it was super fun, and yes, Fable and I are married :) she's having some computer issues right now, but should be back shortly)

Garrett sighed and said to Fable () "maybe, I think...I want to get out of this costume, shower, and put on something less...attention gathering. How about you..? want to get out of here for a little while and get our heads back on straight...? "

( ooc we are good people we swears!! LOL...just having a rough moon irl too all the crazys come out on the fulls and that includes us! :D and my computer is having issues...sighs but I had fun too! you guys are great! :D)

she smiles and nods "It seemed like a good idea at the time...but honestly its getting a little complicated...lol..." follows him back holding his hand "Your punishment is to get me shaped foods.." smiles playfully "and plain noodles with parmasan cheese!" laughs

Aderyn spun on her heel from where she'd been talking to a house elf heading for the kitchens as she'd waited for Emmy as she heard the door opening. Grinning brightly as she caught sight of the other girl, she waved excitedly and blushed as Emmy complimented her.

"Thanks! You look beautiful as ever. Those enchantments are seriously wicked!"

Holding out a hand, she waited for Emmy to take it before leading the girl off in the direction of the great hall. She could hear music and laughter coming from inside of it, and the scent of Halloween treats hit her, making her mouth water.
