It makes me a little sad that the top 2 teams are almost doubling our score... I think it's 'cause they're competing with each other for the lead, so they're probably still donating like crazy. I just want to beat Team Nature. I hope at the end of the event they'll tell us more stats like how big the teams are and how it was scored

Ow. Went to bed and when I got up the leads teams have twice the points as us. I wish we didnt know teams scores as it is hard to be motivated to waste money when there is no shot of getting the trophy and special prize. Guess I will donate a little more to stay ahead of Nature :P

I too hope we get to know team sizes and things like avg donations/person.

Working in a board game shops seems like a fun job! I play board games and table tops rpg's. My friend is developing his own Powered by the Apocalypse tRPG based on Harry Potter for fun.

I like video games too but so rarely have time to play them between grad school and work. I usually just go with tRPGS or board games so I can socialize during he half day of free time I have once a week :P That said I really need to finish my second Dragon Age Inquisition play through and first of the Trespasser DLC. My world state didn't transfer to my game the first time (and I didnt realize until my Hawke was the wrong gender and class) so I need to finish my canon playthrough before I can play DLCs

I have it from Amber that there's some sort of balance for the number of people, but it may not be a direct average. And the scores that are shown are the scores they're going to use.

I'm a huge geek myself. I love Zelda, Portal, Trails in the Sky, Might and Magic, Dynasty Warriors, and Radiata Stories. I just finished rereading the Harry Potter series, and I'm watching Supernatural (up to season 9 now). I grew up playing card and board games, and my parents both played D&D -- my dad still does. And I love rping myself, be it with dice or just freeform.

Some staff commented that it's not just the total either ('cause then bigger teams have the advantage). And looking at the number for us, it's probably too high to be a total. We're currently at 768,489 and there are 61 members in the forum group. Even if only half of our team members are in the forum group, that means we'd average at 6404.075 donations per person, which I don't think is the case.

So I wonder if the score is like, the total, with some sort of multiplier on it depending on the number of people, less people = higher multiplier?

Looking at the size of the other team's ping groups, Team Stick Together actually has less people (48), so either their team didn't all join the ping group, or my multiplier theory is correct, that their score is so high because they have a higher multiplier due to less total members, but higher percentage of crazy members

Im a little confused on how the scoring for this works, and it doesnt seem fair in a way, but im sure they have balanced it out somehow, right?

You know, with what I learned last night, I'm honestly very tempted to quit.

Team Mischief and Team Stick Together cheated yesterday, and staff are allowing it.

Apparently, if you just rapidly click the "buy item" button in the Mystery Box, you'll get massive duplicates of the item. It does charge you for all of them, but people were getting dozens of duplicate items (obviously, the cheap ones, so that they could get more of them).

Technically this should be glitch abuse, but Grelca said, in the Team Mischief thread that since it's charging for the items, it's allowed.

If this is glitch abuse that's being allowed, why was it posted in just one team thread? Why wasn't this made public, so that all of the teams could benefit, not just the team it was told to, and the team that was reading the other team's thread?

I have donated 1000 items! How about everyone else! Is this about average! I am donating more today now that I am off! I can not get but like two or three items on each restock from main shops! I gone through my vault and shops also! I am also buying from vending machines and shops!

I agree with you, Dessa. It kinda sucks.

The mystery box wouldn't let me rapidly hit the buy button, so it must have just worked for a little while! I didn't get home till 5 pm though!

Donating as hard as I can, every token is going into Celebration Gift, and Frosty Claw so I can donate more!

Even if we can't catch the top 2 teams, I want to at least stay ahead of Team Nature, because we're so close!

I'm worried I'm not going to be able to donate everything I have just do to my hardware not complying. Gonna try to make headway again with my hoard this afternoon. If all else fails I'll ditch my comp for another and ban sleep.

Yeah that was kind of a buzzkill for me too when I found that out this morning. That and them now being almost twice our score. It's just meh now to me, but at least I get the chance to know some people on our team a little better if nothing else.

It may just have been a glitch of some sort at the time. Just went there to test it out, and I clicked on the button 10 times and received (1) it also only charged me for 1.

Although it may appear to be discouraging, please don't quit because of the choices that were made by their team. We have an awesome team, and it would be sad to know that any of our team members would give up for any reason, especially knowing how far we have come. Regardless of the numbers that are currently showing. What's important, is that we stay together and unite as a team, after all, we are Team BFF'S ~ Hugs ~ ❤️ ~

-Guru - it is frustrating if a glitch that affected the scoring did occur and was allowed, but I agree with Me-Guru that we should still stick together and enjoy our awesome team.

MapleRose - definitely want to best Team Nature! And we need that photo of your plushie collection, I'd really like to see them. Don't have a collection myself, but do still have a shelf full of plushies that I somehow acquired over the years - including a large K9 that someone gave me.

Oh wow! That is upsetting!

I mean, I understand why the staff wouldn't be able to do anything about it, after the fact, except fix the loophole in the script that allowed it. It would be very difficult, if not impossible, to determine who used that method and who didn't. More than anything though, it makes me more irritated that none of the other teams besides 1st place are going to get acknowledged for their effort. I mean, I don't expect special items (on top of what they are giving us) but a trophy and/or achievement would be nice... If for no other reason than there will be nothing really marking us part of Team BFFs, since they are going to be selling our team item in the MC after the competition is over.

Anyway... Whatever. I'm not giving up because I want to know I did my best. Feeling good about what I did is pure win. -nods-
