I think so too pfff
and have amazing HA's do you know any other overwatch cosplayers on here? I really wanna try and cosplay a character but I have no idea who :P
So now that the Retribution event dropped...I have a question.
Blackwatch. Are they good, bad, or a little bit of both? At first I thought they were technically speaking "bad" but wasn't sure. I don't think of McCree or Genji being "bad guys." Moira can have questionable morals. Now I'm wondering if they're good guys with good intentions...but just handle things in shady ways?
I do know that Blackwatch is a coverts ops division of Overwatch. I also know that Talon are the bad guys, which was why I was starting to wonder "Maybe Blackwatch is good but just don't handle things in the best way possible."
Help me understand please xD
N'yawww, thank you. <3
Blackwatch isn't really good or bad. They're the black ops of Overwatch and operate outside the jurisdiction of Overwatch.
McCree was plucked out of Deadlock and given the choice to join Overwatch (or Blackwatch, as the case was, his line about "not signing up for this" isn't accurate as he didn't really sign up at all) or be imprisoned for an undisclosed time.
Genji was placed in Blackwatch after Dr Ziegler rebuilt him after what happened between him and Hanzo, which we still don't completely know the details of, so Genji had to kind of be in the shadows to keep the Shimada clan from knowing he survived. (Not to mention there is a point where Hanzo drops completely off the radar for leaving the Shimada himself but we're not at that point yet.)
Moira is the problem one, her motives are incredibly cloudy. And Reyes... he's Reyes. He means well but Moira's doing her thing with turning him into Reaper and the wraith-like creature Reaper is at this point. In the comic set before Retribution, he and Jack are shown tending to the caskets of fallen Overwatch soldiers and Reyes isn't pleased with losing so many men. It's obvious that Reyes cares deeply for his team and something Moira eventually does or did skews that and twists him into Reaper.
And unlike the fanon up til now of Reyes/Reaper being solely responsible for the Swiss headquarters explosion in a fit of jealousy with Morrison, that's been thrown out the window but it was a tipping point of some sort for Reyes.
deep breath
I help mod an Overwatch server, I gotta have my lore together, lmfao.

You're awesome. That helps a lot.
I'm most familiar with Genji's lore out of the four, followed by McCree. I just realized I've never actually looked into Moira's since her release, so I may read more about her today. I had a general gist of her being this...scientist with questionable morals, so to speak. I had no idea she basically made Reyes into the Reaper he is today. And then Overwatch is really diving into Reaper's lore, it feels like.
After some googling I was just getting more and more confused about Blackwatch's intentions so I thought I'd ask here lol. I need to do a refresher of some of the lore and comics.
I can totally get why, there's a lot and it's very disjointed. They're really delving into Reaper's lore and a lot into Genji, McCree and Hanzo's. Finally.
Now if they'd just show Sojiro since he's hinted heavily at in this event.

Agreed. Hanzo and Genji's animated short 'Dragons' is my favorite of Overwatch's shorts so far xD I really hope they'll make more because they're so good.
Also never realized that Overwatch just released a new comic last week, was that the one you were referencing? I'll read that today too. Cause I was going to say, I don't remember hearing Sojiro's name (but I only got to watch the cut scene for Retribution once, maybe I missed his name referenced).
Dragons is my favorite and the main reason I got Overwatch.
And yes, that one. There's normally a comic that goes to a big event. Sojiro is only referenced on Expert or higher. That's where I'm having trouble because I keep getting bad teams that don't recognize how to get the right enemies in the right sequence to keep us all from dying.

I had played the Overwatch beta which was what made me pre-order the game. Didn't even know of the shorts at the time.
Oh gosh, on expert? I played several games on Hard and didn't win a single one xD I'll see how that goes this event haha. And I know the feels, I've had horrible ranks on competitive lately due to the team I get matched with (I mean, cause obviously it's not my fault, right?? lol)
There weren't many when the game was in beta so there's that. XD
I'm trying to get to Expert but people aren't realizing the hierarchy of the enemies and leave me to deal with the guys who can one shot you and your teammates alone. Hard is almost too easy for me, I've won every game I've played on Hard.
Playing Hanzo against the Talon Assassins is delightfully fun too. I can one shot them with ease.
I won't touch comp. So toxic.

Yea it's embarrassing. Well wait now that I think about it, I was playing the Uprising mode on hard. I haven't tried Retribution on hard yet. I'll have more time to play it tonight and I'll try then. I kept getting stuck with team members that were trying to advance too far ahead or weren't checking their backs for enemies lol. I've got a friend that's wanting to play sooo that'll help.
I can imagine! I have fun with Hanzo but could still be better with him. I bought his new skin last night. And you're right comp is horribly toxic lol. I rarely play it anymore.
Thanks bunches~ And honestly I have no idea xD
If you stay together and work to get the most dangerous enemies out of the way first (i.e. the Enforcers first, assassins second unless attacking a teammate, then tanks and finally everyone else), you won't have an issue with the harder difficulties.
I keep getting teams who don't realize that order and they leave me to deal with the hardest enemies alone. As McCree. While they charge ahead.
Makes me rage.
I do my comp placement matches and then don't touch it.
