It was actually those stories about King Arthur one day returning that got me thinking it would be a cool idea :)

I have a new goal for this year. I want to write a few stories based around this new pair of characters I will be working in over the next week or two. I am going in a different direction from my other story so this will be different. [edit] Working on my new characters and already love them both. I also just finished typing up a quick story I did for a friend. More so just doing this to get the inspiration flowing. Hope this momentum can keep going I badly need it.

I have more motivation to actually sit down and try to publish something now that I'm in the working world and I'm not so sure I like my current career path. I'm going to Japan for 5 weeks this summer and don't have any obligations whatsoever, so I think it'll be great to just leave my place behind and go off on an adventure on my own. I found a lot of inspiration last time I went so I know it'll do wonders for my creativity.

Guys! I finished up with the second draft with the fic I've been writing last night! I'm posting the first chapter tomorrow. Hope it all goes well.

You'd be surprised how this fic evolved from the first writing. The first chapter is mostly the same as what I had planned, but there are no less than three major character who either had a very minor role or weren't there at all in my preliminary outline. I think you'll be surprised where your ends up as well when it's done.

There are points I have to deal with:

. I must make a selection in a story. Write anything what I like is one thing, but it's also relevant to keep a decent line in the story. So at time to time I have to remove a lot text I actually liked.

. I write a lot of fan fictions. By fan fictions I must be aware, it will be nothing more or less than that. The original characters are not mine. So if some official info about a character will become entire different than what I had written, than it could be better to consider the function of the characters in my fan fictions are just a source of inspiration to make the following step to create my own original characters.

My fiancee and I co-write! :D It is, indeed, a huge amount of fun. One of our longest-running (see: over 10 years) projects originated as the same thing you're doing now - a big OC crossover that evolved into a 3-novel set that we have (mostly) plotted out, partly written, but also re-written about 4 times XD Seriously, the most fun.

The project I'm currently working on is one that is mine alone, but having someone to ping ideas off of ("I was thinking of doing (this), what do you think?" "What if you take (this) but switch one thing to (that) instead?" "OMG you're a genius!") is always a wonderful tool.

I always appreciate a constructive comment of input from strangers! (er, well anyone who doesn't know me personally...)

I'm really fortunate in my choice of life-partner in many, many ways. But we started off as RP-buddies online (we had met in person through a mutual friend, but most of out chatting at first was online) and things went from there ^^ So moral of the story, you never know who you'll meet!

Most of what I'm doing lately is fanfiction - Dragon Age flavor. Also generally with a smattering of 18+ in at least a chapter or two (with a one-shot, pure PWP that was also a Christmas gift lol). It's definitely not something that is for everyone. I have a detailed original project world that I haven't touched in a while (because I have a Need to write my Inquisitor's story), but I hope to get back to it in the near future. It's a fun world- loosely twisted-fairy-tale based fantasy with steampunk overtones and queer protagonists.

I have to admit to not being a very good writing buddy. I write, but it feels like I don't read much at all anymore. Full time job + too many hobbies! Kinda sucks getting old.

I wish I had the courage to do world building, but everything I write happens here and in the present.

Generally, I like to write realistic fiction about my fictional characters.

I have one in particular that's rapidly developing and over coming my current on my favorites list.

World building is so much fun. Urban fantasy (the modern-ish world plus magic, elves, what have you) can be a beautiful place to practice some aspects of world building without having to do everything all at once. Eventually I'd love to get into conlang (constructing languages) because I'm a huge language geek, but it's still over my head.

That sounds awesome! Having something grab you and drag you along and wind you up into excitement over what you're creating is.... yesssss!

I have tried some world building, like I made with alternate word that's stuck in the past with a dessert region that worships stones... (long story)

I also have a story about a praying mantis that works at a bank in Pittsbug. He has a love interest, but his friends are trying to convince him not to fall in love... (Since female mantises eat their male counter parts)

Also, developing languages sounds like soooo much fun!

Other than that, I haven't done much... :|

Creating religions is particularly hard, I find? Finding the balance and not just appropriating an existing religion and slapping a new name on it... that's something I've been struggling with in my world building. Sounds like you went into a lot of depth to figure yours out ^^

Oh no mantis man! lol. But did he fall for another mantis, or for a different race? Or maybe he's an asexual mantis but wants the romantic relationship, so no danger of getting his head eaten off during intercourse... LOL seriously though that's a great concept and I hope you run with it XD
