Pharah's is pretty neat but the others make me totally comfortable about my shitty loot box luck~ (A nice Zarya skin would have been great though; my standard is if I'd rather wear it than the default one and this new one does not pass muster.)
Alright, thank you very much for the advice! I'll have to try her again sometime soon, I play with a tank main, especially Reinhardt, so tanking, even more so anchor-tanking like Orisa and Rein, is something I don't get to do often. When I do play her it's mostly like "Shield is slightly cracking! Throw down a new one ahhhh!"
I'm with you on the new skins, I think they're a little atrocious. I don't really understand the idea behind them too much, I don't mind Pharas but I'll have to see her with her helmet on. I feel like the issue with the Zarya skins is they keep covering her face, like in this new one and the winter legendaries T:

Man, literally all they had to do was give Zarya her Thunder Guard skin from Heroes of the Storm. They had ONE job.
^^^^ YESS!! I was playing Thunder Guard Zarya yesterday in HotS while I was finishing the Nexus Challenge. I never realized how good that skin was. It looks so beautiful, but still makes Zarya look like the cool, tough Russian bodybuilder she is. I have no idea why she hasn't gotten it in OW yet. wut r u doing blizzard?!
leans in At least Zarya got something with the Winter Wonderland event. My main hasn't gotten anything since Junkenstein and I'm getting peeved. (I'm also hoping that Hanzo's, if he gets one on Tuesday, isn't one of those ugly ass skins I keep seeing on Twitter.)
Yeah, but the skin was really similar to one she already had, which was super disappointing.
But I'm also cranky about Hanzo skins because I literally never play him, but every time I get a legendary it's for Hanzo. I DON'T SNIPE, GAME, PLEASE STOP.
I get the feeling that there are no good skins in this update, so maybe it would be best if they skipped most characters this time and made something not-hideous for next time.

I snipe but every single time I go for an event legendary, it's either Tracer or Lucio and it's like, I rarely play either of them because I'm just no good at either? (Despite I have Lucio's Cute.)

lol, true. It is actually the skin I use, even if it wasn't as awesome as could be hoped.
This is why Overwatch needs to implement a trading system like TF2 has -- I get tons of stuff for heroes like Genji and Hanzo that I don't play, but many, many other people do, and everyone would be happier if I could swap my essentially unused legendaries for theirs.
Seriously, I don't even know what theme/aesthetic/whatever this update is supposed to be, but it is awful. I would literally mod the game just to keep from having to see other people wear them, lmao.
I know, right? I got four Nihon Genji skins after my initial one and my one friend didn't get it at all. Same for Blackwatch McCree.
The event's skins are supposed to be from some very old Overwatch concept art but looking at that and seeing what that's supposed to be, it makes me cringe all the harder for Hanzo because he's just going to get something for the sake of getting something and it's gonna be as ugly as the rest.
I know what you mean; I unboxed Cadet Oxton four times during the Uprising Event and didn't get Combat Medic Ziegler or Blackwatch McCree at all. I ended up buying McCree's, but didn't have enough currency for the Mercy one (since I had to buy half the friggin' event because I only unboxed like, three decent things and kept getting repeats).
I also want trading because I was sick for the entire Year of the Rooster event (technically, I'm still sick, but no longer bedridden...) and thus have none of the items and I'm dying for that Junkrat victory pose.
...Clearly, someone at Blizzard doesn't realize those weren't the final designs for a reason...
I had to buy Combat Medic Angela too. I love Lena, don't get me wrong, but I am so sick of her getting like five skins per event (exaggerating) and everyone else getting nothing.

I KNOW, RIGHT???? Does this mean that Hanzo or Genji or both aren't getting anything this event because Hanzo and Genji were initially the same character???
Right? I get that she's sort of the "face of the game" and all, but I cannot and do not play flanker heroes, so it's like "Great. A bunch more stuff I will never use taking space away from stuff that I would, ie, more options for Lucio or a Junkrat legendary that I actually like".

I was actually wondering about that when writing my last post. Like...are they going to make a cyborg Hanzo skin or...? But maybe that will be your saving grace from this update because it would make him look too much like Genji.
I love Tracer as a character and to play around with in skirmish, but I'm utterly hopeless at playing her. I main Mercy and she tends to get a skin most events, but for any hero yet another recolor of their default outfit gets a little old.
If they were doing cyborg versions they should do one of everyone that doesn't already have one. That would be an interesting twist. Although for the Omnic-hating characters, it would definitely be non-canon in terms of story!

Do you know what I'd give for a cyborg/Samurai skin for Hanzo? I mean, really. There's a ton of that stuff on Tumblr in the "reverse" AUs where Genji was the one who "slew" Hanzo and Hanzo was made partially cyborg and I adore that stuff. Especially the design, Hanzo looks like a cross between a dragon and Genji's Bedouin skin in most art. It's so cool. v

I was actually just thinking about some kind of "reverse AU"-themed update? Like Hanzo and Genji would switch design ideas, and so would some of the other "pairs", like Soldier: 76 and Reaper, or Lucio and Symmetra. It would look super cool, assuming they could make everything different enough to distinguish at a glance so you still know who you're fighting, lol.
As far as I know, the Lucio short is definitely coming at some point but it could also very well be in with the Hanzo lore.

lol, it just sort of grew off the Cyborg Hanzo idea. But now I kind of want it to happen. Especially because I need to know what Heroic Vigilante Gabriel Reyes and Gothic Edgelord Jack Morrison look like.
