So we're supporting nerds here, but how many here are nerds? And are we nerds if we game? What do you guys play? I play Pokemon TCG and I work in a board game shop. So I belong here, right? :D

lmao I'd say you're a real-life Manwar
Well I'm looking for work as a full-stack developer. (ironically I got into coding like a decade ago playing Neopets xD a fun factoid I plan not to share with potential employers...) Star Trek TNG is on in the background. 8)
Relevant:

I didn't really put together that geeky people might pick TeamBFF til said it. I just love all our little shortcuts
Speaking of which I got Keyboard Maestro for Mac; thanks for the tip ! This looks handy for all kinds of stuff.
hehe you know someone is a nerd when their keyboard is a minefield of surprises. Most of my friends have to disable Dvorak or whatever dang-fool things they have installed for you to be able to use their machine

Agree 100%, wish they'd lift the vending limit for the event too.
I used to play Magic the Gathering religiously. I'm just not fond of anything released after Odyssey block and it became too expensive for me so I don't really play much anymore. I've played D&D a few times. I'd love to try out the Shadowrun, Rifts, World of Darkness, and Doctor Who tabletop games though.
Now I just spend most of my time with video games - RPGs being my first choice, preferably jRPGs. Tales Of, Star Ocean, Suikoden, Xenogears/Saga, Breath of Fire, Shadow Hearts, and Shin Megami Tensei/Persona series being some of my favorites.
I watch anime. Danganronpa, Tokyo Ghoul, One Punch Man, Gantz, Elfen Lied, Code Geass, Deadman Wonderland, Great Teacher Onizuka, Mirai Nikki, Shingeki No Kyojin, Deadman Wonderland, Parasyte, Corpse Party, Kill la Kill, Dungeon ni Deai, and Claymore are a few of my top favorites. I like manga and comics too.
A lot of the time I spend online is spent researching/reading up on the paranormal, ancient history, and mythology. I also honestly don't really know the difference between nerd and geek. The way I see it, I'm just me. :P
On the subject of this competition: I'm already out of vends for the day, so I guess it's just going to be wasting time looking for cheap stuff on the Shop Search until tomorrow :/
I'm a little concerned we're just getting outnumbered by a couple of the other teams, as well. That's kind of the problem with letting everyone pick what team they want to be on without some kind of equalization measure -- the biggest team has a huge advantage even if the majority of people are lackadaisically participating. But without knowing the exact numbers for each team I guess I could be overestimating the actual difference between us/Team Sibling and Team Stick Together. [SHRUG]
- I'm probably both a nerd and a geek. I helped write the software for the first release of cellular telephone, was once lucky enough to be on a championship D&D team, and have a houseful of games and playing cards. I love almost any sort of puzzle, card or board game and enjoy video games that make me think but don't require too much coordination or quick timing.
TaterSalad - if I worked in a board game shop I would want to buy one of each, that is so cool. Of course, I'd have the same problem working at a bookstore.
DoctorWho - I agree with you, I don't worry much about whether to call myself a nerd or a geek. Being yourself is usually best.
I actually do play games. Pathfinder ( if you couldn't tell by my username lol), D&D 5e, Shadowrun, and even tried Anima (holy crap all the numbers!). I also enjoy video games like Alice the Madness, WoW, Don't Starve, ect. Plus I've tried various board and card games.
I loved the latest Ghost in the Shell movie. have you seen it?
I like videogames that emphasize "riddles" over reflexes too. Madame Fate and Undertale are good examples of what I like: very creative unique stories. I also like tycoon/lifestyle games like the Sims, RollerCoaster Tycoon, and Subeta ;)
I installed Pokemon Emerald on my phone recently and I absolutely love it! I don't know the Pokemon and, intentionally I suspect, the types are often hard to guess, so it feels like being a kid and playing Red/Blue again when I didn't know exactly how everything worked. There are double Pokemon battles and they mix up the "rival" and "Team Rocket" parts. Finally, I can't wait to get more into the Pokemon breeding part of the game: they made something for gamers to get waaay obsessed with.
Usually Subeta is very balanced. I appreciate how they keep track of inflation, (too) rare items, more things than I can list honestly, and put in countermeasures. Uneven team numbers that determine the contest winner seems out of character :/ I'll be disappointed if the counts are really skewed and they don't come up with a countermeasure: I stalked other forums ( 😳 ) and, at least out of people actually sharing their numbers, we had a lot more people donating in the 1000s and such. It would be a shame if that team spirit didn't make a difference.

