Lol, funny story about when I got my first lenses... I drew a picture of a sunset with chalk, and I kept telling my cousins how amazing it was, and how well I'd blended the colors and all of that... And they kept being like no, it's really not that great... It's actually not a very good picture. I got really frustrated with them, and decided they just didn't know anything about art, or they were jealous or something... And then I got new glasses because I was having trouble seeing the board at school. With my new lenses I looked at that sunset, and man, those colors weren't blended together very much at all! :O That was way back in the fourth grade... :O

And whoot, just found Bewitched (the series, not the film) in German, so I'm going to watch that starting today... I love the series, and meanwhile I'm working on my German comprehension, so I can kill two birds with one stone! :D

Random question: So, I'm working on my German listening comprehension, and a good way to do that is to go back and watch old TV series, but this time in German instead of English. Right now, my husband and I are working our way through NCIS: LA that way, and during the day, I'm watching a bit of Bewitched. So, if YOU had to pick one favorite TV series of all time that YOU would rewatch if you were learning a language, which one would it be, and why is it so awesome?

Secondly, I just wanted to point out the note in the news: since Survival is almost over, kisses are now much quicker (you can kiss every 1 to 3 minutes, or maybe 4 worst case scenario). So, if you're short on candy hearts, this is a great time to pick up some more. Plus, if you head on over to that game of mine, that shortened limit means you can get LOTS and LOTS of entries here in the last few days of the event! That means any of you could still manage to take a prize! :D

omg your experience with glasses has sucked D:!!! I loved contact lenses when I was younger then randomly when I hit 19 my eyes dried out within the hour of wearing contacts and they got super sore and dry, Ive tried loads of lenses since but no success XD!!

Same about the colors! I actually bought pink ones last time, and I was super worried I'd look silly with them. :O Somehow it works, though. Probably helps that the color is darker around the eyes, so it seems more neutral. :O Desperate Housewives... Huh. Never thought about that. But theoretically they'd probably talk about a lot of the same kinds of things people talk about in normal day-to-day conversations, so that might actually be really good for me... Hmmm... Might have to try a few episodes and see. :P

Haha, I DID guess that, actually. I wonder what that would be like in German? I wonder if it would use sort-of old-fashioned language, or if it would be decently easy to understand? I watched the whole series, so I'd at least have an idea of what was going on. I have to admit I had a bit of trouble with that version of the story.. I think the problem was that the evil witch (I forget her name for some reason) was actually SUPER relatable, so I kind of understood her too much, and felt really bad for her. I knew she was the bad guy, and couldn't get her way, but sometimes the whole time I was just hoping someone would get through to her, and she wouldn't have to stay evil. :O

I think all of the characters in that series were very real, which was good. :)

Yeah 'sexy pouts' are not my thing lol. I have a bunch of them in my wardrobe and I rarely use them. A lot of the lips also seem too close to the nose for my taste.

If I'm not going for some type of character/story with my HA I like to have my HAs look friendly. I haven't mastered layering lips yet and by mastered I mean I tried it once and gave up lol

One of my all time favorite TV shows is Firefly. It's a western-sci fi by Joss Whedon. I've watched it soooo many times. If I was trying to sharpen my language skills by watching TV I would probably start there. Personally I'm also really fond of Supernatural and Doctor Who (especially the 10th Doctor years). I love all three so much I can't even begin to explain why I love them so much ;)

I saw someone recommend "Houdini & Doyle," it's a crime drama set in England in the late 1800 where Harry Houdini (the magician) and Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock author) solve 'unusual' crimes together with the first British female detective. Through solving the crimes Doyle wants to prove the existence of the supernatural and Houdini wants to prove it's never supernatural. If you like crime dramas and supernatural themes it is probably a really good recommendation and even though it's a period piece the language is pretty modern.

I definitely recommend watching TV shows that have subtitles! It helps with listening! That's how I learned Japanese :D
