Hmm, that sounds like an interesting one, then. I should try it! Especially if Houdini and Doyle use a lot of modern language, it could be fun. I always like crime shows, anyway!

Yeah, too close to the nose, too wide, too big in general... I layer lips an awful lot. I use a lot of the same "natural" pinks, or blacks, or reds, and there are so many lips in those three colors, they're easy to layer. :O But it basically amounts to throwing them on and off, and shifting them around a few times, until I come up with something nice. When I get to the lips, I usually put "lip" in as a keyword, so I can see what I have to work with more easily (that gets the list down to two pages or less). And all of the lips seem to either have lip or gloss in the name anyway!

The noses are always trouble, too! I guess maybe part of the problem is that I always use the same nose. Maybe some of those other lips line up better with a nose that I just don't use? Dunno...

I know everyone LOVES firefly, but I've never actually seen it! I should add that one to my list... I've watched a bunch of Supernatural, and that could be interesting. Though they often are in bad situations, so they have to talk really fast, and with all of the creatures, there might be a lot of series-specific language. I'm a little afraid of starting Doctor Who, though... Everyone who watches it seems to get obsessed, so what if I get so obsessed, I can't get any work done during the day :O Lol, I'm already behind on the housework and my translation because, yes, I also watch WAYY too much tv.

I just finished watching an Australian series that I really enjoyed, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. It's about a really forward thinking - flapper-type woman living in Australia during the twenties. She decides she wants to start solving mysteries, so she kind of puts herself in the police detectives way, and then it turns out she's really good at it, so....

I love to chat about German stuff, but I do get a bit nervous here on subeta... I know they have a strict rule against using other languages on site, and I'm petrified of losing my account! But maybe if I have a grammar question now and again, I might hit him up for that... My husband is of course fluent, but because he is a native speaker, sometimes with grammar he knows what is right and what is wrong, but he can't tell me why... The classic natural speaker problem. :O

I find I have such a hard time learning it because here, the spoken language isn't even German, it's Swiss German, which is frankly a completely different language! So I study and study, and then I can't practice much, so I don't make progress like I did in French... :(

I love watching stuff with subtitles, and I did that ALL the time when I was learning French. I have bought a lot of movies and such that I can watch with subtitles on. I have a hard time finding streams that have German audio and English/German subtitles, though. Of course, that's probably because so many of the ahem... less than legal versions tend to come from Asia.... I'd have an easier time finding Korean subtitles! :O

Today is a good day... I finally got all caught up on the dishes, I have my desk most of the way cleaned off...

I did a Major's quest where I had to gift someone something, and so I used one of those "gift the user above" forums... Now, you never know what you're going to get, and often I get things that are lovely, and they're off my wishlist, but you know, sometimes they're not really the TOP of your list. But the person who got me today picked SPECTacular things off my wishlist... I bunch of items that I really meant to buy soon, so that's exciting...

Oh, and it looks like I won an item from the circus after all, so that's nice... :)

And it snowed today... It was a bit chilly and wet, but it was super pretty. :O

i'll keep sending anyway, if i get any. if you end up with more than the achievement, just sell them :D

Well, at the moment I'm stocking up my hearts in my seasonal store. :) When everything is all over, I'll see if I have enough (and I think I will), then I'll put the extras in my store for 30 or 40k, and catch a bit of profit as they go back up. :)

Yeah, I really enjoyed her show. :) (Didn't watch it in German, though... I wanted to enjoy the Australian accents...) And it's not too long, either. It's only about three seasons. I found them all online pretty easily, so I just watched it straight through. :)

Firefly sounds like something I should DEFINITELY watch through. I wonder how available it is in German? I watched a few episodes of Bewitched, but then the ones with German audio ran out, and I could only find English with German subtitles, so I switched to Wizards of Waverly Place... Terrible, I know, it's a kids show, but I always loved it, and when you're busy doing dishes or such, it doesn't take quite as much concentration as a more adult show, so... :P

I don't know if Firefly is out there in German. I'm guessing it probably is, it's such a HUGE cult hit. Even if it's not in German I would recommend watching it anyways ;) If you do get around to watching it's best to watch the series before you watch the movie.

There's a movie? The series IS out there in German, though: "Firefly - Der Aufbruch der Serenity". And the fact that it has a unique name in German makes it WAY easier to find the streams, so that's good. :) I might have to try that out today. But only if I get at least ten pages of translating done, because I've been a terrible slacker with that lately!