Nope. I never really watched Ghost in the Shell. It's on my to do list though. But I do like tycoon games too. I used to be addicted to Sea World Adventure Parks Tycoon, but I'll still play any of them that I can get my hands on when I get the chance.
I honestly dont have an opinion on the difference between geek and nerd! I tend to use the word nerd more but eh!
Im both a nerd due to my love of sci fi, fantasy, and video games but also because of my love science and math. Also I have bachelors of science in mechanical engineering and am working on my masters in the same
I think I might be a nerd, not a geek, but I'd place myself as a moderate. I like puzzles and strategy and video games a lot and I have a maths degree which doesn't help lmao. I'm not really big on sci-fi or fantasy though, bar crossover stuff like GoT, and found it difficult to relate to those who just wanted to talk maths at university. That got so old so fast. I like maths too! I just... want to talk about other stuff.
I obsessively collect stuff with my wife (like Disney Princess Pez Dispensers and Disney figural keyrings) as well as have an extensive board game shelf. So I guess I'm a nerd.
I'm mostly an anime geek. Probably easier to link to My Anime List than to list everything I've seen. I also play a lot of video games, mostly Nintendo stuff (my husband is a Nintendo fanboy, and it rubbed off on me too XD). I always have my 3DS with me. When people pull out their phones, I pull out my 3DS instead. I sunk hundreds of hours into various Pokemon games, but I also like puzzle games like Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright.
I'm currently addicted to Pokemon Shuffle, and can't wait for Fire Emblem Fates (Got the special edition, gonna play both paths)! In fact, couple days ago, I just pre-ordered the FE Fates new 3DS XL :D
I used to be addicted to iPhone games like Candy Crush XD I managed to quit, I think.
Oh yeah, I have a huge collection of anime figures and plushies (mostly Pokemon). I'm running out of space to display them! That's one of the reasons I joined this team, 'cause the description of our item is exactly me XD I think my subeta hoarding tendencies reflect rl. This is like 1/4 of my figure collection. The photo is a bit outdated, that's only the start of my husband's amiibo collection, he's collected all the amiibos so far. I don't have a photo of my plushie collection, but let's just say it's enough to fill a king-sized bed :D

Man I'm so jealous of you Americans getting Fates. They haven't even announced a date for Europe yet. :c Awakening is like my favourite 3DS game, even ahead of the Pokémon titles (which all have terrible postgame boo).
We're getting Bravely Second at the end of Feb though, yessss geeky jrpg goodness. :D
Aww, is it because localization for Europe takes longer? (not sure if all localizations are on the same cart)

You know what, I could not help but notice how Joyce expressed her support for Stick Together, then her shop just-so-happens to become available to use, and Stick Together suddenly rises to the top. Hmmmmm...curious! :O (I knew Blake made those traps himself. I knew it!)
Yeah I think they are all on the same cart, and I figure that plays into it but there must be a wider issue too. It's just so inconsistent across the board. EU and AUS are both getting Bravely Second two months ahead of the US which is weird. And AUS always gets bundled with EU release dates, or later. I guess it's just a combination of localisation, legislation and marketing. And frustrating to watch everyone else enjoy it! :P
Yeah I have no idea how they decide which region to release first. I remember when Europe got Yoshi's Woolly World like 4 months before the NA release. And for Yoshi's New Island, NA got released before even Japan O__o

Team Score: 753,456 Your Contribution: 1,690.5 Starting to fall asleep sitting up lol. It was nice talking to your guys, I'll see you later 😊
lmfao. Mighty curious >_>
Now I'm scared another shop will get thrown in :S minions are super cheap and the owner is highly respected by Rumi, but I can't figure out how they'd involve them.
